I wonder how many moons orbit the planet liberals live on? They all seem to have great intentions, and I commend them for that, but they never look at what their policies actually produce. Of course I want health insurance, cheap gas, a really nice car, a massive house, gourmet food, a sail boat, and, what the heck, a motor boat too, but there is only one way for me to attain those things, EARN THEM! Taking from one group of people and giving to another disincentivizes everyone. Start thinking..

Exxon is owned mostly by ordinary Americans. The people who run Exxon own less than 1 percent of the company. Its $40 billion a year profits do not go into the coffers of a few billionaires in Texas but to the pension and retirement accounts of ordinary citizens. The dividends goes to pay for the mortgages and oxygen tanks and in-home care of elderly Americans. Obama is hurting the union pension plans and which blue-collar workers who benefit from from Exxons rich dividends.

Obama is on the Hugo Chavez band wagon. He believes he can take from the oil industry and give it away. The reality is if he takes from them, they will simply charge a higher price at the pump. If we open our territory for more drilling anything found will go into the world market having little affect here at home. We are in deep shit! Our economy steadily gone to hell ever since china received most favored trade status.

Uh...they talk about the big mean old oil companies but what the government doesnt mind is the fact that they make 3 times of what the oil company makes on taxes from these profits. It is the government that is making out like bandits.

Does Obama know you can't just spout off the number of dollars a company makes in profit without knowing the expense side of operation? I see some posts say XOM is making 85,000 per minute, so what they are paying $765,000.00 in expenses every minute, wages for the thousands of people they employ. Taxes for all the people they don't.

What will they do with these profits? If the liberals in congress would allow a vote to drill they would find new oil fields and the price of oil would fall.

When you swipe a debit card at the pump, the bank doesn't know how much money you'll be spending until you've finished pumping. some stations ask banks to automatically set aside some of your money: That amount used to be $20but with gas prices going up, stations have started asking banks to hold $50, even $100. That means even if you just topped off your tank for $10, you could be out $100 until the station sends over its bulk transactions, which can take up to three days.

the gas stations don't get cash after you swipe your card, they get it when your bank pays them, and they sure as hell don't take out or put any money back into your account. dumbass. that's why people aren't "raising hell"

Do any of you know that Exxon is holding back money from your bank account if you use your debit card to purchase gas? Even if you just get $20.00 worth of gas they can hold back $100.00 until the debit clears. Then they will put the money back into your account. Exxon is telling stations to do this. The one close to my house told me they will start today!

I cant understand why people are not raising hell about this!

His last year view and his veiws this year are not really different. He said the same thing. Only 2 years ago he said this is true but what do we do to fix it. He has a plan to fix it today. Listen to his whole speech. He is going to tax their profits to give those hit hardest a tax break and he is going to invest in renewable energy. His position has not changed.
