@FireFaun --lol i see what you did there!! You thought I was a stupid moron trying to sound smart! No I'm not a moron and no I don't wear leather. Nice try though! xD
@rahkshifan99 I know very sad I cry every time an new creature came into the world because some one will thrive to have some thing like that as a hat or whatever and sometimes will pay or do anything for it and then the other person would give in and it ends badly for every one of them.
Makes me wish I had money, I have always loved Ocelots. At least I can help how ever little it may be by sharing this video. Best of luck little ocelots.
@Salami90210 No, I disagree. HIGHLY. I'm not saying the music is bad, (i won't say my opinion) but hearing it over and over again from a video by an idiot who thinks that slapping on some stupid electronic song composed in five minutes using some overpriced synth software and an exaggerated voice modifier makes that persons video any better or more interesting in any way just makes me want to deafen myself. But then how could i listen to good music? Youtube, get it together. My thoughts. :D
Leopardus pardalis albescens range runs from Southern Texas all the way down Eastern Mexico. Mike Tewes is the Texas populations expert . Quote 09/09: "Every month that we check our remote cameras, we find new individuals that were previously unidentified." His estimate is baseless. Leopardus pardalis sonoriensis range runs from Southern Arizona down into northwestern Mexico. The AZ population is unstudied with sightings 02/2011. Ocelots will migrate from Mexico if suitable habitat exists.
Where did you get your "less than 100 in the wild" statistic? There are populations all over Central and South America that are not being studied or accounted for. Protect them from roadways at Laguna Atascosa National Wildlife Refuge & you will increase that population quickly. Protect other habitat and populations will grow. I don't understand how a zoo captive breeding a small number of animals in captivity is going to help the wild population. There are currently over 250 held by zoos.
@biomechanicalclone The video said 100 in the wild *in the US*, and Central & South America ain't in the US. Most of the experts seem to agree that the number of the subspecies found in the US (the Texas ocelot) is probably 50-100 in the wild.
