  • @FiddlerAdam Youtube, note your theory class.

  • @FiddlerAdam Those aren't very good reasons. The repeat is part of the piece just as the composer intended. The conductor is obliged not to change the piece (that would be disrespectful) unless there is a practical reason such as time restraints. Also, people who don't have the patience for these so-called "repeats" probably don't listen to classical music in the first place. And why in the world would one edit out part of a piece after recording? None of those hypotheses make any sense.

  • i love playing this song on my violin,

  • Hmmm. I didn't think it was so bad. They seemed to struggle a bit at the opening on the pacing, but once they got going at about the 2:10 minute mark they seemed to get the sense of it pretty good. Yeah, I have heard better, but still, this one is not so bad as some folks are making it out to be (as far as not repeating the exposition, that may have been a time limit thing to make it fit on Youtube).

  • @gurlsingerfan "Struggling on the pacing"... well, that's XVIIIth century music in general for average modern performers, from the Berliner down to any school ensemble.

  • Sorry to be a little critical, but this isn't such a great recording of the 104 by Haydn. And they didn't repeat the exposition before the development (repeat barline at bar 108).

    Just a heads-up.

  • Horrible version.

  • i played tht in honors orchestra abt 3-4 weeks ago it was fun

  • One of my fave symphonies -- I played it when I was 13. Thanks so much for posting it!
