Agreed, SmokinJoeBleu...I thought Mark Sandman was a terrific talent, and I loved Morphine. But Jim Fitting's playing just knocks me out. My favorite harmonica guy. I saw them twice in NYC, at the Bottom Line and the Pyramid (now both gone).
One of the best rock and roll songs of all time. I heard this on the radio one day and couldn't believe what I was hearing. Then I got to really hear the lyrics later and was even more amazed/amused.
words fail here. I miss Mark Sandman THR and Morphine so f-ing much. I will always love his music and see him as a source of inspiration. R.I.P Mark, you music live in us all.
Just read all about Mark Sandman of Treat Her Right.I feel so sad it took me til now to find this man with such a great sexy voice, and deep bass self made guitar with one or two strings.Seems all really talented artist's are gone before their time♥ Died in Rome at 46 of a heart attack, on stage performing, on July 3,1999.♥ RIP Mark ♥
I have loved this for years, but never saw the video til now! Thank you so much ♥I think I like you that's what I think! LOL! ♥ msstevie ♥ Whatever happened to these guys?? Anyone know? ♥
I hadn't been able to listen to either THR or Morphine much since Sandman's death until now--a long time, I know. It was just too tragic to hear that sultry voice and know that it's gone forever. But I think I can now, lol.
I first heard THR in high school on the radio back in 1989 (and found a copy of one of their albums in a thrift store a few years after). Magic stuff, but it was Morphine that hooked me all up. I think I wore the tape out I had. So good--gone far too soon.
@BlackHelecopter Lowell Memorial Auditorium still the greatest show I ever saw - never saw it coming either.
I've seen all kinds of legends from different fields of Music but I've never heard anyone come even remotely close to Treat Her Right - they were definitely on their game. What those guys did with Roots Music was groundbreaking.
I saw Treat Her Right in Rochester, NY in the mid-80's. They remain one of the best bar bands I've ever heard. Sandman, it is told, died onstage in Italy, at a place where there was once an Oracle - The Oracle of the Lucky First Son. He had two younger brothers who both died young. Odd world this. So many mysteries....
That's how it's done. One of the best bar bands I've ever seen - circa 1984 in Rochester, NY. Dynamite stuff. I heard Snadman died at a place where there was once an oracle - the Oracle of the Lucky First Son. Both his younger brothers died young.
I LOVE this song/cd !!!! Saw them here in OKC in the 80s... Awww good times we had that nite !!!!! Ive looked for this CD forever and cant find it.. I wore the cassett out many moons ago
Tanks for your help, but still for some reason I can't see those videos, maybe it's a matter of country broadcasting or copyrights. Sometimes certain videos can't be seen in certain countries, but thank you anyway!
That's The Plough & Stars in Cambridge, MA. I'm pretty sure it's still there. They redid the interior a number of years ago, so it doesn't look quite the same as in this video. It's well worth checking out though.
I was just looking for this video yesterday and couldn't find it on here, and now here 'tis. SWEET! What a groove on this song, man, and MUCH better harmonica than you find on most rock albums. Fitting does himself proud.

I found this used LP when I was record-shopping in college during the early 00s. Still sounds good over a decade later. Thanks for posting this.

I saw Treat Her Right open for Robert Cray in Lowell.
It was an epiphany!
John Lee Hooker meets Jim Morrison on dawn's scattered highway.
Treat Her Right WAS THE SHOW and I dig Robert Cray but that night he walked into a whirlwind.
I've never been SO IMPRESSED with any Band before or after.
I think Treat Her Right was simply too good.
They really had it together.
