LOVE the orchestral arrangement! He is a wonderful performer -- and the song is great for him. I have only heard Frederica perform this piece -- but David does it justice!
More countertenors should definitely venture into musicals and jazz. This voice type seems to work very good in these styles too (this being a showtunes-like song).
Wow. No matter how much I realize it's him singing, a countertenor always looks like he's lip syncing. He is quite good. I've never heard an orchestral version of this piece. What fun!
For all of the people that say stupid things about "sissy" or other dumb things in other video posts....People get over yourselves. This man has a magnificent voice, one that comes around once in a blue moon. Leave your prejudice and shallow minded thinking at home...better yet, just stay home and do us all a favor. David DQ Lee is an incredible musician and artist.
When one sees him one begins to comprehend the extraordinary sexual effect the castrati had on their audiences in the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries.
It's the richest, most mellifluous voice and...it's sexy, and it's masculine too.
@zimnaya Masculine. Are you insane? Maybe to you it is. You obviously have a fetish for falsettos. And what "sexual effect" did the castrati have on their audiences? Back this up. I see NOTHING sexual about this at all.
No I am not insane. Nor do I have a fetish for falsetti - most leave me cold. It is well documented that Farinelli and others had an extraordinary effect on their audiences. Women fainted and had to be unlaced, and men were often reduced to tears. I am sorry that so many of today's 'critics' appear to have lost that sensibility to beauty, to art and to the physical perfection of voices such as David Lee's.
Oh, and by the way, don't tell me to 'back up' - only vehicles do that.
So extraordinary! so musical and so fun!

Falsetto. Pure and simple. In other words, drag singing.

This is unbelievable, and very entertaining. I'm doing this piece and I love the way he acts it as well as sings it.

Unbelievable stuff.
You wouldn't happen to be able to upload Shen Yang's material from this contest? Would be much appreciated if you had it.
