What maybe helpfull is if you were to imagine the rabbi walking home.
On the way he bumps into a man crying his eyes out and struggling to stand up because he has obviously been drinking. This man tells the Rabbi that he is distaught because yesterday a thoughtless drunk driver killed his brother. He then pulls out his car keys to get into his own car.

But this is not what I see. I see him saying "barrage of generalizations." Is the murder of Shlomo Nativ, a 13-year-old, with an axe, a generalization? What is generalized here? If rockets falling on Southern Israel is too general, the rabbi can find out specific numbers and dates and places on which they fell, who was killed or injured, when, etc. (cont.)

But i would say that just as it would be a gross generalization to say that jews as a whole are child killers because the Israeli military kill children - it is equally mistaken to refer to the palestinians living in Gaza as one homogeneous group guilty of the crimes of those who fire the rockets.

1. because israelis and palestineans where fueding, the palestineans attacking the israelis because they occupy their land and the israelis attacking because they want to wipe out the palestineans out of what they see as their "god given land".
2. they pulled out of gaza so they could expand more agressively in the west bank.

I do agree with you that it is important to highlight Israeli illegality-but only alongside that of the Palestinians. I sympathise with the view of many in Israel also who say that for every terror attack they will build a settelment in the west back. Now, whilst two wrongs do not make a right, it strikes me that that is the option which is least likely to inflict Loss of life and displace arabs in the area. Unless people accept Israel's right to respond to terror i see no other option.

Rabbi, I am happy to hear your voice. I love the fact that Jews are being so fair-minded and make both the strongest supporters and critics of the regime. The problem is that their opponents are not being so fair-minded and it starts looking like too many people are disagreeing with Israel.
