  • Aw that's so cute! I am looking into getting a yorkie and I have a pool and I hope the yorkie that I eventually will adopt likes to swim. I've gotten mixed answers on whether or not yorkies like to swim. I guess it just depends on the dog!

  • kinda funny b/c my yorkie LOVE water from hose, kiddie pool full of water, ocean water, but...he HATES one thing, bath time for him.

  • Poor Yorkie! You can tell she isnt a fan of swimming! She is suffering trying to get out! Lol

  • im getting a yorkie soon and i was naming mine chloe befor i even watched this video and ive got 2 yorkies jack and jill but there my moms so im getting on and jack and jill dont like the water eathier

  • CeciliaCutie,

Of course they can go in the water without the lifejacket! But you have 2 make sure ur dog can swim WITHOUT one. But if ur dog cant, then a lifejacket is needed.

  • yes

  • duh

  • LOL!!!

  • the puppy life saver and life jacket are SO FREAKING CUTE!!!

  • No. Unfortunately, she doesn't like the pool. This was her first time going in. I was hoping she'd like it, since I know lots of other dogs love to swim. So these days, she just sits basking in the sun, watching us swim. I keep hoping she'll change her mind and jump in on her own though; I don't think it will happen!

  • maybe she doesn't like having to jump in, or walk down the steps. when we first got our yorkie he didn't seem to like the water.... now whenever there is water around that he can just walk into rather than jumping in or jumping from step to step..... he goes right in and you can't get him out! maybe some kind of ramp would help, it will look bad, but maybe shell get in if she can just gradually walk in. hope shell like it someday!

  • @mistyinca2 i brought my yorkie in the pool 2 times a week and now he loves it now my yorkie was the same just give her time even though u wrote that last year

  • my yorkie puppies are 5 weeks old and one time when her favorite toy fell in the pool she jumped in to get it it was so cute she grabbed it from her mouth and swam back to shore which is the ground it was so cute and when she got out her toy was laying on the groung then she jumped on the diving board into the pool

  • everitime i put my yorkie in our pool

he sinks to the bottom i have to save him because he dose not know how to swim. and hes fat

  • cutee. I <3 the little tube thingy! (:

    <3

  • That tube around her head is the funniest thing I've seen, lol

  • The tube is actually a dog toy from petsmart. We got it to see if she'd like playing with it in the pool. It just happened to be the right size for her head. So we used it to help keep her head above water!

  • can't you tell that she doesn't like swimming since she beelines for the edge if the pool every time! I wish people would quit treating their Yorkies like humans! They don't like everything we do!

  • Actually, I *can* tell she doesn't like swimming. It was her first try in the pool. It has nothing to do with treating her like a human. Lots of dogs DO like swimming, and you never know until you try. We try to encourage her to come in from time to time, but she still has no interest.

  • very cute!!
