That theme relates to my memoir where reality is harsh, but one must learn to move on and live through the illusions in life.

An existentialist may view friendship as merely idealistic and deluding. Also, Altair needs to climb several watchtowers, which actually look like UCRs bell tower, symbolic of having to overcome college life.
