  • nice job dude! keep up the work! :)

  • Just bought one on ebay!

  • @johnpopes awesome! Have fun with it!

  • Wish the battery wasn't dead on mine so I could save my presets with out doing sysex everytime! Its very lovely though, your video helped me decide to buy one!

  • @idiocyparade Thanks! Well you're in luck, the batteries on these guys are a simple AA battery. There's a small removable door on the underside that opens up.

  • @musicajuro woah didn't realize synths used those haha, awesome.

  • @idiocyparade I know its crazy, they're the only ones I've ever seen in my life that use them.

  • Wonderful work.

  • you guys are all so nice, I really appreciate all of the positive response I've been getting for this album. I will be releasing a new album in April called Coruja. I hope all of you check it out. It really is going to be one of my best ones in a long time, if not ever. All of the info is on my blog which is justinrobert dot wordpress. I used some other cool synths on it as well as a whole slew of exotic percussion and live drums.

  • just downloaded and listened to this in its entirety. absolutely love it. i used to own a CZ3000 and i found it a difficult synth to love, but you've found the character of it and really brought it out nicely. very, very nice work indeed.

  • It's a fantastic album. I downloaded it long time again, and it demonstrates the Casio PD synthesis in such a great way. I am still puzzled how could such smooth timbre transitions be achieved on this instrument, as it has the inc/dec buttons that work in a very audible stepped way. I have the CZ-5000, CZ-1 (two), VZ-1 (two), VZ-10M (two), HT-700, and PG-380. But I am an idiot in using them, although I consider myself quite knowledgeable in PD synthesis theoretically. Pleasure to listen!

  • Really like this album, really impressed that you haven't been tempted to use any external effects!

  • @wegotwires Thank you so much! All the comments here are so nice. My next album is going a totally different direction. Only brazilian percussion, Batucada style, no looping or sequences.

  • Just started downloading. Concept of using cz-3000 seems very nice. I really like Schulze's 70/80 recordings so i guess i'll enjoy yours.

  • I'm sorry I accedentally deleted one of the nice comments one of you left for me. I was trying to hit "reply" and accedentally hit it. I don't think there's a way to undo this :(

  • why do people assume just because its digital its cold..

this sounds warm and catching to me..

point up for phase distortion synthesis!

  • Thanks so much everybody :)

  • This is very nice to record an albub using this single brilliantly designed instrument. It's greate that these instruments are still around. I recently got a brand new-like CZ-1, I mean, it looks like it just came off the production line. There's one more on eBay like that, thinking of getting that one as well. The Casio CZ-series was fantastic, as well as the VZ, FZ, and even HT-series. It's a pity that they didn't sustain Yamaha domination in the market. Casio name was no good marketting

  • Thanks so much, and I totally agree. I think the CZ is one of the best and most unique sounding synths that was made. I have actually been desiging a VST emulator, it's actually done, but need presets. Let me know if your interested in creating some patches and I'll send you a copy.

  • This is super, like the BBC radiophonic workshop. Sounds a bit like "Mysterioso" which was used in Blake's 7 and Doctor Who.

  • Ahh thanks! I love the Doctor!

  • Very cool concept here. I love the dated sound of the old Steve Roach and Robert Rich albums.

  • Thanks a lot! I love both of those guys, Steve Roach especially makes me happy.

  • Sounds like some Zodiac track's from 'In memoriam' album. Nice!

  • Thanks for the complements!! Sorry, I accidentally voted down your comment. I was aiming for the thumbs up, but hit the down :O

  • no problem :) have you ever heard Zodiac tracks?

  • no, I haven't, but I'll check it out!

  • If you don't find, write me a private message and I will give you a link or FTP access

  • This is like....MIND WARPING...

    I like it..!!!!

    1986 was a good year !!!

    Good work!!!

  • Thanks a lot, I really appreciate that!

  • Indeed a very special way to use a CZ synth. I'm impressed!

  • great job !

  • Thank you!!

  • Nice job. As the previous user said - great use of cz3000. I'll check whole album i think, although i'm not in ambient music so much.

  • Thanks for checking it out. I really appreciate it!

  • Thanks, and thanks for the input. I can see your point, but I think if you listen to the whole piece in context you'll see how the filter drops fit. I really appreciate it though. I really love your patches for the CZ, nice work!
