  • Thanks for the great demonstration. Your macaroons look great. I plan to try out this recipe for this Christmas's cookies. I have tried to do macaroons a few times before, with the result a sticky mess. Your video showed me some things that I have been doing wrong.

Do you have a recipe for a CHOCOLATE version of the coconut macaroon? (Not chocolate-dipped, because I could just use this recipe and dip it in chocolate, of course.)

  • @dancewakko5 you mean with cocopowder? i guess you could. or there are two other ways of doing this: 1) melt chocolate and incorporate into batter and bake or 2) melt chocolate, let it cool for a little bit then pour into plastic bag/piping bag and drizzle over macaroons! personally i like the second choice much better or else the coconut flavor gets overpowered by the chocolate :)

  • from 5:13 to 5:21,, she sounds like shes in a porno sceen

  • 5:18 Laura just had a foodgasm,

  • @alexxx1836 No.

  • hey laura am actually make these right now and i think i oer did on the condensed milk on a small pack of the coconut and i made to much of the egg whites but i only placed half of it in cuz of the too much milk and not enough coconut........ lastly i could not get any of the cream of tartar soooo i used lime juice and added powders sugar to the egg white...... the macaroons are in the oen right now ........ i need advice... am only 15 help :(

  • soo nice yea.i like ur coockies.

  • hmmm its in the oven right now, smells great, but im not sure if they will work out... i used dried shredded coconut (it was the only one i could find) and the mixture looked too dry to me.. i added some water.. hope they will be great anyhow!!

  • Whats the recipe 0:04 ?

  • I'm asking this question, because some recipes are picky...If you were making more than one batch, should you just double the recipe or make two batches?

  • OMG i just like had a smelling moment nd i amelt some sweet stuff... akward..

  • @beautyobsessedxx yeppp that's sweetened condensed milk =]

  • @raytaz01 well she used sweetened coconut shreds and sweetened condensed milk so I think that'd where the sugar comes from so no need for extra

  • Laura how are you not 500 pounds with all the good food?

  • I noticed you didn't add any sugar to it.. Most of the recipes i have seen has suger add to it.

  • I did this exact recipe for my moms birthday and they turned out great and my mom loved them so much we even started to give them for my grandma's brithday and she loved it too :) great recipe.

  • @mikhayelataran you can leave it out. It wont taste exactly the same but they will still be yummy. :)

  • @LauraVitalesKitchen thanks i think you cook really good food :)

  • @mikhayelataran I use vanilla extract

  • how important is cream of tarter, I'm planning to make this guy i like some coconut macaroons for valentines day they're his fav. but i want to know how important they are to the recipe, is it ok if i omit it?

  • @bbabb131814 cream of tartar insures that the eggwhites stay stiff and dont deflate. If you make these without it i am not sure if they will hold their shape while baking. :)

  • @LauraVitalesKitchen cream of tartar can be replaced by white vinegar

  • @LauraVitalesKitchen

    a little tip:

if you want you can dip the underside in melted chocolate :D it taste even better !<3<3 uuuhmm

i always buy them but i will try your recipe :) thanx alot and loove you videos<3

  • what happen if i didnt have a cream of tarter how important its to the recipe to have it in thanks

  • @princess15782 The measurements are listed in the recipe - It's listed in the complete list of recipes on my site, to get there click "View All" link under the recipes page on the main site - It's titled "Coconut Macaroons".

    ~Laura

  • @LauraVitalesKitchen I cannot find the recipe on your website to...

  • wow... that's very nice...

we used to make one when i had my food trades elective back when i was in high school..

this is one of favorite... ;)))

  • as its near christmas time you should make like plum pudding or christmas cake or something like that

  • In Germany we use dry coconut flakes, same volume of icing sugar, vanilla, almond extracts, egg whites and that is it! Just as good and moist as Lauras but MUCH friendlier to your waist line ;-)

  • I want to make these!!!

  • do u know how to make cornbread????

  • coconut macaroons are a HUGE thing here in Norway for christmas :)

  • do a video in ya supermarket .. show us how u shop!!

  • were can i buy the cream of tar? i dont know how its spelled.....

  • love ittt1

  • @xheathermichelle The sweetened coconut is usually in the baking section next to the chocolate chips

  • @LauraVitalesKitchen So do you only use half the eggwhites in the mixture, or do you just put them in half and half? I am going to try to make these today, but that part was skipped/not explained in the video or in the recipe directions.

  • @xheathermichelle hi there, yes i did add all of the egg whites i just added them a little at a time so that it all gets blended well. Hope this hepls! :)

  • Haven't eaten one of those in years! They sure look good. I'll make a batch and see how they come out!

  • They looks great!!
