@cheapcape LOL, how about you yanks keep whining about your lost jobs and busted economy. As your auto jobs disintegrate I'll laugh as Toyota, Nissan and Hyundai invest in plants in non union Southern states. I travel all over the US weekly and laugh every time I see a northern town in shambles.
May the righteous ghosts of sacred Dixieland march beside all southerners in struggle against Federal tyranny! Dixieland is the American spirit in every form and fashion. May the Word of Jesus Christ forever guide Dixie.
@AllahConsciousness - lol. "Jesus". Yeah, I think even Jesus was hiding when General Sherman (the real God) came to Dixie. Seriously - Study some history. Sherman kicked the SHIT outta dixie. Oh, you guys should be so proud. Proud for taking an ass whipping but then again, Jesus got his ass whipped by the Romans. Does getting whipped turn you guys on or something? All your heroes are the losers. I'm more of a Sherman & the Yankees & Caesar & the Romans then the losers of history.
@Zeeboe Wow, if you look at the past, Rome fell, rather violently. And you support the killing of unarmed civilians? How northern of you. It is one of God's commandments to not have idols before him, you just said Sherman is the "real god". There is only one real God, I don't think he would appreciate your comments. Jesus, a loser? Not really, seeing as he was only dead for 3 days, and he made it so that we don't have to go to Hell for our sins.
@TheBoberton - Rome is not dead. I like to think of the U.S.A. as the new Rome.
I was only joking around about the killing of unarmed civilians and I am not even a Northern. I'm a Texan, but you should not assume because a person is from the North that they are bad men. Plenty of Sherman's men were from the South. I was also only joking around about Sherman being the real god, but if there was any God in deep Dixie in 1864, Sherman was the close's to being a God because he had all the power.
@AllahConsciousness - As I told Boberton elsewhere, the bible would not support what the rebels did. If the Christian God is real, he would have been a Yankee.
@Zeeboe Nope, if he supported any side, he would be British. But, as it is, he supports everyone and no one. And yet, for Sherman to get "all the power" he had to kill innocent civilians. Real great way to go down in history.
@TheBoberton - Well, he had to defeat an army before gaining access to those innocent civilians. He shouldn't have hurt them though. I realize he was probably angry for all the anti-U.S.A. remarks, feelings and parades those people had when the war first started, but Sherman should have just been satisfied knowing he defeated the army of his foes and captured their towns.
Hurting women and children was not necessary. Unless one of them was attacking a troop or not following orders, there would be no reason to jail them and unless it was in self-defense, there would be no reason to hurt them either.
Sherman was trying to get inside the heads of his enemies and doing whatever he needed to do to win. That's why he did what he did. I don't agree with it however and he should have followed the laws of war.
thanks for that i love it (proud SCV member)
