I'm surprised at how people present themselves at these fairs. Most are dressed well, but most are dressed like they're going to the mall. Thats just wrong. You MUST dress for success, it says so much about how truly serious and professional you are EVEN if its working as a driver or in a hotel.

They seem like good people, but c'mon, dressed in jeans & a hat or in big thuggy white t-shirts???

And if you wear a suit, don't let it droop to one side... and or carry a shopping bag. Eesh.

im sorry guys but these fairs are a joke. the companies at these fairs usually have no intention of hiring anyone. most of the time companies have a clipboard at their table for people to sign to show how many people just showed up. many companies get a kick back or rebate from the government just to say that they were looking for employees. just like to get unemployment people have to say they are actively looking for work.

there are no cotton picking jobs, its done by machine.

But they also need to be careful about who they are hiring, so it could take some time to go through it. I'm just glad the American people has a chance like this now.

@Mikkhep i agree, they should but many are not hired this way. its not the governments or company's fault but the design motivates companies to have these useless fairs. many of them are coordinated by local and fed gov departments so that these companies can get paid just to show up so looks like companies are happy waiting for employees. about 80 percent of jobs are gained by word of mouth. most of the jobs i ve gotten were though a friend of a friend or some other soical network.

Seriously, what jobs exist in Miami? Service jobs with no benefits, tourism jobs for teenagers, maybe nurses for the older crowd, but aside from illicit drug businesses, I don't see how anyone makes a living down there. Wages are depressed too.

I applied to over 50 jobs in a year...so if you do the math, that is a resume every week for an entire year...
