  • whatsthe lightest helmet on themarket???

  • @philhindu29 i believe its the new shark race but any that use carbon fibre will be extremely light

  • @IornDog91 thanks one will be bought i already use a shark helmet and like it :O)

  • Hi there,

I work in a bike shop, The Arai RX7-GP is the best helmet on the market in all our opinions where i work ,

Reason being A: Safest - Only helmet to pass Snell and ECE tests.

    B: Looks awesome

C: Fits better than any other helmet.

D: If you try any other helmet on, nothing compares.

Only downfall is wind noise, Arai are very noisy but there is a reason for that, its because they are the safest, Who would not cmopramise noise for safety? I know id go for safety all the time.

  • @jamieryanurquhart all very true, I do think though fit is a personal prefrence depending on your origin. I love my AGV gp tech for its liner interier and its aero dynamics are my prefered amongst any helmet. I think when your wearing any of the top helmets in a brands range then its all personal choice, i use to love shoei but gone off them now. didnt like arai but now i love them and AGV is just so different that i cant help but love them. The only minus I would put on RX7 is its weight XD

  • @IornDog91

First off The AGV GP-Tech is an awesome helmet, a collegue of mine got a Arai Rx7gp sprayed in a 5 continents purely because AGV make the best looking helmets but Arai make most comfortable,

As for Shoei They have been changing for a long time but Still cant compete, nothing does, but it is an expensive helemet.

To be honest, one of the best helmets on the market for price is by far the Nexx XR1R Carbon, check them out and tell me you still prefer AGV ;)

  • Also, I am considering getting the Shoei Qwest, XR-1100 or RX-7 GP and, without being able to try them on the bike before buying, am finding it very difficult to work out which one to get! RX-7 GP has great fit, comfort and design, the XR-1100 not so much but I imagine it's quieter and the Qwest is less aerodynamic I imagine but the quietest I imagine. Can you make the decision for me???

  • @marksevel I would say as your getting a sports bike you would like a sports helmet, the xr-1100 and qwest arnt really sports helmets. the most important thing is fit, if the arai fits better than a shoei which usually one fits better. get the arai. they are both brilliant helmets out of the two i prefer the arai because it looks better it fits me better and its smaller and more aerodynamic. shoeis tend to feel like you have your head in a goldfish bowl. you have to ask, whats more important?

  • @IornDog91 awesome! You're turning me onto to the Arai. I've found a place I can try before I buy. Just hope it's not too noisy (as I am a drum teacher and need to protect my ears as much as possible) (yes, I know I should wear earplugs but it's a pain to keep putting them in/taking them out!) and hope the design is in keeping/not too flash with my textile clothes and bike! Thanks again!

  • Thanks lorndog. You say the shoei visor feels less attacked by the wind, but you also say the arai has better aerodynamics - is this a contradiction?

Also, just checking 'top noise helmet' means the quitest helmet? Not the noisiest helmet?

  • @marksevel yes sorry for my broken english lol the shoei has a ratchet visor that locks it in making it wind and water proof. but the arai has a better shape but also lets wind in a bit more. the queitest sport helmets are the scheuberth sr1 pro and the shark. but quiteness is not also the most important thing. my favoerite helmet is AGV GP tech i personally prefer the shape and zero lift from air. but its flows more air than any helmet on the market. :)

  • Hi lorndog or any who knows: Is the RX-7 GP noisier than the XR-1100? If so, by a noticeable amount or a negligible amount? p.s. I ride a CBR600 without earplugs, thanks!

  • @marksevel hi there :) yes i would say its a noisers than the xr-1100 ive rode in both the visor on the shoei makes it feel much less attacked by the wind. but i never ride with ear plugs because i like the engines noise and cant hear the traffic with them in. I think on your CBR you should be fine with the arai. ive been high speeds in both helmets and I prefer the arai for its aerodynamics and vents but with vents comes noise. top noise helmet would be shark or scheuberths pro race helmet :)

  • hello ma men tell me what do you think about rx1100 is good i want one thanks amigo

  • @luca2717 yeh i actually own one, had a huge crash in it 60-60 head on crash and it saved my life so its deffinetly safe! its really light too its a brilliant helmet my two favorite things about it were the wide vision and the visor water tight system that keeps all the wind and rain out. and it can even be used on the track :D

  • i think best design is agv 5 continant all the way lol

  • @luca2717 :) i like AGV too only thing is if you where rossi rep everyone says your in love with rossi. I'm looking forward to AGV's new helmet. plus side to rossi colour is people will see you coming lol

  • @IornDog91 hello ther for me agv much good lookin and rossi best in the world and i dont love rossi i do love his girl frend + r1 lol

  • Respond to this video... sorry again iam italian and i love italian style lol i hope you leg be ok good luck lol

  • @luca2717 I love italian style too, Im half italian :) all I use is Dainese or alpinestars and I own two AGV helmets :D

  • Comment removed

  • Suomy is Italian too, right?

Their full face Apex helmet looks so cool, maybe even better than the Arai RX-7 GP, I personally didn't expect that.

    Anyway good review!

  • @DreamAirlines Suomys apex is a great helmet and extreamly similer in looks to arai's but the saftey tests on arai and the quality of the liner is a little better imo. but then again they are cheaper so i suppose you pay for what you get.

  • @IornDog91

Just surfed on the web and I found the goverment test thing (Sharp, right?) and the high-end Shoei got 5 stars for safety.

  • @DreamAirlines yes sharp, its a UK gorvernment safety test thats not working for any company, however sharp is only a test that calculates impact on outside of shell, but snell and EC are both full saftey tests that helmets must pass if they are (safe enough) to race with. Arai is now snell 2010 and shoei are starting, but in all honesty they are both incredable helmets with very different shape fitting, which ever fits is the one you buy, a lid not fitted doesnt have any protection stars/rating

  • @luca2717 O yeh i almost forgot, Marco simoncellie should win moto gp, Im routing for him :D

  • @IornDog91

    RIP Marco Simoncelli, horrible crash!

  • @DreamAirlines words cant describe the emotions, he seemed so invincible and what happened seemed so impossiable

  • @dreamofthephoenix thanks so much man means alot to hear that in some way it helped :D. visability is something not everyone thinks about when they consider helmets but when you look at the front of a bike with its lights on and rider ontop all you can really see is the helmet and the arms. so a brightly coloured bike cant be seen from the back or front. black might me a great colour to keep clean but if white/red means a slpit second quicker been noticed i would rather have to clean it more

  • OGK FF-5 the new standard.

I am an ARAI man...but I am going with OGK next

  • Nice Lid (Y)

  • does this helment make u look like u have no neck?

bcuz sometimes, i see on the streets, those riding motorcycles, it looks as if they have no necks with their helmets on.

its like their shoulder is right beneath the helmet and looks like your crouching/slouching.

  • @o0jun0o The helmets desgined today are not just to protect the skull they protect the neck too, thats why some top brands invest removable saftey neckrolls. As for looking like you have no neck? Im not sure if you mean this helmet in perticuler or all helmets. If i didnt wear a neck warmer, you would just see bare skin. All helmets have slightly different designs and the ebst way to see which you like best (and is the safest) is to try them on and get a feel for them/ Thanks for the comment

  • thanks for the vid and link...tried one on on friday and going to order tomorrow morning : )

hope it looks as nice in the flesh as it does in the video

  • @oli333 Hey thats good man, Im glad i could help :D, there a beautiful helmet and for me i find this arai fits me better than all my old shoeis. hope you like it :D

  • Nice new lid!

I think where Arai really shines is in their ability to fit different head shapes. They are on my list when I get around to getting a new helmet. I don't know if it has changed but years ago I had a Shoei that fit loose on the sides and tight in the front. Gave me a headache everytime I wore it. It never broke in to fit me well.

  • @RC62 The excat same thing happened to me too, the new shoei gave me a headache, and Arai's just seem to fit my head shape better :)

  • LOVE IT. YES!!!

  • Thanks for the review. Good to see your doing well and that the brace will be off shortly. What ride you going for next ?

  • I am so glad to see you are doing better and waiting to get back in the saddle again. Nice review on the helmet. I don't own an Arie or a shoei but money should never be an issue when it comes to your head. In reality how much is your head worth to you anyways. I like Darkflight have an iicon.

  • @WildBill1006 Hey thanks man, im shocked your watching my vids, I love yours lol the one about the worst bike movie ever was so funny, i showed it to everyone lol. Thank you for the kind words, and yes i totally agree that money should never be a issue for saftey thats why i made the video to show the guys who ride in $50 lids that theres a difference :D hope your doing good buddy

  • love that helmet. I want one. but can't realy justify spending that much :(....I have an arai chaser...

  • @oli333 well seeing as were both vloggers i will let you into a secret to help you :) go on a place called helmetcity there selling that exact design for £380 brand new and size of your choice hope you can get it :D

  • @IornDog91 thanks man :D have no idea what size I'd be with the rx7 so will have to get to a shop asap to try some on! I take it you're getting back on the bikes then?

  • @DarkFlight600 Yeh I know alot of people who vlog in america or Canada use Icon, but they dont sell them over here (only ebay and that) so i didnt want to be getting a helmet that i coudlnt get a warrenty on :D but yeh i like Icon and the leathers they have a dont-mess-with-me look about them lol

Hope your doing good man :D

  • Hey man good video.

How much did your helmet cost? It's very nice indeed, looks visually pleasing too.

I hope you are felling well, you'll be 100% soon enough mate. Look forward to your return video.

    Lake.

  • @Crystalinalake Thanks Lake :D, the helmet was at a brilliant deal £380 or $450 but the RRP is around £600 $750

  • thats a v nice helm bro...helm cam broke in the awesome weather we have been having so ive also not vlog'ed for a long time...hope your legs alright :)
