  • I'm a smoker and I'm sick to death of price hikes on cigarettes due to peoples apparent concern about health. Every day I see more and more people addicted to salt sugar and saturated fat riding around on carts made for handicapped people because their fat ass is to lazy to walk.

  • had to drop a comment, i totally agree with you, even tho i don't live in USA. But we still have ''warning'' labels here.

Wanted to add one more point on why is it bad to have those labels on,

how could smokes ever have good and decent package, that is attractable to customers if they put those kind of images on them? by putting any kinds of labels on the product they are taking right of companies to promote and sell their product...

  • what state r u in?

  • With or without the scare tacticts, it's still a personal choice wether or not someone smokes.

  • Do you think cannabis should be legalized?

  • @Nomiss9 No I don't. My family has a history with drugs in which two have died...I have zero tolerance. No exceptions

  • @ThreeCatsScratching I've never heard of anyone dying from cannabis.

  • @Nomiss9 it's a drug so it goes on my no list. I don't care what stoners say, or what 'tests' they've conducted. It's a drug and illegal and all states that have it as medicinal needs to have all of their federal money pulled.

  • @ThreeCatsScratching What the hell?! So is alcohol! Alcohol is more harmful and makes some people violent. Do you want alcohol to be banned again?

  • @Nomiss9 I have seen what pot can lead to. You will never convince me legalizing it is a good thing.

  • @ThreeCatsScratching I've seen what alcohol can lead to. You will never convince me that banning it is a good idea.

  • @Nomiss9 Not trying to convince you. Just telling you my thoughts on the issue. I say no to legalization.

  • @ThreeCatsScratching But isn't the existing FDA label an encroachment as well? Why does the old label get a pass, but not the new one?

  • @StrikaAmaru it's nothing but a scare tactic. How would you like it if you went to buy a pack of condoms and there was a picture if a infection festered penis on it? Or would rater READ the benefits of wearing one?

  • whats next are they going to put pictures of dead babies on booze bottles? I am a former smoker & personally these pictures wouldnt have bothered me or stopped me & as the game I think most of us know at 14yrs old it wouldnt have stopped us it woulda been a dare if anything but we woulda smoked still cuz kids have superman complex- this is just a excuse for Big Bro & SIS to do what they want as they want- they have testing the waters to see just how much freedom the fools are willing to give up!

  • yeh, your an idiot XD

  • @MrO4oxygen yeh you can suck my cock

  • Used to smoke myself

"New" pictures are very OK by me

Tax on nicotine has reason, costs a fortune to care for all that gets sick.

Smoking is your choice, but even as a smoker I HATED walking in to an indoor place where people had smoked - it stinks like hell, was not so bad when I smoked, but after I quit my sense of smell got back and I get gag reflexes now!

Oh, these pictures are not the end of UK ideas for smoking - They are now going to be forced to be sold nondescript brown packs.

  • Law about not smoking indoors is a good thing, public or "private" (offices, private schools, gyms etc) where these places are used by both "sides".

I do not however agree with the ban for places such as cigar shops/clubs where the entire idea is based around the smoking culture.

The "new" pictures will not scare anyone already addicted, they will only laugh at it as exampled above with the "game" - but for a 14 year old thinking about starting to smoke...?

    They'll think twice I believe!

  • @magicmelonman then your government should have the right to ban them. Here, many people pay for their insurance, and regardless as to whether or not they go to a public hospital, the government can not ban them here. They tried it once with alcohol, it didn't work.

  • @magicmelonman but if people still smoke, it's not working. This case is actually going to court soon. It wouldn't surprise me the government, said cigarettes have to covered up like dirt magazines

  • @magicmelonman if your government (US or UK) has resorted to using scare tactics, they know they are in a losing battle

  • I don`t smoke. I think the new warnings(Pictures) are too extreme. I don`t think the Government try to influence you for not smoking ETC! The Government should keep out of private business. They can`t run their own business.
