I'm a huge Sex Pistols fan, but I hate it when they are called and call themselves the fathers of punk rock. They made 1 record and it was made after bands like The Ramones had already been around for a few years and records predate them and they were around for decades after The Sex Pistols 2 year career was over. I guess you could call them the father's of British punk, but not New York punk. CBGB's had punk bands playing long before The Sex Pistols were around.

Great Band so what if sid couldn't play no one knew that at the time. There raw aggressive anarchic style was unique when it exploded on to the seen you either loved them or hated them. The music scene needed a change at the time Glam rock was dead and disco belched out from every club in the country. It was true shock to the system and who cared what people think about them now or then or whenever it was great at the time and there music lives on.
