I love all the bottom feeder Americans who blame the lack of relief efforts on George W Bush. If the sorry excuse of a governor in Louisiana would've put her pride to the side and led federal government step in, many many many people wouldve been given better care and some even kept alive. It is the STATE GOVERNMENT's responsibility to man up and ask for federal aid. Blame Louisiana, NOT George W Bush. JEB BUSH 2012!!!!!!

@parlock480 What are you talking about? Obama is always the first to admit fault when something isn't up to par. Have you not read about his responses to the midterm election results, for example? He's taking responsibility for things that have nothing to do with him.
@brandie7654 If they did then they were trying to start crap or were just plain stupid. Honestly, I would like to see what Obama would do if this happend. Not because he'd fail (Cause he would) but to see how people like you would shift your views to the real problems like "The State Goverment" that knew the problems ahead of time and "The City Goverment".Then One guy on his 5th year wound'nt be blamed for Decades of crap swept under the levy by politians that you, infact, may have supported.
@armandx10 How is this even comparable? Both are environmental disasters, but Katrina gets the additional bonus of there being entire neighborhoods under water, and bodies floating in the fucking water for days with little to no governmental response. Obama's response to BP (and Chile, and Haiti -- I notice you failed to cite those far more similar cases) was far swifter and more effective a response.
@spideymayne Bush couldn't do anything about Katrina because of the law. Because of the checks and balances in place which limits the federal government's authority when it comes to state matters, Bush was unable to send in law enforcement to help. In order for him to have the authority to send in help he had to get permission from Governor Blanco first. She never signed the papers until after she realized she was in over her head, but ignorant people put the blame on Bush. Get educated people.
@spideymayne The reason why Obama was able to move so "swiftly" was because in those cases that you cited, the federal government has full authority. There's not a stubborn governor (like Blanco during Katrina) hold him up. You citing Haiti and Chile as instances where Obama showed his proficiency are completely irrelevant when comparing them to Bush and Katrina. It's like comparing apples to oranges.
@spideymayne In order for Bush (The Federal Government) to send in help, he needed the permission of Governor Blanco to do so. Blanco, didn't sign the papers until 5 days after Katrina hit. State governments always complain about federal government meddling until they don't know how to handle a situation.
@ESPNlllTheOcho This is weak reasoning. First of all, where is your proof of this? There are reports that say she was asking for help from The White House days before the crisis happened. I know for whatever reason, she wouldn't allow The Red Cross to enter LA, but that's a little bit different from refusing The President.
@ESPNlllTheOcho Second, even if she did refuse him, any leader worth his salt has a plethora of ways to make things happen in the middle of a crisis, and any state governor's ability to hold the leader of the free world at bay from assisting the biggest national disaster in U.S. history is nebulous at best. What point are you trying to make? Bush is exempt from this? Partisanship aside, why in the world would you defend him?
@spideymayne Regardless, the real blame is on the state and local governments. Any sensible person with basic intellectual ability can see that. Mayor Nagin and Governor Blanco handled the situation horribly. I will give them some leeway as something as catostrophic as Katrina was unprecedented, but the fact that over a 100 buses were unused and left in parking lots is beyond me. Especially when so many people claimed the reason they didnt evacuate was because they didn't have transportation.
@ESPNlllTheOcho I'm fine with that. I'm not necessarily excusing either of them, but I'm -also- saying that it's important to not excuse Bush's role in the disaster, either. If I remember reading correctly, New Orleans was a failure of architectural design dating back several decades that was never improved upon; a failure of the city's politicians to protect its people (they pissed away money on nonsense rather than re-designing the levees); and a lack of coordination on the part of its admin.
@spideymayne More blame to be put on the local and state governments. I'm sorry, but Bush is not the one at fault here. While there are things that are of his to blame, New Orleans and Katrina aren't one of them.
@LocoGroove No. I'm merely stating the facts. Obama's ability to move more "swiftly" had everything to do with the fact that in those instances the Federal Government had full authority. As for Bush and Katrina however, the State and Loval governments had jursidiction and by LAW, Bush couldn't help until he had the consent of Governon Blanco. Which she reluctantly gave days later.,
@ESPNlllTheOcho True, but won't you admit that Bush was a terrible president? Obama isn't even close to Bush. Bush jr.=The worst western leader of all time. All time.
@LocoGroove Let me ask you something, what about his presidency makes him the worst leader of all time? I'm not saying I disagree with you, nor am I saying I agree, but how do you justify the claim you just made?
@ESPNlllTheOcho Yes Bush was one of the worse president off all time. At the time, I really thought Bush was the devil himself. But seriously, Bush was the more humane person in his . He recognized his errors, his mistakes and how bad he handled crisis. His biggest failure was to choose and trust the worse idealists as influent members of the gov like Chenney and Rumsfeld. These guys where on another planet. Putting priorities on idealists issues and tying down the hands of competent people.
Takes our Government 5 days to reach New Orleans - Someone in Africa steps on a thumb tack and our Government comes to the rescue within an hour. Try and figure that out !
That's partially true, however; if the state and local government fail to prepare for natural disasters accordingly, its the federal government job to step in. This is the reason why Bush should be held responsible for his lack of action and it was also a disaster to his so-called presidential legacy.

Bush has absolutely horrendous speaking skills...he is so ridiculously vague and sarcastic in everything he says...but that being said, people are acting like Bush created the hurricane...its not easy to get supplies down there like that
If it were around his Texas ranch or some upper-class suburb, where his cabinet members are from, federal aid would have been provided at an alarming pace. Do you think Beverly Hills would have gone through the same predicament as New Orleans?
He didn't apologize. He said "I take full responsibility", which is just a blatant lie, because he didn't, or did YOU see him take ANY responsibility?
Well, we can hang him, then and only then he "took full responsibility".

Conducting his "transparent", shady business deals behind closed doors. Covering up his school performance records, Supporting most Bush decisions.
@puppetmasterstrings stealing 2 elections, having rumsfeld come out on sept 10th, 2001 saying um we have no idea where 2.3 trillion dollars went which is a pretty convenient day to tell the american ppl that
@CALICOTV301 i agree, it is a debt crisis, more now then when bush was in office, in all of 8 years bush was 4 trillion in debt, in all of 3 years obama is 14 trillion in debt, its not good at all, i had high hopes for obama, i voted for him, i wanted him in so bad for change, but now he has really upset me, it sucks he didnt really help at all, i dont think another 4 years of him will be good, then again i dont know who would do the job good either they all scare me
@TheMattd546 Matt, I think you are thinking like the rest off the close-minded world. Because he hasn't personally tucked you in at night, he's not doing anything. Presidency nor the economy doesn't work like that. Type in 100 accomplishments from Obama, just to give you a start. These things don't happen overnight. However, Obama is a clear minded and less greedy than the other guys that will be there. Economists say they will make it worst. You have to destroy to build
@TheMattd546 Matt, without these bailouts, we'd be screwed. If banks aren't bailed out, homeowners aren't, etc. people would be screwed. The money is needed. Otherwise, banks would collapse, and other places. People would be out of jobs. No jobs, no spending, and more crime as well. Then people would have to pay more tax maybe, more homelessness and so forth. It wouldn't be good
@TheMattd546 Matt, check this out, type in ---US Debt Crisis - 2012 is only for America. You'll see why America is in this. It's a lose lose situation. We have to be in debt. Obama is trying to repair our previous misspending. He just so happened to have grappled it at the bottom. But, either decision he makes, he'll disappoint someone. But no banks, wow. It would be a huge problem. So, if he cuts spending, many companies would collapse. He can raise taxes though
@CALICOTV301 the only thing is, how long are they going to blame other administrations? its been a long time, i can see blaming someone b/4 you, for about a year, but not 3 years later, i just dont know about obama, he strikes me as a week president now, i thought he was strong but now im not sure, i dont think he will get in again, i think alot of other canidates would be able to do the same as he's done so far
@TheMattd546 Well...you have that if I had you a gallon of water that at the last drop, who do I blame until it gets to that point? Now, with that gallon of water. I say, you do 1 of 2 things, but only 1. Either a. You give that last drop to a dehydrating woman who is about to die from thirst or you throw it on someone who is on fire. It's a lose lose no?
@TheMattd546 It's was a mismanagement of money. Yes, they said Reagan ran the debt up extremely high. So, it's not blaming. But if people are saying this 1 guy is doing this damage, then it's not. Anybody who gets in office will be terrible at this point. However, I'd rather have a clear minded compassionate guy, than some leech who is greedy and doesn't care about you as much as his money. These republicans can only resonate with the prententious white collared folks, not the blue collared
@TheMattd546 Lastly, here's the catch Matt, as stated in the video. There are ONLY two ways we can get money back. 1. Cut spending. That means no more banks bailouts and things of that nature. Well...that puts a lot of people out of work. That leads to a worse situation including crime and things like that. No loans, no money to spend. So, where does the govs money come from? or 2. You increase taxes, that puts more of a burden on people. So, it's either put us in debt, or increase taxes
@TheMattd546 At the end of the day, the money has to come from somewhere. Now, if you want programs out here to help people, it has to be paid for. If Uncle Sam only makes 2.5 Trillion and everything comes to roughly 4 trillion a year, things get bad every year just by default. Now...people will complain about more taxes. So, let me ask you, how would you suggest getting us out of this? America has been too cocky and careless with spending. Now we are between a rock and hard spot
@CALICOTV301 i agree with ya there, i think that to get out of the mess, we gotta for 1 get back from iraq and afghan, it was good that we went there, but its time to come home, that will save billions, and stop banks from doing crazy loans that people cant pay, stuff like that, so far none of these things are done, so it wont get better anytime soon, as soon as some of these things get done, things will look a little better, i think
@TheMattd546 Yeah, absolutely! It's a rock and a hard spot situation. Even with jobs. I mean, if places need to save money, which means they have no money to give out, how can they pay people? People think there are no jobs just because people don't feel like hiring. Nope, they have 0 money. Make jobs? Well, where? You can't just build a bridge in a random spot simply to employ construction workers, it has to be useful and save money in the long run ya know? So, we've pushed ourselves too far.
@TheMattd546 Another things is, the government is so confusing. So, while one person says A is better, another says B is better. Now, someone is in office for 4 years working towards turning the country around, he's out and a new person with a new strategy is in office with a different strategy and goes a totally different directiion. It's all based on "try this and let's see if it works!" It's why the prices are going up, the dollar is worth less. It will continue to until a soda is $12
Yall must think Bush is Supermen or Santa Claus or God-- Bush didnt not cause the Storm--and inspite of what Farrakhan claimed (since when do we believe ole Farry anyway)-- Bush did not blow up the Levies-- and dammit it-- Niggas shouldve left New Orleans like everyone else did-- I bet if it was a Ludachris concert or a freaknic outside of New Orleans they azz wouldve found a way to get there! DAMN!
"I take responsibility " Hmm by anyone who has even a basic understanding of the english language that is admitting a mistake, He never said he was apologizing those were the words of the person that posted the video. Get off the "it's cool to hate Bush" Band wagon and pay attention to whats being said.
Whoa. Yes, Basically what he said was "Katrina was responsible for exposing his lack of empathy towards common Americans. I'm the reason they didn't do what they should" Basically because he told then not to do anything. I think his a lot trickier than people give him credit for, underestimating him is how he fooled us all into the election and iran war.
jesus this guys entire presidency has been full of screw ups and mistakes. Bush was the chance for Americans to show that we can get a horrible president out of office. Apparently nobody cares.
George W Bush exposed serious problems in the Executive level of government as well as within his own meager brain's level of character judgement to appoint somebody like Mike Brown. Either he thought he was adequate...in which case he really is retarded. Or he just appointed a cronie (a reach, i know) in which case he is heartless, evil and unfit to represent me as an American who has had to work to become the person i am today. goddamn. where's sirhan sirhan when you need him?

@TheMattd546 "We are dealing with a Debt Crisis" - George Bush. Einstein, what does the word CRISIS mean to you?
CALICOTV301 5 months ago
@CALICOTV301 i agree, it is a debt crisis, more now then when bush was in office, in all of 8 years bush was 4 trillion in debt, in all of 3 years obama is 14 trillion in debt, its not good at all, i had high hopes for obama, i voted for him, i wanted him in so bad for change, but now he has really upset me, it sucks he didnt really help at all, i dont think another 4 years of him will be good, then again i dont know who would do the job good either they all scare me
TheMattd546 5 months ago
@TheMattd546 Matt, I think you are thinking like the rest off the close-minded world. Because he hasn't personally tucked you in at night, he's not doing anything. Presidency nor the economy doesn't work like that. Type in 100 accomplishments from Obama, just to give you a start. These things don't happen overnight. However, Obama is a clear minded and less greedy than the other guys that will be there. Economists say they will make it worst. You have to destroy to build
CALICOTV301 5 months ago
@TheMattd546 Matt, without these bailouts, we'd be screwed. If banks aren't bailed out, homeowners aren't, etc. people would be screwed. The money is needed. Otherwise, banks would collapse, and other places. People would be out of jobs. No jobs, no spending, and more crime as well. Then people would have to pay more tax maybe, more homelessness and so forth. It wouldn't be good
CALICOTV301 5 months ago
@TheMattd546 Matt, check this out, type in ---US Debt Crisis - 2012 is only for America. You'll see why America is in this. It's a lose lose situation. We have to be in debt. Obama is trying to repair our previous misspending. He just so happened to have grappled it at the bottom. But, either decision he makes, he'll disappoint someone. But no banks, wow. It would be a huge problem. So, if he cuts spending, many companies would collapse. He can raise taxes though
CALICOTV301 5 months ago
@CALICOTV301 the only thing is, how long are they going to blame other administrations? its been a long time, i can see blaming someone b/4 you, for about a year, but not 3 years later, i just dont know about obama, he strikes me as a week president now, i thought he was strong but now im not sure, i dont think he will get in again, i think alot of other canidates would be able to do the same as he's done so far
TheMattd546 5 months ago
@TheMattd546 Well...you have that if I had you a gallon of water that at the last drop, who do I blame until it gets to that point? Now, with that gallon of water. I say, you do 1 of 2 things, but only 1. Either a. You give that last drop to a dehydrating woman who is about to die from thirst or you throw it on someone who is on fire. It's a lose lose no?
CALICOTV301 5 months ago
@TheMattd546 It's was a mismanagement of money. Yes, they said Reagan ran the debt up extremely high. So, it's not blaming. But if people are saying this 1 guy is doing this damage, then it's not. Anybody who gets in office will be terrible at this point. However, I'd rather have a clear minded compassionate guy, than some leech who is greedy and doesn't care about you as much as his money. These republicans can only resonate with the prententious white collared folks, not the blue collared
CALICOTV301 5 months ago
@TheMattd546 Lastly, here's the catch Matt, as stated in the video. There are ONLY two ways we can get money back. 1. Cut spending. That means no more banks bailouts and things of that nature. Well...that puts a lot of people out of work. That leads to a worse situation including crime and things like that. No loans, no money to spend. So, where does the govs money come from? or 2. You increase taxes, that puts more of a burden on people. So, it's either put us in debt, or increase taxes
CALICOTV301 5 months ago
@TheMattd546 At the end of the day, the money has to come from somewhere. Now, if you want programs out here to help people, it has to be paid for. If Uncle Sam only makes 2.5 Trillion and everything comes to roughly 4 trillion a year, things get bad every year just by default. Now...people will complain about more taxes. So, let me ask you, how would you suggest getting us out of this? America has been too cocky and careless with spending. Now we are between a rock and hard spot
CALICOTV301 5 months ago
@CALICOTV301 i agree with ya there, i think that to get out of the mess, we gotta for 1 get back from iraq and afghan, it was good that we went there, but its time to come home, that will save billions, and stop banks from doing crazy loans that people cant pay, stuff like that, so far none of these things are done, so it wont get better anytime soon, as soon as some of these things get done, things will look a little better, i think
TheMattd546 5 months ago
@TheMattd546 Yeah, absolutely! It's a rock and a hard spot situation. Even with jobs. I mean, if places need to save money, which means they have no money to give out, how can they pay people? People think there are no jobs just because people don't feel like hiring. Nope, they have 0 money. Make jobs? Well, where? You can't just build a bridge in a random spot simply to employ construction workers, it has to be useful and save money in the long run ya know? So, we've pushed ourselves too far.
CALICOTV301 5 months ago
@TheMattd546 Another things is, the government is so confusing. So, while one person says A is better, another says B is better. Now, someone is in office for 4 years working towards turning the country around, he's out and a new person with a new strategy is in office with a different strategy and goes a totally different directiion. It's all based on "try this and let's see if it works!" It's why the prices are going up, the dollar is worth less. It will continue to until a soda is $12
CALICOTV301 5 months ago
@CALICOTV301 i agree with ya there, hopefully whatever happends, its for the better, we'll see

"I take responsibility " Hmm by anyone who has even a basic understanding of the english language that is admitting a mistake, He never said he was apologizing those were the words of the person that posted the video. Get off the "it's cool to hate Bush" Band wagon and pay attention to whats being said.
darkark101 3 years ago
that was an apology?? thought i am sorry was. did anyone hear that at any time? did i miss it?
mountain19 3 years ago
Ok so where is the apology? We already know you aren't doing your job right and it's your fault.
I didn't hear "I'm sorry".
AVTPro 4 years ago 4
NO shit... That is exactly what I said!! I don't think he can pronounce apology or possibly even sorry!
019savage 4 years ago 3
AVTPro 4 years ago
the people should have been smart enough to get out when they had the chance. it is no ones fault.

...its not the response capabilities...its the fact that he put an incompetent douchebag without any expierience (michael brown) as a head of FEMA
manny4life 4 years ago 2
George W Bush exposed serious problems in the Executive level of government as well as within his own meager brain's level of character judgement to appoint somebody like Mike Brown. Either he thought he was adequate...in which case he really is retarded. Or he just appointed a cronie (a reach, i know) in which case he is heartless, evil and unfit to represent me as an American who has had to work to become the person i am today. goddamn. where's sirhan sirhan when you need him?
