All these are things that lawyers are sworn to uphold. While it is the defense job to force the prosecution to prove the case. @88jmct To me there needs to be a line drawn on what a lawyer can state to the case without leading to testimony later to prove the instance. Right now lawyers are being allowed to enter evidence or at least plant things into the minds of the jury without testimony or having the suspect take the stand. To me if the defense wants to talk to why they are innocent they should do it from the stand not from the lawyers box. Just my two cents.

@mjmitch33 Didn't say IT was the first. I think he began a issue that sooner or later the courts will have to deal with. The act of lawyers stating things that the evidence does not support and that witnesses are not later called to corroborate. I do not think situations like Johnny talking of Columbian drug cartel and such should be spoken of unless he can corroborate it later with testimony from someone. We just had the same in the Casey Anthony case. Baez talking of her dads sexual abuse.

That is what defense attorneys do and will continue to do (their job) , use every tactic they can to get their client off, whether with witness corroboration or not. It's left up to a jury to decide. It cannot continue like that as I feel jurors are being fed information by someone who is not under oath. The Baez attorney in the Casey Anthony case talking of sexual abuse was outragous for me. No attorney has the right to smear a victim like he did and then never call a witness to testify to that theeory. Sanctions on lawyers are neededm now!

You do whatever it takes to get the acquittal. As for Cochran's defence of OJ, everybody is entitled to a fair trial. What OJ did was bad, but others have done far worse.

Even defense attorneys are not able to speak in court if they know something is not true. In this case Johnny called witnesses to testify OJ was not cut on the airplane, despite OJ telling police in an interview that he was cut at his house before leaving for the airport. This = perjury and what is wrong with our system.
