Clarke apparently cried watching 2001 when he saw the 11 minute scene of an astronaut running. He left. This was because he and Kubrick had little time for working together.
My name is David Damario from Canada. I was fortunate enought to have known Sir Arthur C Clarke in a small way...he touched everyone around him.....he was a giant...and we shall not see his like again on this small blue planet.
@AblePumper in regards to the conflict in the "dawn of man" portion of the film, i'd say the floyd tune is pretty appropriate. i think the tempo of the song also matches it well. but yes, terrific video!
I would have chosen music from 2001 itself; I don't feel what you chose fit, but oh well, I agree it's an amazing film. I just got through watching it on blu ray. Wow. Only disappointment is that the sound is boring old Dolby Digital. They need to put their blu ray version out with either DTS Master Audio, or Dolby TruHD.
Although your life's done, your legacy's just begun, and the surf of far seas and stars shall yet sound your songs and celebrate your dreams fulfilled.
I'm a paranormal investigator and although I didn't agree with many of his sceptical views, I looked up to Arthur C Clarke and always took a keen interest in his work. He was an incredibly intelligent man, he will be sadly missed, but never forgotten.
Dammit, now I'm feeling bad all over again for Sir Arthur's death. However, thank you. I gave you 5stars & added this vid to my channel. I'd have never seen this except for A.Panther, so thanks to him also.
