  • This is odd..... but good nonetheless

  • "WOW!!! HAHA!!! Look."

  • It's... weird. Enough said.

And hello to all Square Root of Minus Garfield readers.

  • I saw this on Nick Jr. Rocks as a kid. I love it.

  • SupercALifragilisticexpialidocious!

  • I saw the original broadcast of this when I was a child. Only now do all the jokes and pop cultural references make sense!

  • Ummm Al, when I'm in the bathroom, I'm usually in there for more than just a shower or a bath.

  • Al is a genius. I should get an AL-anon group going, heh, heh. I wonder why this song isn't on any of his albums. "Still there? Okay!" Hilarious.

  • @casestudyification Totally, this song is genius.

  • I got some earplugs...

    What?I'm concerned about my health!

  • The accordion solo ruled!!

  • I have loved Al for at least 25 years...and I have never seen this video till now. Thanks for the video!

  • One of my favorite sketches from my favorite childhood show. I used to play sick and skip school just to watch Square One, 321 Contact, and the many other GREAT shows on PBS durring the late 80's thru 90's, I learned more about math from Square One than I Ever learned in the Hillsborough County Public School system.

  • "Still there?

    Okay!"

  • Wonderful and rare find! I used to love watching this as a child! Thanks so much for sharing!

  • I wouldn't be surprised if al was the mind behind everything in this video. Weird Al can do no wrong.

  • WOW! HAHA...look

  • this is the best weird al song ever

  • The part when you saw just Al's head was kind of freaky.

  • when i was little i loved this show..... mainly for the sketch "Mathman"... but I was a weird al fan at that young age, and when i saw this i flipped out.... but now that im older... yeah... XD that was a nice trip down memory lane.... yet im now going to pretend it dosnt exist and go back to "Running with scissors" XD

  • @TakatofanAgain now that im older i see why they called him "weird" Al

  • Hard to believe he didn't get married for almost 20 years after this?

  • Schweet, i just now ripped this, converted it to an mp3, and put it on my Zune.

  • When the foot came down at the end in a British accent I said, "And now for something, completely different"

  • Even though he didn't write this song, it would be nice to see this in high quality on some career-encompassing Weird Al polka compilation someday....

  • im crying betwen the vidio leyrics and comnts i dont know wich is funnyer

  • wow, jay on tuba and jim on banjo... didn't see that coming

the dancers are lame, but funny

  • well the music is clear

  • From left to right, Al's Back-up Musicians were Joel Peskin (Clarinet), Tommy Johnson (Tuba), Jon "Bermuda" Schwartz (Drums), and Jim West (Banjo).

  • That wasn't Steve Jay on tuba??

  • Well, the liner notes of every "Weird Al" album you'd buy would list who played which instrument. So I'd know that's Tommy Johnson on Tuba. But I agree. He and Steve Jay look alike.

  • "WOOOW, haha!!! ...Look."

  • I am only guessing but this must have been during the last 2 seasons of Square one TV.

  • Ah, memories.

    LET'S GO INTO THE BATHROOM.

  • This was my first exposure to Weird Al. I've been a fan ever since. :)

  • I remember this so well. We were taping it at the time and I rewatched it so many times... ahhh, nostalgia.

  • Holy crap, I actually remember this song. Square One was awesome, I especially liked the "Mathnet" segments.

  • I have a feeling besides the stage set the entire video was just a bluescreen.

  • 1:44 Dr. Demento?

  • Yup.

  • Say, didn't he appear in UHF?

  • He didn't just appear in UHF, he also wrote, and directed it.

  • um... no-- he co-wrote it with his manager Jay Levey and Levey directed it...

  • close enough

  • plus i think the person asking about UHF was actually referring to Dr Demento who did have a cameo on the film...

  • Math, bath? Who would've thought?

  • Very Monty Python-ish to me.

  • especially the foot at the end.

  • I agree :P

  • Square One TV was the shizznit!

  • how many polka parties have you been to lately? :D

  • this was a "music video" for an educational math show aimed at children...Square One.

I actually remember watching this show and this "song!"

    I certainly feel old.

  • yeah...

  • "I've got blisters on my fingers!!"

Yet another random Weird Al quote!

  • Actually the "I've got blisters on my fingers!" is a reference to what Ringo said at the end of the song "Helter Skelter" because of it's length. To add to the number 27 conspiracy we have with Al, the demo version of "Helter Skelter" was 27 minutes long, and the "White Album" version was 4 minutes and 27 seconds long.

  • that's cool

  • it all makes sence!

    BOWLING BALL'S MAKE YOU FLY!!

  • i like the part where he flies

  • "A polka meister like myself never has to be bored, I just grab my axe and play some patterns on my keyboard" has to be one of the worst rhymes ever.

  • Maybe it doesn't has to make sense but to sound funny, it doesn, doesn't it?

  • I never said that its not funny, just said that's an awesomely bad rhyme.

  • Yeah maybe

  • I guess that's what happens when Weird Al doesn't write his music...

  • Well, to be fair, Weird Al didn't write this song.

  • no, the "party" and "body" is worse.

  • rock that accordian!

  • I love Polka music

  • 00:55 - 01:15 is the best part i think

  • Patterns! "WOW!" I love how he's all excited.

  • WOW!!!!!!!!!!! WOWEE WOW WOW WOW. what a trip.

didn't know Steve Jay played tuba...

and the foot at the end is very monty python!

  • I didn't know that too

  • Dr. Demento in the background and a Beatles reference. Laying the groundwork...

  • <3

    Classic Weird Al is awesome.

Weird Al;s awesome all the time, but this song is extremely addicting.

  • classic. a true rarity

  • the first twelve years of my life, I thought that Weird Al was "that guy who does patterns on square one."

  • It's nice to know Weird Al appeals to kids. :d
