Ron Paul is correct that the Fed should be abolished but mistaken about going to a gold based policy because gold is a commodity that can still be hoarded. We should treat the paper currency as a commodity and allow it and ONLY IT to pay for taxes. That way the paper currency has value and can't be hoarded. Only use precious metals as a base if you can go to the bank and trade your paper for gold or silver.
