Have u ever dropped it on the floor? I did, and it sounded like yours. Also remember to hold the ball firmly while it's spinning. Why? Go to the FAQ section of powerballs[DOT]com. The answer is found under "General questions"

I didn't drop it.
There are so many degrees to what one feels would be firm enough.
With my second powerball and experience I feel that firm enough is only what feels silky smooth in hand. All the rest damages the ball in time, surely and slowly.
The first one is now like a tractor diving from 8000 meters. ... for plowing the earth or something :)
