  • hey, i got the flying rooster then i did the eagles tower it dissapeared. can u tell me how to get it back??

  • The credits are easy too read hahahahahaha

  • juanxxxcarlos@ You just get the image if you don't die in the game.

  • Could anyone tell me why I did't get the final image of the girl?

  • Roc's Feather.... Try it sometime!

  • @Edgeblade

    Lol

    I know right ,

  • Legend of Zelda: INCEPTION

  • ..Seizure warning? D:

  • link die

  • Fuckin annoying owl! I love this game! Makes me remember my childhood!

  • DAMN I NEVER SAW MARIN AT THE END WHY

  • Dude, u could have used the boomerang and ended the fight quickly. Look it up.

  • Jump! Jump, you bastard!!!

  • the second best zelda game after majora´s mask

  • omg not the most smooth fight ive seen! :)

  • would anybody like to buy this game from me? i have it in perfect condition for gameboy color

  • @ohboyhey2k4 LOL.

  • hahaha fuck, Link dies of starvation at sea. THE END!

  • What a bittersweet ending that was. Just when you thought it was a dream, the most absurd thing happens to prove it's not. Now THIS was what childhood games were always about.

  • This game is so awesome. I mean in my head its epic in the classic way. :D And i have it on my 3DS.

  • Utterly befuddled that you didn't use the feather to jump on the last phase.

  • i played it on gb, gba and now im playing on 3DS long live the link ! ;D

  • Ah, Link awoke the Wind Fish; at the cost of Marin's existence, or so he thinks...

  • Anyone guessing this is the sequel to Oracle of Ages/Seasons?

  • @ITIREAPITI It isnt a sequel since those games came after this one.

  • Comment removed

  • Best zelda <3 cryed at the end of the game!

  • ...Was the link in your game unable to jump?? wtf

  • I think i beat this game like over 100 times one summer just to listen to the ending song....best summer ever!!

  • Zelda is amazing!

  • You know you can kill the final boss in one hit with the boomerang right?

  • So, the GOOD ending is where Link wakes up on a raft in the middle of the ocean, only to realize that all of that work and all of his new friends (Malon D:) have vanished, possibly due to a bad acid trip. As the narcotics wear off, Link sees a sky whale flying off into the distance. Now he is going to starve to death, lost at sea. Horay!

    This is the weirdest ending to any Nintendo game, ever.

  • @greyspot00 lmao and hes happy to

  • hey look its the owl from that owl movie that just came out.

  • bought this game for my gb like 10-11 years ago, and im happy i completed it.

  • This was my favorite game of all time

  • I was shocked to see there is coulor in the game on my game boy coulor there is no coulor at all ( im stuck on the first temple on this game any one know how to get by)

  • Boomerang. Instant kill.

  • why are the credits going seizure mode?

  • Can't wait to play this again on the Nintendo 3DS's Virtual Console

  • @Triforce9426 I dont think they are making a remake of this its a remake of zelda ocarina of time not links awakening

  • @bluetube147 The 3DS is going to have a Virtual Console thing like the Wii but with GB games and Link's Awakening is going to be one of them. Though it will be a port, not a remake, so you're right about that.

  • @CasualVader i didint know about links awakening for 3ds but what u mean by port like they're going to make a new version of links awakening for 3ds?

  • @bluetube147 No, no. A port is just taking a game and putting it on another system without adding anything, same graphics and all that. But it won't be available as a physical game, only as a download for the 3DS' "virtual console" (I put that in quotes cause I'm not sure if they're calling it that officially or not).

  • @JiPrime I couldn't imagine it any other way. In my opinion it's perfect as it is. And this epic music... : )

  • Shame that this was made on the handheld.

    Imagine this game on a console...

  • I realy loved this game, I could play it over and over again

  • This game consumed my entire summer of '99.

    Was it worth it?

    Hell yes.

  • Comment removed

  • @MutableEntity it consumed my entire christmas holiday in 1993, even in black and white it was worth it :D I stil have the game with my original save :D

  • @MutableEntity you played it in 99? i played it in 93! on the old original Gameboy, beat that

  • i never understood the point of this game but always loved it hahaha

  • *ZELDA PHANTOM HOURGLASS SPOILERS INCLUDED*

    Besides all the internal, inspirational and Mario and Kirby Easter Eggs and such, like tarin talon talo and ma-, the eye thing with Vaati and Bellum in Zelda Phantom Hourglass and other eye bosses in other Zelda Games, I wonder if the Wind Fish and The Oshus Ocean King Fish from Ending of Phantom Hourglass are related somehow or are the same entity since both worlds fade out at the end...

    *ZELDA PHANTOM HOURGLASS SPOILERS INCLUDED*

  • The Legend of Zelda has always been the best RPG ever made in our lifetime...

    A story of mysteries, adventures and wonders...

  • Too bad about that world.

  • Nintendo knows that whales aren´t really fishes,....right?

  • @PrinceOfMetalGearHal In the game, toward the beginning, one of the cryptic hints says something along these lines: "The Windfish being called what it is, is ironic; for it is neither wind nor fish."

  • @FuzedBox Ok my bad... i´ve never really played the Gameboy Zelda Games, but I want to

  • @PrinceOfMetalGearHal In Japan, they don't care about whale or fish; they're all fair game to hunt.

  • Hey at 3:03 it was mario. :p

  • That was so cheesey and corny and bad but its my childhood so i love it.

  • I get that Link was sent within the Windfishes Dream to Awaken him, but was it ever stated why the Wind Fish needed to be awakened? Would the world have ended if he didn't or something?

  • God i really miss this game was my first gameboy color game about 10 years back got it for my 8th birthday really wish i could play it again

  • this game was the base to my childhood

  • 15 years without a tear, this video made a tear come out

  • is this 1998? i play this on fat gb in 1993

  • @aaronjordan010388 Yeah I remember this game being a LOT more green, and the music not having that annoying TNNGGG sound. Stupid emulators.

  • @aaronjordan010388 yes it is... it is with colour xD

  • This game had the best Zelda Music.

  • The wind fish looks like a whale, and whales are mammals, not fish. Weird!

  • that is one wet dream with a fat whale ¬‿¬

  • After all the time playing this game, you forget the tittle is "Link's Awakening", and at 3:50, your like ohhhhhhhhhhhhh...yeah, this was a dream, of course -_-'. BTW, great game :)

  • link dont like eyes of evil monsters ._.

    poor ones...

  • Gods the nostalgia from this tune made me tear up.

  • im gonna cry

  • and I still think this was kinda sad

    I´d had nothing against an ending like in Ocarina of time

  • WHALES ARE MAMMALS

  • @FzeroXorcist666 ...and endangered mammals too. I heard it a blue whale (maybe the Wind Fish is based on it, but I think it's the humpback whale) is as tall as 11 ostriches.

  • bye marin

  • Lol, after all his trials in his dream world, Link must now overcome being shipwrecked and lost at sea. It never really says if he lives past that, but who needs continuity?

  • This was the 1st zelda game i owned and i have many happy memories of this game.

  • whoa. . . . hint keep watching the credits even after it says THE END. do it. its a secret to everybody

  • I AM THE WIND FISH!

  • link must have been pretty high to dream like That!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Should have replaced the sword for the feather to be able to jump

  • Their is no challenge in that.

  • @kltnblnd well I have partially played oracle of seasons but barely enough to remeber. I really enjoyed this game and had a notion that I may not like spirit tracks or phantom hourglass as much since I'm a fan of the old school gbc. Although, I do have a ds and it would be cool to see some zelda re-releases.

  • Any idea if they're gonna re-release this anytime soon on the DS or something? I'd like to be able to play it.

  • Best Zelda game I ever played. Storyline is great.

  • this is the only zelda game ive played how does it rank amongst the others?

  • @androp131

    You've only played ONE?!? All the games are pretty fantastic... this is actually the only official Zelda Game I have not played... well, this and Spirit Tracks which just came out so I haven't gotten around to that one. So I can't really answer how it compares to the rest. But the rest are fantastic games. I don't play a lot of games but I love the Zelda series. A Link to the Past, Wind Waker, Ocarina of Time: Master Quest, Four Swords Adventures and Phantom Hourglass are my favs.

  • you barely survived

  • Peh. One shot from the Boomerang and this wouldn't have been an issue...

  • @SickBritKid

    i know. i was shooting arrows the first time i beat the game. the second time i used the boomerang once, killed it with one hit. then i wondered why i didnt use it the first time

  • awesome game

    you almost didnt make it but man nice job. what a challenge

  • Is Marin Zelda?

  • Wind Mammal. Not Wind Fish!

  • its like your battleing zero from kirby O.o

  • its like your battleing zero from kirby

  • This game reminds me of Pokemon Red, Blue, Green, Yellow, Silver and Gold.

  • it would work better with the feather in one of your buttons

  • u have to have some reeal balls to talk to a whale with little tiny wings and a table cloth on its bak!

  • Can someone PLEASE tell me why the ending to Link's Awakening doesn't get as much flak as the ending to Super Mario Brothers 2 when...

    ***SPOILERS***

    ~~~That game has a "it was all a dream" ending too?~~~
    ***SPOILERS***
  • Perhaps because Link's Awakening isn't nearly as well-known as SMB 2.
  • Cause SMB2 wasn't even really a Super Mario game. Just a crazy Japanese game with Mario characters put in place.
  • Why people baaw about SMB2 but not Link's Awakening?
    Well for one thing, it wasn't just a standard dream for Link. Mario's dream had nothing at stake. Link was trapped in a world created by a sleeping being with the only way out being waking it. Granted Link doesn't learn that until half way.
    Also it's kinda sad because by waking up the Windfish, Link is putting an entire island population out of existence..
  • you can kill the last transformation of the nightmare with teh boomerang with wich you just need one hit...
  • Is this game a sequel to A Link to the Past ?
  • No, Links Awakening was on regular gameboy as well a long time ago.
  • @Toady120 yeah it was, link leaves hyrule and on this way back he gets ship wretched ending up in the windfish's dream. But, yeah its the same link from link to the past.
  • OK, but does A Link to the Past is a prequel to the Oracle games?
  • pretty amazing game still consider it in the top 5 of the zeldas for me!
  • the ending makes me sad a little
  • 3:02 Is that mario?
  • LOOL i didnt know there was a DX version of this, i finished the original version and i still have it :)
  • hmm so thats the ending to this zelda
    ......i never beat it lol
  • you did not?
    i do the first of the eight caves in 10 minutes haha
  • i did never beat when i was little i had no idea what i was going be sides stealing from the store and came back after a while then died lol
  • holy shit close battle o-O
  • in the beginning of the video, why don't you use the feather and jump over his arms?? you literally almost died!! had you been jumping over his arms, you could have avoided a lot of damage. either way, the battle was won.
  • "Roc's Feather was not used and I used my Life Potion prior to fighting the Worse Nightmare. I did this to challenge myself and I think the fight turned out to be more entertaining rather than jumping his arms or using the one hit kill boomerang.
    Enjoy the ending. "
  • only proves how much balls he has!
  • I always thought the ending is sad
    I'd like to see a sequel for this game
  • i belive that LOST and link's awakening are related
  • @sergiocortos
    Why did you say that 4 times?
  • i belive that the show LOST and Link's awakining are related, there is a lot of similarities, like the nigthmare creatures take shape of link's past, the same thing happens on LOST, and everything happens on an island, don't you agree with me?
  • Artificialraven in your description you said that the nightmare creatures take the shape of enemies in Link's past, the same thing happens on LOST with the smoke monster, don't you agree?
  • i belive that link's awakining is related to the show lost, i mean there is a smoke monster and both, game and show, and the events happen on an island, and if is true, everything that happend on lost was a dream. i think J.J Abrams was inspired by this game and that is how he created LOST. That is what a think.
  • this is the way i originally fought it because i was to retarded to realise i could jump it and beat it with fewer hits using boomerang :P nicely done ;)
  • no way!! majoras mask was good, but it kinda sucked. and from then it just spiraled farther and farther down. i haven't like a single zelda game since then, and that had to have been about ten years ago now. twilight princess is okay from what i've played... but i have yet to finish it.
  • Kinda profound, little bit sad, too
  • I wish I had dreams like that :P
  • I loved this game so much!!!!
    old times!!
  • @BlackMenNumba1
    who's the girl at the end? and was the purpose was to wake up a fish thats really a whale .....that can fly?
  • i dont know if shes called the same in english, but the girl is marin i guess
    and im not sure but i think the island was just a dream by the windfish
  • this brings back old memories to bad i didnt beat the entire game before i lost the game good times but on the bright side my mom found the game the other day but i dont have a gameboy to play it
  • when i was a kid and beat this game i felt sad when everything disappeared. :(
  • @Econ666 lol same as i
  • @Econ666
    last time I played this game was 6 years ago. it took me 12-14hrs but I eventually finished it.
  • I remember when I got this game to cheer me up after my granny died, after 2 hours of gameplay I forgot I even had a granny lol
  • That says more about you(r relation with your grandma) than it does about the game, though...
  • @subrosian1234  XDDDDDDDDDDD
  • funniest comment ive ever read LMAO
  • @subrosian1234 Lol :')
  • @subrosian1234 HAHA that's horrible!
  • @subrosian1234
    good stuff mate,
  • Marin...
    Youre, at last, a seagull :)
    Even though some dreams fade away,
    they can open the door for other dreams to come true!
    The message of this game is awesome!
    Rarely seen in other zelda games.
    It rocks
  • Each and every zelda game can drag you into the adventure, make you feel teh emotions of the characters, and give u the music to sign to forever
  • Well, uh... Best 2D Zelda ever, far better than any playstation 3 game, my strongest and deepest emotion ever as a gamer, 100 liters of tears each time. Enough?
  • lol! you must have been like omg!! half a heart left! I lived!! WOOOT!
    There always has to be a boss with an eyeball hehehhe! :D classic-ness.
    and whoa! credits spaz (the letters) XD!
  • I could never end this game...! I was too lazy and didn´t know where should I go...! XD Stupid instruments! ^^
  • xD I hated those seashells...
  • thought about jumping over the tentacles using the feather rather than carriyng the sword u dont need?
  • pfft where's the challenge in that...
  • well you know, in the real link's awakening (not the DX), the only way to kill the last boss was the sword lvl2 with all life ... so you had to kill all bosses without losing any heart...
  • @Artificialraven i would've used bomb arrows.
  • @Artificialraven In the original gameboy one I never had more than 5 hearts. man
  • One of the saddest endings in any game I've played, easily the saddest in a Zelda game.
  • This game makes me wonder if it's really a good ending or bad ending?
    I say that cause although it was a illusion there was people alive and technically when they dissapeared means they was killed. So did Link really save a place or destroy it?
  • I felt cheated when the nightmare had no specific boss music. I then laughed when the wind fish casually flys by a stranded Link casually! but i will never forget Links Awakening, oh no.
  • The entire story was nothing more than the answer to "Where do seagulls come from?"
  • :'( i loved this game! When i finished it i was going to cry..... fantastic game.... i loved it too much...
  • Best Zelda game BY FAR! No other Zelda game gives you such strong emotions when you finish it. I still remember that when I was little and finished that game it was in my mind for about a day or 2. I was living in my own world that day and I didn't want to talk to anyone lol
  • The ending was so sad for me when I was younger, and I still find it sad today, especially with the sad music playing!
