yikes, that is like me with my new plane, took it to the field 4 different times before it actually flew... and landed on purpose. LOL! Keep trying and don't give up.
First thing I would try is just what you're doing. Make the cg even to the leading edge of the wing. Other thing is the closer your control surfaces are to your pivot points, the less stability you have. If the cg adjustment doesnt work, lengthen the tail.

We have got more down thrust now and moved the CG fwd more.
Next test flight we will see if it improves.

increase the downthrust of the motor and some right thrust as well. Other than that looks like you are on the right track!

Good first test!
Here are some suggestions I can come up with:
Looks like the tail is not tall enough.
Minimize the the throws on the rudder
Your CG should be in the front 1/3rd of the wing.
Off-center the battery to fight the torque roll.
