Hey, in Act 2 of Marble Zone, in ALL of those spots with the green platforms that float on the lava, you don't need them. Every single spot where that is set up, you can just jump across it without the green platforms. Just thought that might be nice to know. (If you think against that, I'll post a video prooving that you can do so.)

It's slightly harder due to a spike glitch and there is less detailing then the Japanese version.

There actually is 8-bit sonic games. But it's for the handheld "Game Gear". Look up Sonic 1 and 2 for the Game Gear if you are curious to see how it would look.

I would say that when I played this game before Sonic 2, it seemed fine... but when I played Sonic 2 then went back to 1 it felt like there was something big missing from the game mechanics because it was always hard to get up hills if you slowed down at all, lol! In other words, the spin dash. It's definitely a addition that makes sonic games better because you never have to slow down.

Fun Fact: Originally Sonic's name was going to be Mr. Needle Mouse, in his 1st character design he had fangs and he was black, and he was going to be in a band ( with Vector the Crocodile as his drummer) with a girlfriend named Madonna. However, Sega decided not to do all that and just stick with straight platforming with speed. Yes Pkgam, I, cjv84us, have returned to destro... It used to be for me when I first started playing it, but after I got the hang of it, I don't have much trouble.

The trick with Labyrinth's boss is to play patiently and move only when you can. Despite the worry of drowning, there's actually plenty of time to get through it... providing you don't get hit and fall to the bottom of course. ;)

I don't know if you heard of it, but in Marble Zone, Act 2, there are two bonus lives in different places. (one of them is inside a hidden door at 7:19), When I was a kid, I used to pick up these two lives and die, repeatedly. I remember once I reached 20 lives doing that. Man, playing without saving was tough.

Yeah, the one you mentioned is under that ledge where that lower green block is.

Not being able to save definitely increases the difficulty. Lots of people ended up using the level select code because of that to continue where they wanted.

It has to do with how many times you play the games that are unlocked on the collection. By "play" I mean you can just go into a game, and exit it when you hit the title screen, lol!

Like for example, to unlock sonic 3 & knuckles, you have to play sonic 3 and sonic & knuckles 20 times each.

The numbers vary depending on the game you want to unlock. search gamefaqs(dot)com for the mega collection and go under codes and you'll find a complete list of them.

I have actually made my quality a LOT better since I made this set of videos. Not screen recorder quality of course since I'm still using my camera, (I can't use a screen recorder because my game TV is on a different floor in the house then the computer) but pretty close.

You can try out a free one called "Camstudio". It's open source. Google it, it's fun to mess around with.

What screen recorders do, is they record the TV or computer screen like a DVD-R. But you can choose the area you want them to record. Plus you can record your voice with it... which you can't do when recording your TV normally. Which makes them excellent for game walkthroughs.

Nothing except a slightly better ending. It's really not worth getting them other then having a personal acheivement, lol!

The only thing that changes is the picture of Robotnik at the end... instead of him celebrating that he still has emeralds, he is on the floor crying (if I recall, don't hold me to it, lol!).

Look up the "good" ending on Youtube and prepare to be disappointed, lol!

a hidden hole in the wall was missed in marble zone. it was near the first of the last spike chandeliers in marble zone one.

I just jump over the ball when I fought the first boss. I like during bosses the hard way. When I first play this game, this was the board that kept me from moving on.

Oh, you mean like as the ball is swinging toward you you jump to hit robotnik and go between the ball and him? That's the way I actually used to do it, lol! But this method is better for beginners.

Are you talking like the codes I posted in the description? If so, then no. All different versions have are graphical changes and glitches fixed/put in.

If you're talking slower as in PAL or NTSC versions, then it differs. I believe the PAL version is slower but only in framerate. So maybe not.

I tend to like game music nowadays in most cases, but very few tunes are "memorable" to me as compared to all the classic goodness that used to be on he S/NES Genesis. Maybe because a lot of them just dont "capture" the stage's enviroment like old games did.

Well, I never played the "new gen" sonic game on the Xbox/PS3 because I don't have those systems, but I can review like Sonic Unleashed music, the newest sonic game I have. There's not a single tune I remember! That says it all, lol!

I'm guessing this is an addition to the codes I placed in the description? I already knew about the Debug mode (and other Sonic Game's debug/level select codes), but are you sure this is the right code? On GameFAQS it says: After performing the Level Select code (up, down, left, right, B+Start), go back to the game title

with Z. During the title screen, push up, X, down, X, left, X, right, X, then B+Start. Pick a level

and push B+Start to begin.
