you can use paper tape. place the tape around the ends and lay flat on a broad. it would be the same as getting paper ready for watercolors. hope this helps! have fun!
@blueguitar77 You can certainly try! I don't know for sure though. I've watched a few others of these ebru videos and the painters mix their own paints. Maybe you can Google how they mix them, if there's a special way to make the oil lighter or something. Because I know if the paint is too heavy it'll sink off the water and not transfer correctly. @blueguitar77 My mom used to do that when I was a kid. If I remember correctly it's an oil based paint, which is how it floats on the water.
