Great band, incredibly underappreciated... I grew up in Nixa, Missouri when they hit and remember seeing Supe and a couple of others eating lunch at the Tastee Freeze there when I was 12 or so... My friend pointed out who they were (and with their hair you couldn't mistake them) and we eavesdropped on them talking about working on their current album (It'll Shine When It Shines)... They have a great sound and can rock with the best of 'em...
@junglemanlawyer1 Ozark Mountain Daredevils was a Kaleidoscope of various kind of songs. In this case I think you can call it a mountain-country-a little bit progressive-tune. Hope it help. But they made commercial country rock too and no.commercial -bucholic kind. Usually in their first and best LP they putted two country songs, two commercial country.rock songs a-la Eagles ("One of these night oriented") and some slow mesmering tunes. Bye From italy.
Ik herinner me lettend op dit op OGWT in 1976 en de volgende dag, gaf opdracht ik tot het Lange het Spelen Album dit spoor waarop was. Ik heb het nog en speel vaak het.
@gersao100 Hi dude, You can download this video and many more youtube videos, with the aTube catcher, atube catcher is a software that permits you download videos or only the music of the videos from youtube in different formats, like avi, wmv, mp4, etc, download it :D !
I actually watched this live on the telly, probably after trying to shove a safety pin through my ear. Punk hadn't been invented. What a world it was. Musical Apple Pie & Cold Chips.
These are a little too country music for me to have picked up on them before. Beautiful poem at the start - always has me sold. Nice lyrics to follow and Rocker53zero is right about the harmony. I know all Gibsons can be described as wonderful but I love the sound of that model - what is it? Thanks for pointing me this way...
Gustavo, let me paint a picture for you, 1978, I was 14, lived at the Lake of the Ozarks, working full time in the summer so I had a little money, was heavily into OMD and lets just say some fine herbal enhancement made for a time in my life I will always remember. These fine gentlemen are the real deal.
Well the Ozarks are situated in southern Missouri and spilling down into northern Arkansas. The Lake of the Ozarks is in about the middle south of Missouri, a very scenic, large man-made lake that has become somewhat populated and commercialized but still lots of fun.
Oh...I'll gladly get a beer for any yankee who asks....we have so many great beers here, I don't blame you for asking for one. I know I always hate drinking that "piss" you guys have down when I vacation in the U.S.A. Anyway, feces breath....you gotta seriously listen to some Eagles before you make blasphemous comments like you just did. Oh and also learn how to spell, talk, etc. Or are you just a redneck as you appear to be. If so, pardon me all to hell!
i used to sing this to myself as I walked along the oceanfront in Santa Barbara. The sky would be full of stars and I would feel so happy -this song always expressed the sense of gratitude for just being alive and....20! :)
Thankyou Lord, you made it right. And thanks to Whispering Bob for having the Ozarks on his show, The Whistle test was the best ever stage for Progressive and Quality music of all kinds.
And thank you rocker53zero for sending this my way.Love this group for Jackie Blue but never heard this one! Love the Whistle Test too! So much great music comes from there stage!
thnks for posting this video. went to see them in liverpool on this uk tour in 76. brings back lots of memories, none more than the encore when there were wives and babes in arms on stage. wonderful times.
wow, how diverse can the 70's get ! remember this is where alot of the 90's and more music came from. maybe not this song, but i would like to see all the new kids, play such a great diversity of instruments... not gonna happen today, with all this great.. easy to play technology the kids have today. every muscian should respect what it takes to play a wide variety of instruments, and make it sound good.. it's not easy...
Kind of greasy, but I really like these guys. Very underated Southern Rock. They should be recognized for songs like this and not just "Jackie Blue" and "If You Wanna Get To Heaven"
Yeah, it sure was made right and this song helps to keep me reminded of that.
