I hate to burst everyone's Gomez bubble, but when it comes to fastest ball player in the majors, there are a number of guys who can consistently outrun Gomez. For starters Ichiro is and has been recorded as fastest from home to first. Espn scouts have confirmed this in an issue of sports illustrated. Then the list of speed demons goes from Joey Gathright, Carl Crawford, Michael Bourn, THEN Carlos Gomez, followed by Jose Reyes.

The last special sports center did on the fastest man in baseball had Ichiro number 1, Crawford number 2, and Reyes number 3. Gomez got rushed to the majors.

He does have a little pop (but he certainly hasn't showed it at the major league level, as his ISO is below league averages (which is, like, around .150). He strikes out a lot and draws few walks.
