Please stop making excuses for the Aston Martin. The point is that it's very disappointing to know that you've paid so much for an Aston Martin and it gets creamed by a Porsche. I don't know about you guys but speed is a very important part of driving. I want to know that my car is among the fastest out there. If I'm drving an Aston Martin, I would never drag race against a Porsche and forget about goin' on the race track.
No offense, but this dude gave such a dull review. The only highlight is when the Porsche make its entrance and completely trashes the aston martin in the race. Thumbs up if you agree.
I love Aston Martins almost as much as I love Porsche, but I don't get it, all Aston Martins have huge engines, in spite of all the luxury and fancy gadgets, they should be F1 fast, how is this one getting his has kicked by a car with literally half the engine?
@MrSukhoi25 Astons aren't about numbers and being fastest. They're about elegance and class. I'm sure they know how to make a 6L V12 produce a lot more power, but they purposely make it a more usable engine. More torque and mid-range. Different appeal to the Porsches.
i would still take the v12 vantage cause its better looking, sounds nice, and its unique and its still a fast car i mean it doesnt have to be the fastest car but its very powererful
Stop these petty arguments. The simple fact of the matter is, you don't buy a car like this just by looking at specs. You buy it with your heart. Get a porsche if that's what you want (most people here will never get the money for it anyway) but don't complain on other cars just because you don't want it.
& that gear shift.... i wud reconsider my money sumwer else, perchance buy a 2nd hand vantage spend the remainin 23k on on transmission & exhaust package + a diffuser
Tbh i don't see the point of this car, if i had the money and wanted something classy i would buy a DB9 save my self money while having a nice car, if i want speed there is no more of a thrill + fast car than the GT2 at the 530hp
@232323232321 what 911??? the GT3 ? I'm sure it would demolish the M3. fact is on fifth gear the M3 GTS lost to the GT3 RS both cars has 450ps and both are hard core versions.
@InitialDAmine straight line o.k i know but not on a race track going around and turns and stop and go like a indy 500 race gt3 would not win i now that man.
I never ever would trade my Vantage V12 in for any kind of Porsche, Lambo, Maserati, Ferrari or whatever appears in the wet dreams of greasemonkeys...
well we all know ferrari are great but i am alot happier driving my vantage s than a california.... well one day i would need to have it all but if i gotta choose i buy an aston martin it suit me better....
and dude u gotta remeber a 458 or the lp570 is more expensive than a v12 vantage...
the v12 is around 200k but the ferrari and the lambo after all ur option it be almost 300k......
Aston is beautifull, sounds amazing and is fast enough, ugly porsche is a death trap with scaffolding in the back.. not cool at all.. oh and they sound rubbish. Thats why 99.9% of people dont even look twice at any 911 thats assuming they noticed it at all.
I've driven several DBS models and various Porsches. If all you ever intend to do is race in a straight line, and you want to win by a second, buy a Porsche. If you ever expect to drive the car say, off the track, there is no substitute for the Aston Martin.
I think the rivals of the v12 are the R8 GT 5.2 and 599 GTB, Bentley SS GT or GT3 RS. The GT2 is another kind of car. I have a feeling that Aston were not looking for GTR's or GT2's when making this car. You even said, "three quarters GT3 and one quarter Vantage" You should have raced it against the benchmark they were aiming for.
I saw an average looking young black guy wearing gym shorts, tennis shoes, and a t-shirt come in to my store to buy some cheap sunglasses. And walk out to get into one of these. It was a strange sight.
once again porsche builds a faster car with a smaller price tag too. when i finally saved up enough money to buy a supercar there was basically no other option besides porsche. you just CAN'T get a faster car for your money. ( the car i got was a 911 turbo s )
why more HPs? i think 510 hp are more than enough. unless you want to drive on racing tracks. but you cant use that much horse power in public traffic anyway
you could throw in a suitcase with 25k inside the porsche and i'd still take the aston. speed isn't everything. You could have stuck a 30k TVR in that drag race and it could have beat both of them.
WTF is wrong with this assholes...they make GT2 look like the fastest car ever build....in every single video...the GT2 is well in the lead...ohhh maybe it's an airplane...it just need wings to fly away...i doubt that even Enzo can beat it...
aston martin is just fuckin plastic, with noch history, no precise engineering. Go for Porsche, there is nothing better than German Cars & Especially Porsche!
Ok that the porsche is faster ..and a lot faster it looks like. But I still think that the Aston is a hell much more nice good looking sport car. And in a country like mine (sweden) U dont need all those horse power that a porsche can give U. So I choose the martin 100%, One hell of a sexy car. It looks amazing from every angle I seen it from. I just love that car. I want one of those in my garage. MMMMMM
@trento728 the v6 has lower production costs compared to a flat 6 and thats about the only thing about a v6, thats better than a flat 6. a flat 6 has lower fuel consumption, than a v6, the engine smoothness is better, because of the better balancing of masses theres lower abrasion of the engine and since its a flat engine you can put it very low in a car which gives the car a better balance.
@CcosmozZ Of course Aston can... Does it need more than 510bhp...?? No! so they don't give it more.. simple! They would rather develop softer leather or a new shade of paint than give it even more power..
Finally managed to get a ride in a V12 the other day. And seriously... 0.5 of a second or however much faster the Porsche is just doesn't matter with that v12 screaming in your ears.. the backfires, and the way that it throws your head back everytime you hit another gear. No Porsche can create the kind of emotion that the Aston does.. NO Porsche can.
@Jamzkangster I agree with you on all of your points, other than reliability.. all modern-day cars are reliable, especially cars of this pricerange! Aston is a very highly established company and reliability is something that they are famed for having! their engines have been in these cars for years! (db9 since 2004). Yes you make a good point, German and Japanese engineering is far more sophisticated. But people don't buy Astons because of hp per cylinder, they buy it for prestige and class.
@cyclingguy3 You're nuts. I'm not saying you're wrong about the Aston or that the Aston is a bad car because it absolutely is not. It's a gorgeous, amazing car, BUT no porsche can create the kind of emotion the Aston does?!? Are you fuckin high? Have you ever been in a GT2 Cup Car with 600-700 hp? It's incredible and I'm 100% sure that is produces the same emotion AND MORE than the Aston. The Aston is a normal car, not a twin turbo fucking beast that can handle more than 1.5gs of lateral grip
@kicker4 No I have not been in a GT2 cup car, I would very much like to experience that. But I will say that a Porsche GT2 (rs model included) is one of the current modern day engineering marvels. The fact that Porsche have been able to create something to their standards with a 'small' capacity engine is genious provided the amount of hp/traction/acceleration it provides. Is a GT2 cup a road legal car? I was comparing road legal cars the previous conversation. Ever heard of a DBR9? 600bhp.
@cyclingguy3 Well considering that the Porsche has half the engine size it's pretty sad that it beat the Vantage at all. Honestly the Aston Martin producers need to start pumping more HP into that V12... and they can due to its size.
@StriderCX Ok, i understand your point. But trust me when I say. This Aston Does Not Need Any More Power! it spins its wheels in 1st 2nd and (sometimes on poor roads) 3rd. Seriously, any more power and owners would:A- Have spun into a ditch on anything other than good dry tarmac or B- have such severe whiplash that they could no longer drive. A car this small dos not need more than 510bhp. You have to remember that the v12 vantage is a very small car (about the same length as your average hatch)
@cyclingguy3 OK I guess it doesn't need any more power... and the engine noise itself is enough to pick up girls lol. And I didn't know Aston's were that small. I first fell in love with Astons after watching Italian Job even though the Aston is shown for a few seconds.
@StriderCX Yeah not all Astons are small, only the vantage line. The DB9 and DBS, Virage are all basically the same chassis and are substantial in size and width. The Rapide is slightly longer, but is basically and extended DB9. The One-77 on the other hand is very large in length and width. Once sitting inside the drivers head is 3 metres from the front of the car..
@cyclingguy3 3 meters? AHAHHAHA that's crazy. I'd stick with the Vantage line in that case... smaller cars really attract me for some reason. Thanks for all the info!
@cyclingguy3 hey, not everybody likes the same type of cars...if you like aston, because it creates emotion, that's ok...for me no car in the whole world can create the kind of emotion that a porsche does...have you ever driven a carrera gt or a gt3rs? it's an orgasm...the sound, the look, the power: just perfect
@khashman93 Nope, I can honestly say that so far when i am in it, I have not yet met a GT2 on the road.... I met a 911 turbo.... Or at least i think it was a turbo.. couldn't really tell because the pussy driving it didn't want a race (knew he would lose) But when I do meet other cars in town, i can't normally see them due to the people crowding around my Aston, they usually appreciate a loud V12 roar as I pull up at the lights... But be sure to have fun in your 6cyl bug eyed porsche ;)
@cyclingguy3 2011 v12 Aston Martin vantage does 0-60 in 4.1, porsche turbo s does 0-60 in 2.9, 2.9<4.1.... aston 180,000, porsche 160,000... porsche is faster cheaper and uglier......aston's are pure class but cant quite match the performance of a top of the line porsche
@khashman93 No,of course they can't match the performance of a top end porsche - lets be honest, not many cars can! Lots of people (sorry, but you included) miss the point of an Aston Martin. These are cars that are created for their status, their appeal, their looks and prestige. An AM owner doesn't care if a high end (race bread) porsche is quicker than his luxury sports car, the world isn't all about 0-60 times. V12 is £135000. And i can guarantee that on a public road, you Do Not need 500bhp+
In my opinion AM doesnt have a reason to exist. Its not as fast as its other rivals like 458 and the gallardos(and its happens to be alot more expensive aswell). Then smb would say its luxury since you are not after ultimate performance can you say that a ferrari 599 isnt luxurious? Its certainly not as maaaad a murcielago. Its an overpriced lower tech car than its rivals.I'd never buy one and even tho gt2 is just another porsch think what the've achieved with a small engine at the wrong place...
@rackhir11 What a strange logic.. As long as people buy Aston Martins they have a reason to exist, period. They look absolutely stunning, and to many carbuyers, looks are as important as performance, if not more important, once a certain level of performance is attained. Who are you to say they are all wrong?
I started my post sayin "in my opinion",so go stick your periods where you are supposed to in the first place.Attempt to explain (2) Yes they look awesome but can you say that an lp-560 looks worse?Same thing for the italia which is a work of art and they both do everything the Am does 10 times better EVERYTHING.So i dont see your faking point paying more for smthing thats worse than its rivals by far yet the looks which is smth subjective..Those are the FACTS.so if u pick the lazy v12 GRTZ DUDE
@rackhir11 Come on.. If you start with "in my opinion", it means that is in fact your opinion, i.e. it applies to the issue in a general sense, and can therefore be challenged by anyone who reads it and disagrees with you. Your reasoning is not logical, because if only the single best car / product / soccer team / everything else you can think of, had reasons to exist, we could get rid of 99% of everything, and what good would that do..? You see, it doesn't make any sense, it's a childish logic.
@BullytraxMusicWhen i said that it doesnt have a reason to exist i was simply just exaggerating,i thought it was obvious..When you are willing to pay for smth you are seeking the better your money can buy.458 and lp560 are the best cars today in the 200-250k margin. So instead of throwing general arguments youre the one simplifying things to the ground. In conclusion yes there are many products and u are the one with the money on the hand after youve done your comparison.Choose a worse product
@rackhir11 Yeah I know you were exaggerating, obviously.. But my point is simply that everyone's taste is different, and that's the way it should be.. For reasons unbeknownst to you, and to myself btw, some people actually choose an Aston over a Ferrari or a Lambo. There's more to it than facts and performance figures, it's an emotional thing, which is part of the magic... I had a Corvette C4 once, and even if it is quite a crappy sportscar, I loved it, and miss driving it.. Go figure..:-)
@cyclingguy3 I am an Aston Martin Lover too, but i do have to correct u on one point. the Aston Martin One 77 will pwn ANY porsche ANY day in ANY field (looks speed feel) :)
@cyclingguy3 Sorry but your logic is totally flawed, what you said makes no sense other wise they would have kept the original v8 in the car and not shoved the much larger and much more powerful v12 from a faster car in it................meaning they were all about trying to make the car fast.............just because Aston is only a half decent performance car company doesnt mean you need to go making excuses as to why the Porsche is faster....if you want your logic then youd stick to a basic v8
@burritomaker69 Sorry, you weren't too clear on that point. What I think your saying is.. Aston should be prepared to be pitched against race spec Porsches because they put their signature GT engine in yet another one of their luxury sports cars? Is that correct? Did it ever occur to you that they produce 2 models to make more money? Because thats generally what large successful companies do.. For example look at Porsche.. How many models of the 911 do they have?? Think it through...
@cyclingguy3 Its like talking shit to a person thats known for fighting (Porsche) and expecting to just walk away without a fight. Aston brought it on themselves by throwing a v12 in this thing if they wanted to keep yoru logic then they would have done nothing to the original or in fact not made it at all.
@energyfinance The aston martin V-12 vantage, the one in the video, has two seats so i do not understand your argument; where are you going with this?
@khashman93 So if a Porche smokes a Rolls-Royce phantom the Porche is a better car....I am Dutch and would have the Aston it's a pure pussy magnet...no other car can compete for its looks
@khashman93 hahaha yeah he says "I dont need a 500hp car because on a public road I cant use it" well thats funny because your car also has 500hp...........
@cyclingguy3 that may be but that doesnt make the porsche a bad car, a porsche is better to drive around a track cause its lighter. the aston is more of a gt and a showoff car; really great but no race car. and NO porsche ?? have u never heard of the porsche carrera gt ?
@cyclingguy3 and the Porsche to me looks worse than ANY aston martin from the DB9 to the V12 Vantage and One-77, those Aston's may well be heavy, but the power and how comfortable and how they pull you in the seat when you floor it makes me want one!
@RajaBegun No Current Porsche can. Yeah sure you can name an old V10 Porsche in this discussion which still retail for £300,000 6 years on. We are talking about brand new supercars, £135000 vantages. Which would rival another current Porsche of the same price range.
@cyclingguy3 You were just admitting to khashman that "of course they can't match the performance of a top end porsche" and that AMs are not all about 0-60 times. But it seems you had a change of heart when you told me you exclude the carrera GT because of not being "currently" produced. I owned a 996 carrera 4s and currently own a 997 carrera 4s. Regardless of the millisecond diff I have owned Porsches for 7 years, and I will always have one in my garage. I will never buy a British car...
@RajaBegun I have never said that Astons are about 0-60 times. I will however admit, after driving multiple models that these are seriously fast cars. I love Porsches, but stand by my comments that no current porsche can create the same emotions. Maybe for you personally, there is nothing like a Porsche, it is good to hear you love driving and own a beautiful car. I however believe that as you state; "i will never buy a british car", to ask you to drive a V12 V. and just maybe... you will..
@cyclingguy3 I agree with you, I got to drive the Carbon Black V12, made a vid. Amazing car experience and this is coming from a driving event where I get to drive all the 2011 porsches on tracks all day. I wouldn't even look at the porsche if the Aston is available to me. That V12 can make you feel amazing downshifting and hearing it pop and gurgle and laugh out loud when you get on it. Im going to buy one God willing in a two months from today...
@003590510 yeah, people really don't understand the cars that this company makes. All these youtubers blah blah about 0-60 and think they can write a review after watching a video. Good to hear that you have actually had a chance to get your hands on one! I would loathe to drive the carbon black. I think they look even sharper than the standard. Good for you, you are very lucky!!
Bit of an unfair test there with quite a big difference in power output. Although i guess that they are in the same price bracket which does make them alternatives to each other. I see Vantages all day in London but I have yet to see even one V12 yet. So I guess its pretty rare...
@2fight4 Troll: don't know how much you know about cars, so I'll explain that power is relative to weight. GT2 is 523/1440kg = 369bhp per tonne. AM 510/1680kg = 308 per tonne. 61 bhp difference relative to weight is a fair amount actually. Particularly when one is more of a cruiser and the other is a track orientated beast. So if you're comparing them on performance alone its not really a fair comparison. They are comparable on price, in fact the Porker is a tad cheaper in the UK.
@2fight4 Its also highly noteworthy that the GT2 generates a whopping 500 lb·ft of torque and delivers it only at 2200 rpm, which makes a huge difference coming out of corners. The AM generates only 420lb ft @ 5750rpm much higher up the rev range. So in answer to your question, yes I do think the Porsche has a big power differential. Now go back to troll school.
@nickeroo accept it, the Porsche just has a different concept 6cyl biturbo vs 12cyl with lots of displacement, thats unfair aswell, the Porsche has half the cylinders.
Fact is cars are compared by price and bhp and those cars have almost the same bhp and price. The Porsche is just lighter thats why it is faster nothing unfair in my opinion.Compare it to the Porsche Turbo,it is cheaper than the Aston and has less bhp but is still a lot faster, but i guess its unfair again because the Aston loses.
@2fight4 Well you made a comment like I was talking out my arse I think my point is valid, all of these tests of which is faster are often a bit pointless because you can only compare like for like, when it comes to 'winning'. I've already said I can see the reality of price, if you were going to spend that money this is what you could buy but to compare them on which is the out and out best performer seems to me a bit pointless. It appeals to teenagers that play GT5.
@nickeroo yea, what you said is kinda right, but cars are always being compared, for exemple by car magazines and just by numbers, and just by considering facts, these cars can be compared, and they always will be compared. BUT its true that these tests arent really meaningful, because i doubt anyone considering buying an Aston V12 will change one's mind just by reading, that theres a Porsche with almost the same bhp accelerating faster than the Aston....
The Germans are always quicker than they say on paper.
And so are turbos vs NA.
And lest we forget, the 911 is a benchmark for every sportscar.
The British wake up every morning with a new idea of how they're going to better the 911.
It's always FAIL,because there's a lot more to buying such an expensive car than just looks, but they do make some sexy cars with unique character the Germans lack.
@spameister As testers go, they are better than most. Most American car shows simply reel off a list of numbers, then claim the American car is brilliant (because if they didn't there'd be a lynch mob waiting outside the studio). I like Motortrend and Supercars Exposed.
@MrLangstar but I'm saying that you should atleast TRY and be a little original with your comment. Or you can just say something that 600 other people have already said. Yea, that is really interesting.
This my at the top of my list.
The V12 Vantage is the perfect blend of 'power, beauty and soul'.

What you kids fail to realize is that the V12 Aston Martin has a ton of more potential than the Porsche.
Modify it with a twin turbo and it will more than doubble it's hp. Just like the underground racing gallardos with 1500 hp.

Tbh i don't see the point of this car, if i had the money and wanted something classy i would buy a DB9 save my self money while having a nice car, if i want speed there is no more of a thrill + fast car than the GT2 at the 530hp

Aston is beautifull, sounds amazing and is fast enough, ugly porsche is a death trap with scaffolding in the back.. not cool at all.. oh and they sound rubbish. Thats why 99.9% of people dont even look twice at any 911 thats assuming they noticed it at all.
TrippySkippy1 7 months ago
I've driven several DBS models and various Porsches. If all you ever intend to do is race in a straight line, and you want to win by a second, buy a Porsche. If you ever expect to drive the car say, off the track, there is no substitute for the Aston Martin.
8s8lw8d 7 months ago
I think the rivals of the v12 are the R8 GT 5.2 and 599 GTB, Bentley SS GT or GT3 RS. The GT2 is another kind of car. I have a feeling that Aston were not looking for GTR's or GT2's when making this car. You even said, "three quarters GT3 and one quarter Vantage" You should have raced it against the benchmark they were aiming for.

One of the biggest problems I have with Aston Martin has always been the amount of power they get from their V12s.
Don't get me wrong. I love AM, and they way they sound. But only 510 bhp from a 6 litre V12?! Come on Aston you can do better.
jonathan102 8 months ago
@jonathan102
why more HPs? i think 510 hp are more than enough. unless you want to drive on racing tracks. but you cant use that much horse power in public traffic anyway

MMMMMM

SwindleCon 10 months ago
@trento728 the v6 has lower production costs compared to a flat 6 and thats about the only thing about a v6, thats better than a flat 6. a flat 6 has lower fuel consumption, than a v6, the engine smoothness is better, because of the better balancing of masses theres lower abrasion of the engine and since its a flat engine you can put it very low in a car which gives the car a better balance.
2fight4 10 months ago
You know whats the problem with Aston? 510 HP from a 6.0L V12? I'm sure they can squeeze out more than that.
But no doubt, I'll still have an Aston anyday. (Y)
CcosmozZ 10 months ago
@CcosmozZ Of course Aston can... Does it need more than 510bhp...?? No! so they don't give it more.. simple! They would rather develop softer leather or a new shade of paint than give it even more power..

Finally managed to get a ride in a V12 the other day. And seriously... 0.5 of a second or however much faster the Porsche is just doesn't matter with that v12 screaming in your ears.. the backfires, and the way that it throws your head back everytime you hit another gear. No Porsche can create the kind of emotion that the Aston does.. NO Porsche can.

@cyclingguy3 The new 997 turbos are more refined, better MPG, more fun to drive, more reliable, and way less maintenance compared to this Aston.
Yea the V12 engine is nice, but you can get the same amount of fun in a flat 6 turbo or a 6 turbo in the GTR.
Jamzkangster 9 months ago
@Jamzkangster I agree with you on all of your points, other than reliability.. all modern-day cars are reliable, especially cars of this pricerange! Aston is a very highly established company and reliability is something that they are famed for having! their engines have been in these cars for years! (db9 since 2004). Yes you make a good point, German and Japanese engineering is far more sophisticated. But people don't buy Astons because of hp per cylinder, they buy it for prestige and class.
cyclingguy3 9 months ago
@cyclingguy3 i bet the carrera gt creates more emotion than your aston, altough i have to admit, that aston builds unbelivable beautiful cars.
nahhansnah 9 months ago
@cyclingguy3 You're nuts. I'm not saying you're wrong about the Aston or that the Aston is a bad car because it absolutely is not. It's a gorgeous, amazing car, BUT no porsche can create the kind of emotion the Aston does?!? Are you fuckin high? Have you ever been in a GT2 Cup Car with 600-700 hp? It's incredible and I'm 100% sure that is produces the same emotion AND MORE than the Aston. The Aston is a normal car, not a twin turbo fucking beast that can handle more than 1.5gs of lateral grip
kicker4L 9 months ago
@kicker4 No I have not been in a GT2 cup car, I would very much like to experience that. But I will say that a Porsche GT2 (rs model included) is one of the current modern day engineering marvels. The fact that Porsche have been able to create something to their standards with a 'small' capacity engine is genious provided the amount of hp/traction/acceleration it provides. Is a GT2 cup a road legal car? I was comparing road legal cars the previous conversation. Ever heard of a DBR9? 600bhp.
cyclingguy3 9 months ago
@cyclingguy3 Well considering that the Porsche has half the engine size it's pretty sad that it beat the Vantage at all. Honestly the Aston Martin producers need to start pumping more HP into that V12... and they can due to its size.
StriderCX 8 months ago
@StriderCX Ok, i understand your point. But trust me when I say. This Aston Does Not Need Any More Power! it spins its wheels in 1st 2nd and (sometimes on poor roads) 3rd. Seriously, any more power and owners would:A- Have spun into a ditch on anything other than good dry tarmac or B- have such severe whiplash that they could no longer drive. A car this small dos not need more than 510bhp. You have to remember that the v12 vantage is a very small car (about the same length as your average hatch)
cyclingguy3 8 months ago
@cyclingguy3 OK I guess it doesn't need any more power... and the engine noise itself is enough to pick up girls lol. And I didn't know Aston's were that small. I first fell in love with Astons after watching Italian Job even though the Aston is shown for a few seconds.
StriderCX 8 months ago
@StriderCX Yeah not all Astons are small, only the vantage line. The DB9 and DBS, Virage are all basically the same chassis and are substantial in size and width. The Rapide is slightly longer, but is basically and extended DB9. The One-77 on the other hand is very large in length and width. Once sitting inside the drivers head is 3 metres from the front of the car..
cyclingguy3 8 months ago

Or at least i think it was a turbo.. couldn't really tell because the pussy driving it didn't want a race (knew he would lose) But when I do meet other cars in town, i can't normally see them due to the people crowding around my Aston, they usually appreciate a loud V12 roar as I pull up at the lights... But be sure to have fun in your 6cyl bug eyed porsche ;)
cyclingguy3 8 months ago
@cyclingguy3 2011 v12 Aston Martin vantage does 0-60 in 4.1, porsche turbo s does 0-60 in 2.9, 2.9<4.1.... aston 180,000, porsche 160,000... porsche is faster cheaper and uglier......aston's are pure class but cant quite match the performance of a top of the line porsche
khashman93 8 months ago
@khashman93 No,of course they can't match the performance of a top end porsche - lets be honest, not many cars can! Lots of people (sorry, but you included) miss the point of an Aston Martin. These are cars that are created for their status, their appeal, their looks and prestige. An AM owner doesn't care if a high end (race bread) porsche is quicker than his luxury sports car, the world isn't all about 0-60 times. V12 is £135000. And i can guarantee that on a public road, you Do Not need 500bhp+
cyclingguy3 8 months ago 60
In my opinion AM doesnt have a reason to exist. Its not as fast as its other rivals like 458 and the gallardos(and its happens to be alot more expensive aswell). Then smb would say its luxury since you are not after ultimate performance can you say that a ferrari 599 isnt luxurious? Its certainly not as maaaad a murcielago. Its an overpriced lower tech car than its rivals.I'd never buy one and even tho gt2 is just another porsch think what the've achieved with a small engine at the wrong place...
rackhir11 7 months ago
@rackhir11 What a strange logic.. As long as people buy Aston Martins they have a reason to exist, period. They look absolutely stunning, and to many carbuyers, looks are as important as performance, if not more important, once a certain level of performance is attained. Who are you to say they are all wrong?
BullytraxMusic 7 months ago
I started my post sayin "in my opinion",so go stick your periods where you are supposed to in the first place.Attempt to explain (2) Yes they look awesome but can you say that an lp-560 looks worse?Same thing for the italia which is a work of art and they both do everything the Am does 10 times better EVERYTHING.So i dont see your faking point paying more for smthing thats worse than its rivals by far yet the looks which is smth subjective..Those are the FACTS.so if u pick the lazy v12 GRTZ DUDE
rackhir11 7 months ago
@rackhir11 Come on.. If you start with "in my opinion", it means that is in fact your opinion, i.e. it applies to the issue in a general sense, and can therefore be challenged by anyone who reads it and disagrees with you. Your reasoning is not logical, because if only the single best car / product / soccer team / everything else you can think of, had reasons to exist, we could get rid of 99% of everything, and what good would that do..? You see, it doesn't make any sense, it's a childish logic.
BullytraxMusic 7 months ago
@BullytraxMusicWhen i said that it doesnt have a reason to exist i was simply just exaggerating,i thought it was obvious..When you are willing to pay for smth you are seeking the better your money can buy.458 and lp560 are the best cars today in the 200-250k margin. So instead of throwing general arguments youre the one simplifying things to the ground. In conclusion yes there are many products and u are the one with the money on the hand after youve done your comparison.Choose a worse product
rackhir11 7 months ago
@rackhir11 Yeah I know you were exaggerating, obviously.. But my point is simply that everyone's taste is different, and that's the way it should be.. For reasons unbeknownst to you, and to myself btw, some people actually choose an Aston over a Ferrari or a Lambo. There's more to it than facts and performance figures, it's an emotional thing, which is part of the magic... I had a Corvette C4 once, and even if it is quite a crappy sportscar, I loved it, and miss driving it.. Go figure..:-)
BullytraxMusic 7 months ago
@BullytraxMusic Well now i ll have to agree with you..many times emotions bend logic..agreed :p

TheReddevil0121 3 months ago
@cyclingguy3 Sorry but your logic is totally flawed, what you said makes no sense other wise they would have kept the original v8 in the car and not shoved the much larger and much more powerful v12 from a faster car in it................meaning they were all about trying to make the car fast.............just because Aston is only a half decent performance car company doesnt mean you need to go making excuses as to why the Porsche is faster....if you want your logic then youd stick to a basic v8
burritomaker69 3 months ago
@burritomaker69 Sorry, you weren't too clear on that point. What I think your saying is.. Aston should be prepared to be pitched against race spec Porsches because they put their signature GT engine in yet another one of their luxury sports cars? Is that correct? Did it ever occur to you that they produce 2 models to make more money? Because thats generally what large successful companies do.. For example look at Porsche.. How many models of the 911 do they have?? Think it through...
cyclingguy3 3 months ago
@cyclingguy3 Its like talking shit to a person thats known for fighting (Porsche) and expecting to just walk away without a fight. RajaBegun 7 months ago
@RajaBegun No Current Porsche can. Yeah sure you can name an old V10 Porsche in this discussion which still retail for £300,000 6 years on. We are talking about brand new supercars, £135000 vantages. Which would rival another current Porsche of the same price range.
cyclingguy3 7 months ago
@cyclingguy3 You were just admitting to khashman that "of course they can't match the performance of a top end porsche" and that AMs are not all about 0-60 times. But it seems you had a change of heart when you told me you exclude the carrera GT because of not being "currently" produced. I owned a 996 carrera 4s and currently own a 997 carrera 4s. Regardless of the millisecond diff I have owned Porsches for 7 years, and I will always have one in my garage. I will never buy a British car...
RajaBegun 7 months ago
@RajaBegun I have never said that Astons are about 0-60 times. I will however admit, after driving multiple models that these are seriously fast cars. I love Porsches, but stand by my comments that no current porsche can create the same emotions. Maybe for you personally, there is nothing like a Porsche, it is good to hear you love driving and own a beautiful car. I however believe that as you state; "i will never buy a british car", to ask you to drive a V12 V. and just maybe... you will..

@cyclingguy3 I agree with you, I got to drive the Carbon Black V12, made a vid. Bit of an unfair test there with quite a big difference in power output. Although i guess that they are in the same price bracket which does make them alternatives to each other. I see Vantages all day in London but I have yet to see even one V12 yet. So I guess its pretty rare...

This has been flagged as spam show
@2fight4 Troll: don't know how much you know about cars, so I'll explain that power is relative to weight. They are comparable on price, in fact the Porker is a tad cheaper in the UK.
nickeroo 10 months ago 2
@2fight4 Its also highly noteworthy that the GT2 generates a whopping 500 lb·ft of torque and delivers it only at 2200 rpm, which makes a huge difference coming out of corners. The AM generates only 420lb ft @ 5750rpm much higher up the rev range. So in answer to your question, yes I do think the Porsche has a big power differential. Now go back to troll school.
nickeroo 10 months ago
@nickeroo accept it, the Porsche just has a different concept 6cyl biturbo vs 12cyl with lots of displacement, thats unfair aswell, the Porsche has half the cylinders.
Fact is cars are compared by price and bhp and those cars have almost the same bhp and price. The Porsche is just lighter thats why it is faster nothing unfair in my opinion.Compare it to the Porsche Turbo,it is cheaper than the Aston and has less bhp but is still a lot faster, but i guess its unfair again because the Aston loses.
2fight4 10 months ago
@2fight4 Well you made a comment like I was talking out my arse I think my point is valid, all of these tests of which is faster are often a bit pointless because you can only compare like for like, when it comes to 'winning'. I've already said I can see the reality of price, if you were going to spend that money this is what you could buy but to compare them on which is the out and out best performer seems to me a bit pointless. It appeals to teenagers that play GT5.
nickeroo 10 months ago
@nickeroo yea, what you said is kinda right, but cars are always being compared, for exemple by car magazines and just by numbers, and just by considering facts, these cars can be compared, and they always will be compared. BUT its true that these tests arent really meaningful, because i doubt anyone considering buying an Aston V12 will change one's mind just by reading, that theres a Porsche with almost the same bhp accelerating faster than the Aston....
2fight4 10 months ago
just 6 cylinders muhahaha!
magog31 10 months ago
@spameister It's not a stupid and pointless test.
The Aston pretends to be a rocket on paper.

'it has so much more power and torque this car'
then its a stupid pointless test just like all of autocar's stupid pointless reviews

@spameister As testers go, they are better than most. Most American car shows simply reel off a list of numbers, then claim the American car is brilliant (because if they didn't there'd be a lynch mob waiting outside the studio). I like Motortrend and Supercars Exposed.

@MrLangstar so gay how every video with a sick car has these stupid comments that were stolen. Can you not have one thought of your own?
dmanschaumbizzie 8 months ago
@dmanschaumbizzie That was my own comment..dickhead, just because you can't think of anything to describe this car.
MrLangstar 8 months ago
@MrLangstar but I'm saying that you should atleast TRY and be a little original with your comment. Or you can just say something that 600 other people have already said. Yea, that is really interesting.
dmanschaumbizzie 8 months ago
@dmanschaumbizzie How would you describe this car then?......without copying anyone.
