I finally watched, this Oskar!! LOVED IT! I also was completely captivated by everything and I liked the look of the warped home video tape of the killer. The part with Cheryl Dempsey at the end was so freakin' sad and I love how they zoomed onto her face and you could see by her dead eyes her soul had been destroyed. I really hope this gets an official release.
Excellent review and I just watched it myself - I concur with your views. It has it's flaws and is rough in places (some of the acting/script) but well worth watching for when it hits home which trust me, in a few places it most certainly does
@5HourBoner Hm..it's not letting me post the link. But if you look over in related videos it's titled "The.Poughkeepsie.Tapes."..first one on the list for me
gotta love b films. great job on the review bud. if you havent already check out the midnight meat train....overall a pretty cool movie but the ending....uggg just frustrating. keep up the good work
I really appreciate this review, I've been looking for the movie myself, I would really like to see it. If you could help me I would be very thankful. Send me a personal message if you wouldn't mind helping.
On another note if you want to see another film to be engrossed in, S&Man is where you need to be looking. Watch it without internet interpretation, you will not be disappointed. Thank you sir I hope to hear from you.
The poughkipsee tapes is mostly hollywood drama the only things that were true is that the killer was in poughkipsee and he killed prostitutes. He didn't even record his murders. The killer didn't really torture them and didn't do the creepy things you see in it aswell. I think the most stupidest thing is the director said he didn't know francois was til after he made the movie. Hollywood confuses me.
I felt more disturbed after watching The Poughkeepsie Tapes than I did Salo. The very real possibility of people out there doing the things that were done in the movie on an everyday basis is the part that really makes your mind work. Its been 4 years, has there been any word on a potential dvd release in the future?

The quality of the tapes let the viewer use their imagination instead of being shown straight up what's going on. I loved it.
