  • around how much does it cost???top nd bottom

  • @HIxIMxBLOND hi, thanks for the query. i have been asked by staff not to post prices here. call my office 972-312-8188 or email info at lamfacialplastics [dot com]. :)

    s.

  • If I asked for a result similar to that of a celebrity, would that be possible?

  • damn .. just by hearing your testimonies ... my lips just cracked up ...whoah ! i'll never gonna have lip surgery !

  • I have the same lips at day 6.

  • I have the same lips at day six.

  • is she reading?

  • @ebunny91 yes. i answered why below: she is reading something because she is too nervous to speak on camera without notes. i did not give her a script or ask her to say what she said. i just told her to tell her story. most people that i deal with are very camera shy. she went through a terrible experience before i revised her lip. i just wanted her to tell her story of what she went through. she wrote all the words unedited by me.

  • do revision cost more than the first procedure? are you able to reduced the lumps and bumps and is that even normal? are you able to reduce the scar visibility?I'm unable to send pictures so we will have to meet in person. I hope u dont rush during consultations because I would have ALOT to say. thanks

  • @NuclearBeauty1980s not for lips. i do not know if i can reduce all lumps and bumps but i will try to find the offending bumps and remove them. they are probably minor salivary glands that have been ensnared. i hope i can reduce the scar visibility. if you can meet in person that is the best. if not, send photos to my email account. my girls will help you with that. just call my office 972-312-8188. you are welcome.

  • I got a botched lip reduction by a very well known doctor he even appeared on a popular makeover show. I now regret going with him. my lips look larger and have big hard bumps. he did the markings really quickly and seemed to be in a hurry. hes an older docotr so i thouht he would have more expierence. I have a huge and deep visibe scarr on my bottom lip that is visible when i open my mouth just slightly. with your before and after pic i see nooincision line! can you do a revision?

  • @NuclearBeauty1980s yes, would be more than happy to. please call my office to discuss or schedule 972-312-8188 or 888-866-3388.

    best,

  • it look like shes reading something does not seem real

  • @Beijingthediva it is real. she is reading something because she is too nervous to speak on camera without notes. i did not give her a script or ask her to say what she said. i just told her to tell her story. most people that i deal with are very camera shy. she went through a terrible experience before i revised her lip. i just wanted her to tell her story of what she went through. she wrote all the words unedited by me.

  • @samlammd i have big lips for a hispanic male. I have some trouble when i speak. im sure i have a speech impediment. and im sure its because of my lips. Would surgery help with this issue? and do people ever get this surgery due to this issue?

  • @thoushallreason i have not had people do it for that reason. i would speak with a speech pathologist to make sure that is the problem before even contemplating the procedure because it could be something entirely unrelated.

  • @samlammd ok thank you, now its not a bad speech impediment. i have never had anybody tell me i do. its very slight. its only when i try to say some tricky words is when the words come out different because of my lips, or at lease i think it is. ill check with a speech therapist

  • @thoushallreason cool.

  • this is probably a common question, but how much do you charge for just one lip,

    and both lips?

    very much appreciated.

  • sorry, please email constanze at lamfacialplastics [dot com]. i have been asked not to post or respond to questions of that nature here.

  • Sorry, One more question.

Since I've never had small lips before, I need to ask you a question..

Is it normal to have your lips press against your teeth or go slightly underneath the buttom of the front teeth? Do you sometimes hold in your lips with you teeth?

Well, I personally answered yes to both of them. Does this mean I need the lip reduction?

  • i wouldn't say that you need a lip reduction as it is a procedure that is one of choice. however, if your lips appear larger than you like and the qualities you describe seem to point toward larger lip size, then yes, you would most likely benefit from it. if you want, you can email constanze at lamfacialplastics [dot com] for more information on pricing and scheduling.

    best,

    dr. sam lam

  • U look beautifull!!

  • You should of done a before and after photo to show the difference. But anyways it looks great honestly awesome job!

  • It's like she's reading it from a pice of paper she got from the doctor

  • no, she's reading it from something she wrote because she is nervous. i did not pay her, give her a discount, tell her what to say, or in any way influence her words. most people get pretty nervous in front of a camera. i am so very appreciative that she did this for all of you guys out there who would be nervous about having this procedure done. she is very brave for doing it, and i thank her for it.

  • Did it leave any scars?

I don't want scars in my lips, that's why I ask.

    Thank you.

  • no, it didn't. obviously, any incision can leave a "scar". however, the incision is made to create a new wet-to-dry lip interface where you naturally have a line. just pull your lip back and look. plus incisions on the lips heal faster and better than anywhere on the face or body.

  • Did it leave any scars??

    I hate scars.

  • I actual went to a plastic surgeon in the Twin cities for a consultation. He didn't do mine because I am susceptible to keloid scarring. I'm guessing since most of your patience are of "ethnic" origin and have daker skin, they are more susceptible to keloids. So, do keloids ever form when you do lip reductions?

  • keloids are practically impossible on the face without exceptions. only the neck, scalp, and ears are susceptible.

  • How much in total did this patient's surgery cost? I am well aware that everyone will be different, I would just like to get a ballpark. Thank you.

  • ballpark is 2 to 3 k.

  • Dr. Lam,

I was wondering if you can show us some before and after pictures of your lip reduction surgeries. I have seen some over the internet and realized that a couple actually have this fat under their lip after the reduction. Could we perhaps see some pictures of your results?

  • yes, i have a ton of photos. go to lamfacialplastics my website and go to my before and after gallery.

  • your eyes keep moving. like you are looking at a paper or something idk

  • yes, i believe she wrote everything down that she wanted to say so that she would be less nervous when talking about her traumatic story. thanks for the comment.

  • Hi

Can you do rhinoplasty, lip reduction and mole removal at the same time or around that? or do u have to wait till one of the surgerys has recovered? thx

  • yes, no problem.

  • Having a lip reduction on top of prognathism is senseless. You probably should have the upper jaw broken, teeth reset and then you wouldn't need a lip reduction.

  • i think the word "senseless" is a bit strong in my opinion. a 20 minute office procedure under a dental block that makes someone happy makes sense to me versus a highly morbid procedure. i agree sometimes you need to do OMFS surgery, but not always. also, how do you account for a very very full lower lip as well? sometimes, you need to do a lip reduction, sometimes you would benefit from bony work, sometimes both.

  • Is there alot of scarring from this procedure? I would assume so, but sometimes inner mouth procedures dont leave visible scars..just wondering..

  • no, the way that i do it you should heal very well even with an external approach.

  • so what do you get from that lip reduction?

  • a smaller lip! lol. i think a more balanced and less ethnic appearance in short.

  • if u already got u lips reducted then u lips previous must be really big? or could sumit a pic?

  • since my patient does not live in dallas, i don't have a way to get before and afters. the first surgery really did nothing, as she says except give her pain and a long recovery.

  • Is it necessary to fly in for a consultation and then fly in again for the procedure? I'm from New York. Do you ever come to the New York area?

  • Dr.Lam, do you know anyone in CT ( Connecticut) that you would recommend? Or anyone in the New England Area? ( United States of course)

Dr.Lam, how do you deal with the emotional side of surgery in cases where a patient wants to diminish or reduce an ethnic feature? Do your patients feel embarrassed about wanting this kind of surgery?

    Thanks!

  • no, i don't know anyone there that does what i do. also, i would say that i think my patients are very comfortable with their emotional state and desire to make these changes. most people are not trying to look white (look at my patient. i doubt you would say she looks white) but to soften features. if you are conflicted, obviously don't pursue this procedure until you are psychologically ready.

    best,

    sml

  • WHY IS SHE READING WHAT SHE SAYING

  • HERE IS MY RESPONSE FROM ABOVE:

Yes, I know she is reading from her notes. Even though I don't need them since I do public speaking every 3 weeks, most people that are going to talk in detail do need them. They are simply too nervous to remember everything or to be comfortable in front of the camera. Please don't hold that against her. She is sincere. I think her experience was so bad with the last doc that she really needed to make sure that she did not forget any details by using her notes.

  • @AMYRI23 After reading the explanation above I can relate. Enduring a lifetime of ridicule due to looks one can get very shy - extremely shy.

  • Why did she want to reduce her lips at all? Were they deformed?

  • in short, yes. they were also just overly ethnic for this patient.

  • I relly need cash for this procedure.

  • Ok my question is what if you want one lip reduced and one lip increased? How can that be done and how much is the cost?

  • yes. to reduce one lip it is 2500. to augment a lip, it is 700 per treatment. most people need 2 to 3 to permanently get it there spaced a minimum of one month apart.

  • do you mean that most people need to get the procedure done 2 to 3 times to get a pleasing result?

  • no, typically one time is enough. i am fixing someone else's work.

  • Does anyone have an idea about the cost. I'm thinking about having the procedure.

  • I charge 2500 for one lip, 3500 for both together at the same time. You can probably get it cheaper but I don't think any better (sorry for the arrogance). This is something that I do almost every single week of the year. Most docs do one or two a decade if that.

  • Why didn't she have the buttom lip done? I am planing on having mine done. I hate them and they are the biggest lips i have ever seen. Regarding the scars on the lips how long does it take for them to heal?

  • everyone is different. some just want the top, others the bottom, some both. my scars heal imperceptibly in most cases very fast.

  • UMMMM, she is SO totally reading cue cards! I don't doubt you did a great job but this is too scripted.

  • I will have them for you if my patient returns back to dallas as a comparison.

  • Yes, I know she is reading from her notes.

  • Gotcha. Yes, she did have a lot to say about her previous surgery. I'm very curious and concerned about who performed her original LR, as I'm consulting with Dr.s on the east coast at this time for this procedure. I would love to go to you for the LR, but I have a couple more consults on E. Coast. Would you or she possibly be able to send me the name of her original Dr.?

  • unfortunately, i don't know. i did not ask. i think it is important to find a doctor who does this all the time like every week. i am probably one of the few surgeons in the U.S. that has that volume with 85% who fly in for my work. Best of luck. If it does not turn out well, I can help you out. I usually can fix most errors out there. Just remember if the doctor can talk a good game, SHOW ME THE MONEY. SHOW ME YOUR RESULTS AND TESTIMONIALS. IF NOT, BYE!

  • any before pics, you look wonderful by the way

  • thanks. i have a lot of results on my website lamfacialplastics [dot com].
