Tell me how such a grand and noble people have barely made it out of the dark ages? You talk about history because your people have know future, hang it up jack, the worlds tired of you.

  • I have erection...

  • he shot down a wounded pilot .aircraft is surely going down and you call him hero??no this is a murder.

  • @sahtekar1000 You're an idiot. I hope your Mother understands that if you ever get called to war she'll be getting a notice of your quick death.

  • @BayouCityHtown no your idiot's himself.im am Turk an i know better than anyone what is war and i had been in armed forces.so shut up and go learn something about real aces of Luftwaffe.these are all propoganda and distorted.i say history channel is not showing the facts.the fact is easy you and yor heroes joined the war after luftwaffe lost his half of strenght so your pilots get down a 109 with 5 of his friends while helping.now go to your home and drink some milk before bed.

  • @sahtekar1000 You're a Turk. You mean a mass murderer and coat-tail rider? For your own knowledge there were hundreds of American pilots fighting for the Brits and the Chinese long before America actually declared war. I hope the Kurds hang your ass.

  • @BayouCityHtown so you know how we fucked britain.france.new zealand, austrailans and greeks in ww1.pray to gods cos you never faced againts Turks. So what you did do 30 million indians? or africans?also we fuck kurds for thousand years:) they are cockroaches sentenced to crush:) so dont try selling them weapons or giving them money.we'r here forever.now i say one more time drink milk before bed kid.

  • @sahtekar1000 it said the aircraft was "wounded", not the pilot shithead

  • germans loose lots of aircraft but usaf loose only 1 or 2.whooo what a wonderful world.im niether german nor american but this is not history.everbody knows that german pilots always flew outnumbered by allies but even in that condition they shot down their enemies with their incredible skills.thats why ı respect them much more than other pilots.15-20 score would make you a superhero in Usaf but in Luftwaffe you would just be another newbie.these videos .

  • wut happen to eddie simpsons?????

  • what kinda prop is that at 0.27 looks like twin props counter rotateing cool tho

  • they also killed millions of lifes...

fuck usa, you were no heroes!

  • chuck yeager says that bud anderson is the best fighter pilot he's ever seen...are you kidding me ? imagine michael jordan telling somebody you are the best basketball player i've ever seen.....insane compliment !!!

  • This action did not take place in 1943 it took place on May 27,1944. And to the moron who thinks this is a made up story....get real!

  • Interesting that the ME-109 pilot never fired his weapons.........?

  • @dpsh1760 well the german only had 150 rounds cannon..and 1200 mg top guns...

playing games does that;;you think they have loads. of ammo.

  • @terryjohn I know how much ammo they carried, I was just saying that the 109 pilot seemed to be in firing position at close range twice, but never fired according to Anderson.

  • @dpsh1760 sorry yes;but rembr its just a film made up-that might not be how the fight was in realaity,,i agree too.why didnt he.fire!!

  • who was the german pilot -bud got last?.from what told..he made it up..

  • @terryjohn the german name is yahhon smith

  • @Felton321 source?

    cheers

  • Did Germans have much experience fighting P-51's at this point? It seems that the German pilots Anderson fought against were unfamiliar with the P-51's capabilities. The Bf-109 drivers shouldn't have tried to out turn or out climb that machine.

  • @DeathWishMonkey as of that time in the war, most german aces are dead or out of action. noobs flew luftwaffe then

  • @nakazatoGTR This happened in 1943. Germany wasn't really hurting for aces until the battle of the bulge, some time later.

  • Hollywood!

  • Not only were our pilots 100 X better than any other pilots, they were better looking, had prettier wives. They also had better table manners and IQ's in the genius range, without exception. If they got shot they could do surgery on themselves with a pocket knife and soup spoon (they all carried one) and return to the fight immediately. One Mustang pilot even climb onto the cowling and repaired a shot out cylinder while in flight.

There. Now you have something to actually bitch about.

  • @Rikki0 LOL yes this show is so bias!

  • Grteat video, great dvd, but one thing I hate about this series is the pro-american bullshits. They are making out as they are the greatest!!!! Sick of it.....to make a dvd even better, it need to take 'both sides'......

  • Always the winner make the history! I can´t belive it!?!

The german Fighter Pilots are verry good. But in the videos they lost always 100 machines and the american lost one or two. lol... think about it.... its only Hollywood!!! The World War was a desaster for both sides!!! And the germans lost the war narrowly in 1942 and 1943...

  • @DanielaFetsch The real facts is German lost the War when it attacked Russia and declared war against America. At that point it was never going to win.

  • @WizzRacing I agree..hitler,shud have gone Russia first..but i hate ground wars.

  • @DanielaFetsch 1940 was then lost to them...battle of britain

  • true hero's we owe them so much

  • "To Fly and Fight"

The best book I ever read.

  • my grandfather used to really do these moves p51 forever!

  • why before i see a video like this, i know who is gone to win? :)

  • I met bud anderson 2 times, both at the mustang invatational. bud is a true american hero

  • I met bud anderson 2 times, both at the mustang invatational

  • Here are some ideas that last German pilot could've done.

    1. Retreat with your wingman, and live to fight another day.

    2. When you did your left turn, you should have turned hard right, to see if that trick works, a third time.

    3. Try to bail and, parachute out, if your not, too scared.

But I think we all can agree that, it was his time, to go.

  • @Flutterflyraptor Me 109 turn rotten on right turns..AKA-left turns..

  • Bud Anderson is a true American Hero! Salute you Bud!

  • @PA28140 A hero of a stinking nation? That doesn't sound good at all...

  • chuck yeager called bud anderson the best fighter pilot he's ever seen.....are u serious ??? i guess if michael jordan call you the best basketball player he's ever seen , you're pretty much the bomb !

  • Damn boy! Trying to outclimb a P-51 B in a BF 109 G is no way to get a Knights Cross with oakleafes and swords. I wonder what happened to the last german pilot. Either he was killed instantly, knocked unconscious or was trapped inside.

  • Is there anyway to find out if Anderson was on escort duty on 26 Nov 1944 over Misburg. The 491st Bomber Group (H) was tasked bombing the oil refiner there, They had an escort of 190 P-51 and about 50 P-47.

  • @ Mattebubben That's quite possible. He may have also just been manoeuvring to dive away. I still say Anderson was right in continuing to fire.

  • What people have failed to address is the affect of recoil on a plane when it shoots. If the german had fired too early or tried some snap shots the 30mm cannon would have caused his plane to lose air speed much quicker and therefore stall even earlier than it did. Either way he was a dead man. As for people decrying Anderson shooting a plane when it was upside down? Don't be ridiculous. As long as the man was inside the plane he was a fair target. You think you wouldn't have taken that shot?

  • @Smoshy16 well germans went upside down before bailing so maby he was trying to unhock his Harness?

  • of course he would have been shootin if he was in the right position even while climbing.

  • pathetic ..........

  • Anderson is doing something really dishonorible when he fires at the me109 after it had rolled over on it's back. What the german pilot is doing is preparing to bail out. Rolling over on the back was a standard procedure, and Anderson just kills him. It's war I know but what the hell was he thinking!?

  • @Voizez He should have gotten out of Anderson's 6 before trying that. Looked more like he was trying to block any shots at his wing man and give him time to get out.

  • @8Einherjar8 he wasn't in andersons 6 he was in andersons 12:00. anderson was on his 6. but your point is still valid. hard to say what was happening in his cockpit though. might have allready been dead fire in the cockpit who knows.

  • @123456789mischief yeah your right.

  • @Voizez maybe he was tryin a trap-the me pilot.let mustangs fly by him.

  • btw the 109 was in the ovie right after the P51....he climbed after him..if the movies shows the reality..why isnt the 109 shooting at the 51?....only explaination....its faulty...the Me109 mght be destroyed by Ace Anderson...but no the way we are told here..cause its only a story by wannebees and madesomedudes...called today aces...that should not diminish the need to fight the idiodic Nazis an all their ideoligies...it just should show that propaganda was also present on allied side

  • @grazyarnie

during the climb when Anderson was behind, well see for yourself he shooted and shooted...like a real ace.Yeah Anderson is an Ace...call the next one in his F22 and let him shoot on a Yak40..cause some terrorists are suspected on that flight....let him shoot down that plane, let him avoid hundred or thousand of deaths.....is the Pilot in his F15 a hero cause he avoided another tragedy on 11 th September ?...no that hero is forgotten...cause he missed to shoot down 4 more aircarfts

  • @grazyarnie and again sir. this is a matter of status. you downed 5 planes in combat, you are an ace. that's the unwritten rule in aerial combat. it does not automatically gives the holder the hero title. heroes are being buried. aces are being celebrated.

  • @grazyarnie the jerry pilot could not pull lead on anderson hence, he was not able to fire for he knew it would be a waste of his ammo. on anderson's part. he was able to properly lead the jerry hence he was firing. taking the fight into the vertical was the favorite ploy of jap pilots in their nimble zero. if an f4f wildcat go after them, it would stall thus easy kill for them. they used the same tactic with the f6f hellcat, and they never lived to tell the story.

  • @grazyarnie if the 109 shot at the 51 while they were climbing debris would hit the 109 and if he shot it down the 109 would run into the 51.

  • @vroomba03 yea sure. keep on dreamin.

  • @PzAufklaerer12Btl what are you talking about

  • @vroomba03

    thx for that expert answer

  • Not sure of the point your making. Please elaborate.

  • The accepted sign for surrender of an aircraft in combat was to lower the wheels - not roll it upside down! I would do precisely what Anderson did - blow it out of the sky.

Great recreation of the action though!

  • @flysouth1

the only pilot I have read who has the urge to kill was Johnson. He witnessed a german blasting out a bomber. when he engaged the german, he noted that it was a skilled pilot. he damaged the geman plane, and the pilot was about to bail out (his leg was half way out) when he shot him. In Johnson's words, "he was the good, one of the very best I've encountered, but the dive was his mistake. never again will he take sight of our big friends"

  • a pilot in a Me109 who tries to climb out a P51 Mustang must be rooky...so dont claim it was a veteran...it was rookie with skill, talent and some experience...

And again I thought of Anderson of a brave and proud man, but when seeing his sixth kill I would say he was even a corpse slaughter sometimes....

The american aces need every kill and therfore I would say...well done folks...good kills be proud of Your aces even if they shot down parachutes or stricken surrendered pilots

  • @grazyarnie

some germans did shoot on parachutes but we dont call them heroes...even our military did some cruel deeds..maybe the worst in history... but we dont celebrate al of their victories

  • @grazyarnie sir, an idea was being floated out to US pilots about shooting down bailed out jet pilots. they were told to work out their calculations. a jet can destroy 3 bombers in an engagement hence 30 crewmen are lost (KIA, MIA, POW).

And it takes almost the same time to train pilots to fly jets and teh time to manufacture them. their answer? "NO".

Identical when galland was asked by goehring regarding shooting parachuting british pilots in battle of britain

  • Comment removed

  • @grazyarnie sir, that pilot was no rookie by any means. a pilot taking the fight into vertical is confident he can outflew his opponent. probably he was accustomed in engaging the p-47s (before the paddle blades series) and was not familiar with the capabilites of the p-51s.

and even veteran pilots makes a mistake of diving against heavier american planes to get out of a tight situation. this tactic is applicable to spitfires and p-38s not the jugs and p-51s.

  • @burjegol

I am not attacking the roe (rules of engagement) of the Allied forces...as a matter of fact I really had a good talk with a former ww2 british submariner.....and he had only good words to german sailors and their behaviour, even that he admitted that germans didnt rescue shipwrecked and so did the "holy british"...he knew about british ship crews who started fire on shipwrercked germans....thats anti allied behaviour so it needs to be kept down.....van Imhoff is a good example

  • @grazyarnie roger on that. just mentioning facts regarding the ROE of allied airmen. chivalry still exist in the air by that time. not so with subs vs surface forces. allies prosecute german subs as mucha s they could. the damage they could inflict on the convoys were tremendous. so with the US subs vs japanese. O'kane said " realizing that the blows we received were from the victims of our handiwork, we could take it with less prejudice" happy hunting

  • @grazyarnie I would like to remind you of what Manfred Von Richtofhen spoke, "Get in close behind the enemy and kill him, the rest is just rubbish." And by the way, flysouth is correct, recognized procedure for surrender is lowering of gear, Flying upside down can be too easily misconstrued as an air combat maneuver, especially in the split second timing of a dogfight.

  • @MrAndyBear

well "split second times were not prevailing the at the air superior times of the allies...and that of course was the case at this time...if someone calls itself Ace of WW2 it would be like someone would call itself ace of shooting down Pucaras over the Falklands.

No british pilot at that war calls himself "ace" why...? cause they respect the deeds of people, pilots facing a better, more educated enemy are not feeling superior..they understand these facts..

  • @grazyarnie Not meaning to show any disrespect to you or any pilots. You seem to think that this engagement was ended callously by Anderson. I respectfully disagree.Rolling inverted can be and is a precursor to a number of combat maneuvers. A skilled fighter pilot would be leery of that action.

  • @grazyarnie sir, the definition of an ace, any pilot who downed 5 airplanes in aerial combat. be it fighter, bomber, transport, trainer, and like. so, if a pilot in an F-15 downs 5 Albatross or SE 5s, he will still be called an ace.

No british pilot at the falklands war calls himself an ace. why? mebber they haven't downed the required 5 planes.

  • @burjegol

tell that to Mr Harrier, one of my favorite british....Mr Harrier is Nigel David ward...calle Sharkey...he would be an ace in order of Your explanation....and if he misser one or two kills...he would be a real guy who could call himself...ace....not the numbers should count, the deeds should....if we should call every german pilot a hero cause of five victories...we would be a land full of ancestors of heroes, glorious fighters and men..we are not...we are children of normal people

  • @burjegol

and please...dont call me Sir....I am a guy not a sir....Sir is a noble title...I dont deserve this....I am part of some former nobility but not anymore..now I am just arnie

  • @grazyarnie

    and am grazie...:o)

  • @grazyarnie a, e, sorry, it's jusst a habit of addressing unknown people. besides, calling you sir does not necessarily denotes nobility. just identical with a title MR. no offense meant

  • @burjegol

sorry I know my compare sucks...I am sorry I never wanted to question the deeds of american pilots.

  • @burjegol Navy pilot Duke Cunningham talked about taking a fight into the vertical with an enemy during the Viet Nam War. He said he knew he latched on to a "Honcho", (experienced dogfighter) when he looked over his shoulder and saw the Mig in the vertical with him. It turned out that he had tangled with North Vietnamese pilot, Col. Tomb, who had 13 kills to his credit. They continued in the vertical for most of the engagement, until Cunningham shot him down. This agrees with your statement.

  • so Andersons sixth kill was a kill of a wounded bird...it would have been a german shooting at a plane upside down...showing the vulnerable belly, well any dog knows, thats a sign of surrender, maybe the german was wounded and couldnt get out of his belts to bail out...anyhow we will never know but Anderson will stay a hero shoooting down an enemy airplane...dont get me wrong thze Nazis needed to get defeated but the hailing and praising of such actions like shooting down a wounded is weird

  • brave men all

  • the commentator says that it is his sixth kill, but on the Old Crow there are 9 kill counts.
