BTW PEOPLE OF EARTH NOTE THIS: notice how at 0:30-0:32 she slams the bag and it lands pratically perfectly RIGHT SIDE UP. this proves that she is indeed Marry Poppins. Magic i tell you!
@groovygirl23, oh, thanks a lot for correcting! i don't remember, why i believed this to be Ed Sullivan, - maybe because JA writes in "Home", that the only records of her in MFL are from The ES show.
The voice of Julie Andrews is, after all, much more amazing and powerful than that of Marni Nixon. Her singing perfomances were just sensational. And her name is truly immortal.
She is so amazing! Though as unwilling as I am to admit it, I feel that Audrey Hepburn performed this part of the musical with slightly more grace in the film, although Julie's singing is better by far.
as far as i know, all the reels with that performance were removed, unfortunately, because of copyright. none of them i can find now, though several months ago i saw them here on youtube :-(
you can tell that is Marry Poppins. Notice how she throws the bag and it lands perfectly right-side-up!! Magic, I tell you, she is not from this planet.
Who is the guy?

This is glorious but it's not from Ed Sullivan. It's from a 1962 special about Lerner and Lowe hosted by Maurice Chevalier.
Thanks for posting. It's sensational.
