  • I have it with the powerpack and high check rest installed and that reduced the check slap a lot

  • I have one on my 20 ga 870 and it does hit your cheek pretty good. Even with birdshot.

  • you need a pamela on the pump!

  • I have a Knoxx Spec Ops Stock attached to a Remington 870. The recoil is reduced a fair amount. You have to hold your cheek just above the stock or it slams into your cheek bone like you see in the video. Its not too bad but lifting your head up just a little keeps you from being jarred.. helps keep you focused on your target.

  • Good Vid. Put one on my Mossberg and removed it after firing a few rounds of buck and slugs. Slaps your cheek hard. Reminded me of shooting with a pogo stick. I wasted $110. Save your money and buy a LImb Saver.

  • why dont you use a laser gun/it has no recoil

  • ouchie to the cheek bone

  • I have the same stock on my Rem870 Police Magnum. I've went through 50 Winchester Super X slugs in one session and didn't experience any cheek slap. The manual does mention cheek slaps. They suggest that the stock be extended to the length you are still comfortable with. As far as my experience, it tames the recoil - especially with slugs. The negative was my trigger finger blistering from the trigger guard sliding back and forth.

  • As you fired and the stock absorved the recoil it appeared SQUIRMY...is that a fact?

  • i heard that stock makes the gun hit you in the face more than a normal non-recoil reduction stock

  • @morganjake I have the knoxx stock and yes with regular 00 Buck and 1oz slugs this stock slaps your fave/ cheek bone not very comfortable

  • I have been thinking to add the knoxx system to my mossy 500 but i have been getting alot of negative vibes about the stock pushing into he cheekbone cause of the spring in the grip..let me know how she shoots with full 00 buck

  • @RogueCivilian

Ive heard the same things. Id like to know as well before I purchase the wrong one. You find any answers about this yet?

  • Nice rewind skillz

  • Great success

  • wood and syn.... kinda strange looking sand if down stain black and work into wood for matte look

  • what load are those shells?

  • love the editing. nice touch

  • is that the gen 2 version of this stock?

  • Does that stock actually absorb the recoil?

  • @MarineUSA93 Yeah, It really works. This is shown in the slow-mo.

  • @Clongstreth That is pretty damn sick! How much reduction would you say percentage wise?

  • @MarineUSA93 yeah it dont work

  • @MarineUSA93

Ive heard mixed things about it. I dont really want to spend $100 to test it out. Im looking for a stock and Ive had several people say the recoil suppression on this type of stock isnt effective. Anyone test fired this kind specifically and maybe a different kind with some perspective?

  • @MarineUSA93 Yeah it does at the end of the day your shoulder won't be bruised but the metal buffer tube will mess up your face.

  • Hhhmm- Remington & Winchester shells..Wonder how many DIFFERENT loads?

  • wait...was that THUNDER??? nope, that was a shotgun, another force of nature!

  • hows your cheek after a day of shooting looks kinda irritating on the face ya know?

  • ever pinch ur finger? looks like it would

  • that was one of the coolest vids i have ever seen GREAT JOB man

  • @simonblue894 Thank you.

  • man, the recoil almost knocked the rear sight off.

  • 2 More shots and that rear sight is GOOONNE!!!

  • @sbd45acp Haahaa nice, I didn't catch that , loosey goosey

  • Nice editing

  • @fijillian Thanks

  • Man I wish I had one of these for my Remington 700 n 7mm magnum cuz it kicks like an angry horse and there isn't any fliping give it is just a solid WHAM!

  • Thanks for the video. Enjoyed it. missy

  • It's a great stock, no doubt about it.

  • The Knoxx Spec-Ops stock is manufactured in two models: The recoil-reducing model which has two springs and the non-recoil reducing model (NRS model) which has no springs. The NRS model only offers adjustable length-of-pull. It sounds like you might have purchased the model without recoil-reduction. If by some chance you did purchase the recoil-reducing model, then you got a great deal! Knoxx claims that the NRS model could be upgraded to a recoil-reducing stock.

  • i got this from midway usa today for $56 cant wait to put it on my 870 is this one you got different then mine cause i seen one that was $130 whats the difference?

  • There are different opinions on the percentage of the recoil reduction due to many factors such as shotgun models, variances in weight due to various configurations & accessories, type of ammo, handling & stance. The biggest difference is how it affects your mind with things like flinching, recoil anticipation, and confidence. You just feel better which makes you hold and handle the shotgun positively.

  • How does this affect semi autos?

  • @saabaru05 Doesn't go on any semi autos they are made for the 870 maverick 88 and mossberg 500/590/535/600

  • how much recoil do these rly reduce

  • @hopecamel It says 96% but i havent tried it yet im buying one soon

  • No video will demonstrate the recoil reduction! You must actually fire a shotgun with a Knoxx Spec-Ops recoil-reducing stock to feel the difference and believe me, there is a difference! I fired over 50 Winchester Super-X slugs consecutively (as fast as I can reload) with my 870 Police Magnum with no pain, soreness, or fatigue on my shoulder. But of course, nothing is perfect - don't let your trigger finger rest on the trigger guard - after 50 rounds some skin peeled-off!

  • FYI, some comments here lead me to believe that maybe some of you are unaware that there is a difference between a Knox stock [no recoil reduction] and the stock in this video- I have this recoil-reducing SpecOps stock, and my bro has the same gun as I [both Rem 870 Tacticals] with a solid stock; huge difference with magnum slugs and buckshot, wrap the sling around my forward hand and I have even better control- very cool to see this in slo-mo!

  • doesnt seem all to effective at reducing the recoil...

  • I tried a knoxx stock on my Mossberg 590A1 and came home with a large bruise on my cheek. It was difficult to get a good sight picture and I didn't notice much recoil reduction or decrease in muzzle rise. It totally wasn't worth the price. I'm starting to think that it's impossible to reduce the recoil. Maybe you can redirect it, or slow it down, but there is no reduction. Only way possible is to reduce the load (reduced recoil). However, with good technique it's not necessary.

  • @amaya1000rr

Yes I had the same problem.

  • is that cheek slap?

  • different colored shells, yay!

  • I just bought the NRS version of this stock. I'm still waiting for it in the mail. I chose the NRS because 12 gauge recoil in my opinion isn't that bad, and I don't like the fact that the gun moves during recoil. Like I said, it's just me, but I can't wait to get it and install it on my 870.

  • It's on my Christmas list.

  • nice, ill have to find on for my 500

  • 125 yrds ??? I'm from Wyoming on that!

  • I can see that the action recoils but the stock/pistol grip don't. Why does it look like the front of the trigger guard is smashing your finger? Maybe I'm missing something but that looks potentially bad for your trigger finger.

  • @wewd the trigger guard does move a certain amount toward the pistol grip, it's not usually an issue as there's still plenty of clearance, however I was firing my Rem 870 one day and was holding it sloppily, my trigger finger was resting against the side of the guard and it chafed my finger pretty good.

All in all I really like this stock.

  • very good product, it feels like the shotgun is launching the bullet as if its from a slingshot rather than exploding and kicking you in the arms deff worth the $130

  • Closer than ~10 yards with ANY (or no) choke and bank on greater than a 4" spread , you'll be disappointed when you miss your target. Next time skip the movies, go to the range.

  • ignore the nay-sayers. this absolutely reduces "felt" recoil !!! it effectively turns a harsh "kick" into a "push" which not only greatly reduces wear and tear on the shoulder but also allows one to more quickly re-train aim onto ones target. GREAT PRODUCT!!!!!!!!

  • does this stock really reduce the recoil all that much? I've heard that it does a lot and I've heard you can't really tell the difference. I'm thinking of buying one.

  • I would say it doesn't remove all the recoil, there's still going to be a significant push to the shoulder, albeit not as jarring and discomforting as with a normal stock. I was shooting lots of buckshot last week with my Moss 590 w/specops stock and wasn't sore at all afterward. But there's still a good amount of kick and if you're not holding the weapon correctly, you can still get hurt.

  • @denomolise

"Does this stock really reduce the recoil all that much" etc.

I feel a bit of of a fraud answering that question, because I've only fired two shotguns in my life. However one was fired immediately after the other and the recoil of the 1 1/8 ounce birdshot loads in the side-by-side was a hell of a lot more noticeable than in the semi-auto.

I imagine the Knoxx stock does the same as the semi-auto: it simply spreads the shock over a longer time, making it more comfortable.

  • I have a Mossberg 500 with this stock. I suggest buying it, I love mine. It leaves what i call an "enojoyable amount of recoil"

  • yeah i agree with you. i have this stock on a shotgun i use for hunting. i have tactical training also, but this works very well in thick swamps when you are stalking game that is typically on the move and u need to put multiple shots on target. at 125 yards with slugs this gun will drive nails with rapid firing.

  • Reducing recoil on a shotgun isn't necessarily controlling accuracy but instead on ensure faster sighting of the target. With a shotgun you only need to be close unless your using slugs.

Keep in mind that this stock is marketed towards LE and the Armed Forces, and as such being able to target the subject/object faster is what matters....especially since the main load would be buckshot.

  • only need to be close? Even with Bird Shot, a 12gauge is only going to throw a 3-4 inch spread in CQB (even without choke).

  • wouldnt that effect accuracy with the reveiver bouncing around like that

  • It's a shotgun shooting birdshot, buckshot, and slugs. No. Besides, there's not much 'accuracy' to start with.

Even then, the projectile has left the barrel before the reciever starts to move back.

  • i was thinking of skeet shooting were every bit of accuracy counts. and yes i know its a shotgun and i know it shoots birdshot buckshot slugs and even been bags if you want to.

and when you can hit something at 50 yards with a slug, well that doesnt sound like theres not accuracy in there some were does it

  • Point is, you won't know the difference.

  • doubt it.... should be out the barrel before the barrel moved much to effect a scatter gun just my thoughts

  • thanks

  • That seems to decrease felt recoil quite a bit. Maybe I should get one of those.

  • dude you should chang the foregrip....wood looks funny with that stock on

  • I'm a proud owner of specops stock! " shooting all day with slugs" Next project, installing tritium sights on my 870! :)

  • Awsome dude! I'm getting on on my 870! can't wait! :)

  • i have one on my mossy 500 and it works really well

  • did the pistol grip move back with the receiver at each recoil?

  • No the pistol grip is stationary to the back of the stock

  • The receiver slides back and forth on the upper ramp of the stock. Felt recoil is reduced via a series of springs.

  • does the trigger slide back with the receiver too?

  • Yes, but not enough to notice while shooting.

  • ok. nobody got pinched anyway.

  • I saw somewhere that this stock is supposed to reduce buckshot recoil to around .223 levels, but it looks like you're getting knocked around WAY more than .223 would.

  • I recently installed the knoxx on a rem 870 12g, the stock absorbs recoil very well....its now a pleasure to fire a few 3" mags in it.

  • o ya, this stock kicks ass, i never shot loads that made it suppress that far, i got a red dot sight and have been hit in the face tho from "missgudging" the recoil suppression

  • I sooo need one of those

  • if u got a mossberg i got one u could buy, check the vid of my shotgun, i wanna sell all the 3rd party parts off it, it has the spec ops stock and hogue grip to match. hit me up if u want anything u see in the vid, except the reciever and long barrel, i'll even hook it up through ebay if u like but i aint listen parts unless i know 4 sure some1 wants it. i know people mark spam when sellin shit is mentioned but im just wantin enuf $ for a 38 or 357 revolver, ill put the shotty bak 2 a birdy gun

  • well then, i'm happy for you...

  • what type of rd. were you shooting?

  • Looks like a mix of Buck and a few slugs (the green shells) But I could be mistaken

  • good eye! i did not see the mix of green and red at 1st

  • NICE, how many fps was the video for this originally? 60?

  • I shot the video in the standard 30 FPS.

  • what editing program did you use to make this clip?

  • I used Adobe Premiere Pro CS3.

  • @Clongstreth Is it really worth the $115 for the stock?

  • good, & next time you see 1 be sure to shoot yourself w/ it...

  • Heh, before you criticize people on their choice of firearms, you should probably learn something about them, first.

  • yeah well that's an 870, i've never heard of 700 shotgun, but, i've heard of remmington 700 rifle that police & swat use

  • Awesome clip! I may need to get me one of those

  • Now that's beautiful.

No pain, just all full power.

  • i have the Spec ops as well.. u can see my Vid... so far i love it.. just i dont like how u cant change the stock to say... vltor or anything -_-...

  • this stock really is awesome, totally worth the money, The Mrs. can now handle 12gauge mag loads np. Short & Sweet

  • Spec Ops. Worth the money??

  • when you remove the trigger assembly does the pistol grip get in the way is what i got out of it

  • when you clean the gun, do you have to remove the pistol grip (PG)??? Because i have seen some PG that get in the way of the trigger assembly (or Fire Control Group).

  • No it doesn't get in the way, trigger assembly comes out free and clear.

  • Is it more difficult to fully rack with each cycle?

  • When you remove the FCG does the PG get in the way?

  • Please elaborate on the abbreviations, the stock was easy to install and works well.
