@transebotic, the suit is pretty scratched up and battered after the parade, trick-or-treating, and play at home. It still works, but it is a bit rough. I don't think you would want to buy it. I appreciate your interest in it, though.

Well, she was able to do it herself, it just took her longer. :)

I gave her a hand in this video just to speed it up a bit. She was also tired at this point because it was right after walking in the Halloween parade.

Absolutely correct. The vast majority of Transformer toys have the head concealed (I can only think of three off hand that have the head in the cockpit/seat, I'm sure there are a small number I'm forgetting). The choice to have her head exposed came about later in the design process. I decided I wanted to have both forms be fun for her and not have her staring at cardboard or the ground while in car mode.

Well, originally, Arcee was a car, back in 86. She was a pink Cybertronian sports car.

This costume is not based on any specific character. It is most similar in structure/transformation to the original Bumblebee (84), with a bit of original Autobot car aesthetic (door wings), and custom coloration. The helmet is based a bit on Arcee.

Aside from the engineering and actual construction, the design is a product of my daughters preferences. She also chose a name for her character, that of a female Autobot from the 80s cartoon named Chromia. The names on her license plate. Chromia was not pink, but my daughter really likes the name.

Im afraid I cant post detailed instructions. I didnt think to take in-progress photos.

Basically, I took profile photos of her standing and crouching to plan the transformation. I traced her full size crouched profile on a piece of cardboard which I used to determine measurements. From there, I just figured out each component as I went along. I did the feet/hood pieces first, as they were the most complicated parts.

I used cardboard, Velcro strips, rare earth magnets, exercise mat foam, small lights (made to clip to a baseball cap), small switches, reflectors, and spray paint.
