my grand-dad passed April 30th 2010 and he loved this song so much. i miss him alot and everyday i listen to this song and it make me think of the times he always sing this in the car....
There's no way out, you're entrapped in their lies. Their stories are to control your feeble mind. Their churches are eating through your wages. Temple of lies, so full of emptiness. Mirrors to their greedy ancient fraud. I stare in your eyes and see nothing. Your willing ignorance has destroyed you. You're chasing fantasies you'll never reach. I live my life above the lies of sheep. I'll never surrender, I'll always fight for my mind. With Satan by my side, I stand above all.
I heard this song for the first time on Aug. 16th at my dear step brother Jason L Coleman's Homegoing Services Sung by a wonderful singer by the name of Missionary Emma Chapman at Lively Stone Church of Christ in Centrlia Il. 62801 She also tore the church up, we had a GOOD TIME IN THE LORD. MIss you and Love You Jason LEMMY
Shirley Ceaser When you hear of my home going... Don't worry about me. When you hear of my home going... Don't worry about me. I'M PACKED RIGHT NOW, HEY, HEY, ON MY WAY HOME. One thing I know... Sure been born again. I'VE MADE MY PREPERATIONS, ONE FRIDAY, LORD YOU SURE KNOW WHEN YOU CALLED, BE MY TIME TO GO. Hey I'm just another soldier, going home to be with the Lord. OH, GOING HOME GOING HOME GOING HOME GOING HOME I'M GOING HOME GOING HOME I'M GOING HOME YES I'M GOING HOME
She is amazing! I remember seeing here in the late 90's singing with a group called the "Singing Angels". She is always like this, she feels every song she sings. She is anointed, and that cannot be duplicated.
I Love This Song, and Missionary know how to work with it.....she got that pentecostal flavor! If someone know the words to this song please post...would like to learn this. Enjoyed this tho, absolutely MARVELOUS....
I love this song as well.... I played this at a funeral on Saturday...down in Montgomery Alabama...... Folks just love this song and it gets peeps on their feet....
OMG, Everytime I hear this song I start to cry, weather its a family member or a total stranger's funeral. This song is OMG. Yall sould hear the Mother at my church sing it.
I love this song. My grandmother went to sleep in Jesus on Tuesday night, January 10,2006 at age 100. This was her testimony and one of her favorites songs to hear. She shouted everytime she heard. Thanks for sharing this.
You have never been so wrong. First of all Mahalia's style would not allow her to sing this song. Victoria Hawkins recorded it. You will not find one recording of Mahalia singing it. Keep in mind, Mahalia's music is so classic, you can almost name everything she has ever sung. The only song I know where she shared equal with another artist was Marion Williams' "Standing Here Wondering". Let's do our research and post it here.
I love this song. I have looked for it on cd for years and can not find this song anywhere. Thanks for posting it. I play it all the time. Does anyone know who recorded it.

do you know where I can download Victoria Hawkins' version?
badboii4liife07 4 years ago
I've never heard of Mahalia Jackson singing this song, but it certainly fits into things she could have sung.
She had two styles - the New Orleans style that she sang in Chicago Black churches, and the more "laid back" style that she sang for white audiences.
Check her out at the Jazz Festival singing "Just A Closer Walk With Thee". She starts off "laid back" and ended up tearing down the house...
