To the fans who shot this film, whoever and wherever you are, a huge thank you. Without you, none of us today could see what happened on that fantastic new years eve night. Imagine it. This legendary concert should've been filmed professionally but wasn't, because of col T Parker, his crooked manager.

I saw that suit at Graceland and it is stunning. What you cannot see clearly in this video is tiny colourful baubles embroidered within the eagle design which gleam with movement. Fabulous!

If it wasnt for all the amateur video taken at his concerts, good or bad , we would all be staring at a blank screen right now ! Be grateful for what we have and enjoy it because the powers that be never had the foresight to professionally record his 1000 plus concerts . I for one am grateful for every second of video we have of the KING no matter what the quality !

My older sister died in a car wreck in august of 1976 at 17 and to help me feel better my Mom got me tickets to this show. It was a magical night. I was able to forget about things for a while because the King was in town and alive and well.

A friend of mine worked security for this show. He said Elvis looked like Fred Flintstone. LOL. In the bright stage lights, according to my friend, you could see the girdle Elvis was wearing. This same friend also worked the Elvis Pittsburgh show in '73, and he said it was disappointing that the show changed so little between those appearances.

Love this. How could you not. Elvis was one of a kind. I am 45 and still listen to him daily, have since I was 5. I 've been to Graceland 5 times but never got to see him live, almost I had a ticket to aug 22nd 1977 in Hartford. I still have it. The man is just the best.

With all due respect, Michael was great & probably the only one who could come close to Elvis. BUT, there's Elvis & then there's everyone else. I'm not talking about #1 singles, Billboard Charts, etc. Elvis was an un-equaled phenomenon. He wasn't called "THE KING" for nothing. Elvis' legacy reached far beyond just music & pop culture. He set the "bar", he set the standard. It hasn't been reached since. Michael was incredible.......but Elvis was THE KING.

September 1974 among celebrities and friends were Senior Grand Master Ed Parker, Vernon, Priscilla and little Lisa Marie.

It strikes me as irrational and an ignominious insult to Elvis memory were I to believe hed knowingly bring dishonor to his Kenpo instructor or the Presley family name.

Regardless of how much pain or how tired he would go on stage and try to give his fans his best from the depths of his hear and soul with no regard for his own feelings. He loved his fans that much. Elvis is love in motion his sweet, kind, generous loving spirit he just wanted to make people happy.He achieved that goal 1,000 of times over for me and I still listen to his music and miss him everyday

It sickens me at how everyone wants to label Elvis a drug abuser. HE WAS NOT

You need to sit down and do some real reading about his life he took legal prescription medicines for his health issue. I wonder how many of us at 42 with several chronic health problems could have gotten on a stage night after night feelin good, bad or indifferent but never wanting to dissappoint his fans. Until you have walked in his shoes quit judging him or you yourself may be judged.He was human just like you.

Excuse me puckhead, Elvis did not have to work harder to get ready for this performance.IF Elvis ever did have a weak performance it was because he was ill at the time.He would refuse to cancel a show many times when he should have.Yes,he was phenomenal this night,he sounded great,looked great and he was where he loved to be,on stage performing for his fans.The most important things in Elvis' life was his daughter,his spiritual soul,his career and his fans. I always wondered this about his appearance on this night also. He looked in good shape compared to his health in August of '77. I also think the book did him in also. His privacy meant everything to him. It's too bad Sonny and Red were more bitter than to really trying to help him. I also think Elvis may have worked a little harder to get in shape for this show and gave a good show because Lisa Marie was in attendance. The King will always be the King....TCB

he was really on here. wow. and this was 8 months before he died. in 77 he looked awful. wow in only 8 months. i guess he was in pain, he took too much stuff and that was it. back then it was rare today its commonplace.

Yeah he did seem on here. So what drastically happened in 8 months? Red and Sonny's book came out. Elvis was on a downward spiral from '73 on but I think the "tell all" book is what did him in. It's a shame because his fans would have loved him anyway...but he thought his career was going to be over with the book coming out.

I have this entire show on vhs and cd. This is probably one of his best shows from the last 2 years. Unfortunately the estate won't professionally release this show or ''ELVIS IN CONCERT'' because they want to preserve Elvis' image from '56-'73 from what I have read. This show is available on cd from the FTD label. I bought mine at a gift shop at Graceland a few years ago. I've seen these for sell on ebay before.

One in the eye for those who maintain that Elvis was fat and drugged out for the last five years of his life. This is less than 8 months before he died. Great voice, no slurring. Classic Elvis. If only he could have stayed healthy and clean like this. When Elvis didn't know he was being filmed he was much more confident and invariably put on a better show. I have had about a 6th generation VHS copy of this for about 20 years. great to see it so clearly. Thanks for posting it.

I wish to God EPE preserve all these Platium treasures instead of giving us stuff that we have for years. The least they could do for us fans! Just look at him here so bloody beautiful! Considering the ok sound sysyem they had those days Elvis sounds so good. Wish we could get a hold over the digitally remastered sound ones dvds .
