Yes it was. The only thing it lacked was the changing of the prize at each square, something PYL had that I love. The DVD game of PYL has a board that runs pretty fast too.
Here's what I think of Second Chance. The question round was full of strategy & worthy of the name second chance. The big board round was a strict game of chance that seemed to take inspiration from Barry & Enright bonus rounds; a very good way to take inspiration. Jim Peck knew what to do to conduct the game although he could have used a little more personality. Only one flaw, no extra spins; a situation could occur where you cannot win. Other that Second Chance gets 4 stars; a good beginning.
Along with Matt Dorf, Maggie Brown and Jack Campion would go on to appear on the pilot to "Press Your Luck." Maggie would also appear on the regular PYL as a contestant.
This must have wowed at least a few people in the 70's.
What amazes me is the speed of the board. i'd like to see Larson study that before his brain explodes.

The Second Chance big board was a lot more faster than the one on Press Your Luck.

It's too bad not many of these exist. They'd go well in a block on GSN with PYL and Whammy!
