there was this kid who got kicked out of the gig because of stage-diving. courtney saw him and he was wearing the red-black-striped sweater and she wanted kurt to have it, because it looked so cool...so she bought it from the kid and forced kurt to wear it... or something.

Exactly right, The guy was the original owner of the red and striped jumper. Courtney bought it off him. He didn't want to sell it at first because it was his jumper and he liked it himself, but Courtney thought Kurt would look like Sid Vicious in it. The guy eventually gave in to Courtney, and she put it on Kurt.

I dunno, seems like some of their accounts have been influenced by the 1-d pop image of Kurt and Courtney. Like Kurt the emotional, weedy rockstar and Courtney being so controlling.
