  • my neighbors were Persian and taught me farsi growing up and there is a culture clash between them and the USA... there is a way about them that I only got because I was a kid and absorbed more then... and it is hard to explain.

  • @MrSpemat great to hear

  • haha...I've heard about Taarof...i think that's how it's spelled, but i wasn't too sure about it....Now i finally understand what Taarof is...just from the little illustration.

  • Yeah. You have to be drugged to live in Iran under the mullahs.

  • traditions and customs are different around the world, some eat on tables, some on the floor, some on low tables! Ideas travel around, and so have dining tables! In Iran most people have dining tables but eating on the floor is common, they don't just eat on the floor , a very specific cloth is spread on the floor.

eating food together is very important in Iranian culture, so if there is guest and the dining table is not big enough they spread the cloth and eat on the floor together!

  • there is always more space at these people. No matter if you come with 10, unexpected, they are like "please, sit down, have some food! have some more food!"... very hospitable!

  • That closth is known as a "Dastarkhan".

  • i can under stand what theyre saying XD

  • @timproviso: maybe its something called a TRADITION. When do you see us complaining about you eating at the table; its not like we never do that. Anyway, think about it, don't YOU 'eat on the floor' when you're, lets say' at a PICNIC?

  • Hospitality and civil behavior is ingrained in the cultural being of the Iranian people, this is because Persian custom is rooted in Zoroastrian traditions...

    Long live Iran!

  • I am from the Philippines and one of the best friends I have is a business associate of mine from Iran. I admire the guy for his hard work, loyalty and honesty. I always call him more Filipino than me even though he came from Iran. One of these days, before we both retire, I am going to visit Iran with him and I know I will have a wonderful time there.

  • great video but its too short. where i can get the full version of it? i really want to go to Iran. hopefully one day.

  • This is the truth of Iranian people. Always open to all forigners and offer you what the have. This you never see anywhere else. I believe too much openess is not good. There are some missusing that.

  • I know what you are saying - but we need to see these stories. We need to see the love and humanity, respect and integrity of people in the middle east. Too often all that is shown in the Western media are people fighting, shouting, suffering - there are so many misconceptions and fears. I used to work with an Iranian supervisor in an American library and he had such love for the poetry in his country and his family and his people. He was one of the most generous spirits I ever met.

  • @farszad22

yes this is true,Iranian people are very open to other nationas and I see that as a big mistake ,because we are open and friendly ,we just have been abused in the past by many countries,so we have to change our habits.
