Yeah Marcus' style of groove was always ahead of the pack and when he got his signature tone established so many bass players were tryin to emulate his tone in the 1980's especially in funk, R&B and Jazz and the best thing about Marcus is his groove gets better with age and is constantly reinventing himself to stay ahead of the game
