Back in the eigth grade my buddy hated the Screaming Trees but like a year late she comes to me at school and says Chanel I LOVE THE SCREAMING TREES i managed to brainwash my friend into liking them :)
These guys are great, every bit as good as better known groups like AIC and Pearl Jam, so why is it that I've never really heard about these guys? What else is the industry keeping us out of the loop about? You really gotta wonder.
Screaming Trees were one of the most under rated bands around. Lanegan's vocals are amazing. His solo albums are also some of the best music ever made
In my opinion, Dust is one of the greatest albums ever recorded.
if only the kids in my generation (actually I'm 14) listened to quality music like QOTSA, Kyuss, Hendrix, Screaming Trees and so on we would be better off in life but yet they all listen to this horse shit that they call music
Brilliant! Great music, great voice. Why's music these days so shitty and conformative!? Grr, i swear if i could sing or was any good on drums or guitar i'd fuckin start my own band and kick ass!
NOT ATTACKING YOU MAN!! Good point! :) Just a small opinion piece!! :) School Kills Creativity too, My experience, teaches you to act in a certain way, to do things the way every one else does them!! Social Media leads to the development of creativity of utilising the internet to spread a message or sell a product!! ive learned more about life and how to promote online than in a class!!

this rules. they were so good with josh homme. i maybe downloaded illegaly an unreleased album that was meant to come out after 'dust', and it's amazing. track it down if you can, not that i'm condoning that kind of thing. oh yeh.. i agree orange amps rock.
The Screaming Trees was the most underrated and unrecognized band of the "grunge" movement of the early '90s. This despite the fact that they were incredibly innovative, talented, and soulful.
I saw M. Lanegan singing with the Soulsavers in Washington DC last week -- the show was awesome; transcendant and uplifting. Lanegan possesses one of the great voices of our time. Too bad he's so under appreciated here in the U.S.
where have I heard this riff before 1:03

I saw this tour. lanegan was so fucked up. it was very sad. he could barely perform. Look how skinny he is.

He looks like death!

@1clock1
I saw this tour also. At least twice. Lanegan was much better in '97 and '98 than '96.

i thought Screaming Trees were grunge, this sounds nothing like grunge
acepple95 2 years ago
there is no specific grunge sound man. Alice is considered grunge by many, not to me. They've got numerous styles of music.

All of the "grunge" bands were different, it was just a term for a Seattle band.

Check out some of the Gutter Twins stuff especially the Evening with Greg Dulli and Lanegan stuff. It is great.
Actually Marks voice is not in top form power wise on this one.

Nowadays everything is so conservative, and kids dress like and listen too the same music as their parents. Its shit.

that's because most of them are going to suffer from some sort of identity crisis later in their life...
the new generations are getting dumber, and dumber, not that it's their fault.
But computers and television are killing the creativity of the youth.

Almost like mass consumer brainwashing
They dont make music the way they used to - thank god ol' lanegan is still about though.
