Inductive power transfer have maybe 10% loss or more.

I see a future there the main roads (freeways, motorways) have some sort of power transfer to the vehicles tthat is adequate for both propulsion and charaging batteries, while for driving off the (powered) main roads the vehicles use their internal batteries.

(I don't remember the price right now) I do remember that just to reserve the thing you needed to plunk down 25K (TO RESERVE!!!) I've driven this car. I lived in Japan. The car has only one seat because of Japanese laws that govern vehicle design. More seats mean much stricter laws which are hard to meet for a small company.

BTW. average Japanese people aren't very inventive as a whole. Those who design things within Japanese companies are good at making things work well though. The average American is much more inventive. There isn't much DIY culture there.
