  • hey which is the song name :D

    pleasee :(

  • nick you make it look so easy!

  • I've seen this video a few times but this was the first I had ever watched the end! I can't believe I was missing out on that. That was hilarious.

  • If you learn this move and the reverse antispin weave, you can explore "antispin weave fountains". They feel really cool, and lead to other types of "compound flowers": You basically take a small flower pattern and move it around to make a bigger flower pattern, layered like a fractal!

My nano-tech Blog #6 shows an antispin weave fountain in slow-mo: watch?v=w0vuiG3HSfM

  • hahahaha

  • wow learnt this once your vids taught me the split time TTn and butterfly turn, and only just found this, its such a legendary weave, I also am learning to apply isolations to it, time time time ;)

  • have ronan make a tut on his ronan float things he was doing at the end. that was super cool!

  • Was your birds eye view technology a step ladder? Haha great lesson.

  • Great tutorial...I learned from this monthes ago and only now found a fun way to play this move, revisiting it after ages. Learn it in forward and reverse spin, then switch from side to side in wall plane. The poi bounce around you body front and behind and side to side...a nice picture in my book. Plus it allows you to dance with it. You put out wonderful stuff Nick!!

  • I find that using 4 beats,

you have to think about it too much.

(like you said in the video)

    and is VERY difficult.

    However,

    3 beats flows naturally,

probably because of there being 3 beats in a weave?

  • lol cheers nik XD

  • LMAO the end of this video is hillarious!! Thanks for the tutorial it's really helping, strangely when it comes to flowers i'm much better at anti-spin than I am at regular so hoping I'll be the same for this move :D x

  • thanks for the vid! totally not ready though because i'm having a hard t ime with the flowers.

  • helpful mate

  • ha that last bit is awesome! ill see if i can get some drugs to lure him back

  • is there a continuation of the ending out there?

  • holy hippies! just kidding. its good stuff.

  • lmao XD at the end furrr fufufurrrrrr *poi birds* lolollolololol

  • You guys have too much control its crazy... great bit in the end there.. Drugs will lure anyone!

  • LMAO at the end.

  • I foresee injuries if I try this.hehe

    Thanks

    Jack

  • i'll see if i can get some drugs to lure him back lol

  • That's awesome!...especially love the ending and monkey sounds

  • Gotta say showing these moves from top is a stroke of genius. Awesome.....love it!

  • you have gay pants :P

  • you make it look sooo easyyy

    (:

    x

  • I think those pois are self made, if they are i wanna know what kind of cloth u used Meenik ;)

  • What kind of POI is in this film, is it usually SOCK POI or may be another ??? Can somebody give me the website page , where I can order this kind because it is sure fantastic !!! answer, please ;)

  • Great video. The easiest way I got it is to start from the buzzsaw and go into the antispin flower like nick does at 1:40. Then from there just gradually go into the antispin weave by crossing your hands.

  • nick,

As always, Thank you sOOO much! you are amazing at teaching (and at poi obviously!) Ive been wanting to learn this for a while now. i think i understand it now.

    peace and love,

    Matt

  • lol that was great

  • This was very informative. Maybe one day I'll actually figure it out...sometimes my hands don't want to work correctly! ...and about the ending...YOU'RE SILLY!!! :-)

  • Nick! thanks for a comprehensive tutorial and funny funny comentry. Hope you manage to find a way to slip the A-S weave into your routines. Can I request more vids on the more innovative tricks like the floaters pleeeease?

  • love the vids..... still feel kinda stuck tho... got anything mindblowing??

  • Great ending. :) Thanks again for more instruction and inspiration.

  • Best ending ever. lmao

  • Once again, great video... lots to think about!

    :-)

  • Oh, btw, anyone know what type of poi are being used in the video??? Thanks!

  • They're some of the poi that Nick made/had made while he was in Bali. These are the ones without swivels if my eyes do not decieve me :)

  • Thank you. Very good.

  • I refer to the full arm anti spins as, anti spin compound circles. Maybe this is the wrong name but just for people who are wondering what to call them. very nice video nice ending. :)

  • I think the reason antispin weave feels like TTN is because your hands are doing the same thing as a reverse/upwards/outwards TTN.

Also... floaters is a good name... been playing with those a bit, but in a different plane.

  • The antispin weave is a Same Direction TTN in the wheel plane.

  • Kinda... in the same sense that weaves have subtle threading that goes on as well.

  • (my last one was to Insignia as well)

    Insignia:

The forwards antispin weave does have the same pattern of hand positions as a reverse 3-beat (with more space to accommodate the poi not hitting you). It also has the same pattern of 'plane facing' (pf) switches, and crossover points (cp). It still does 3 revolutions per poi (3 beats). But as we know 3 revolutions = 4 antispin foils.

  • (and finally)

    to insignia:

If you were to hand out on one side and repeat that side over and over, with out pf switches and a thread to get back to the start, that would be more like a same direction TTN... but it would be a 3-beat TTN. If you did a 2-beat TTN it would have 3 antispin foils.

Another fun thing to do is expand the normal 3-beat weave into a 2 petal flower weave.

  • Ah, that totally makes sense. You cease to amaze me man, lol.

  • that tough haha

  • hahaha quality ending!! how good are those floaters. 0_0

  • Glad to see you found somewhere good to film that :)

    ...

    ...

    Yay for floaters :D :P

  • awesome stuff cheers nick

  • lol for the ending ^^ good job explaining *
