  • Wow this is faster than all the other performance's I've listened to

  • Just been watching the hairs on my arms rise while listening to this - awesome.

  • Amazing that Beethoven composed this, while completely deaf. (I read his biography). He conducted the first performance of the piece. After the completion, one of the band members had to turn him around, to see the thunderous ovation from the audience.

  • wow wow wow wow wow wow

  • Partipating in a perfomance like this should be on everyone's list of things to do before you die.

    Fixed it for ya!

  • I like the orchestra and the conductor..

But the soloists suck, and they have no harmony between them..

  • absolutly breathtaking...I admit i cried

  • we have found 12 people who didnt go for the performance

  • brilliant! and the victoria concert hall is such a historical place for singapore too.

  • One of the best songs ever! <3 Beethoven was an amazing composer.

  • He uses Beethoven's metronomes, unlike Leinsdorf.

  • Yea

  • Yea i agree i play in an orchestra myself

  • I don't know if Beethoven was happy but he clearly knew what joy was.

  • nice performance, would have been better if the baritone (Bass??) didnt actually get drunk before singing

  • Nice video and I like it! Link to this video was also posted on Schooltubers.sg website in NAFA page.

  • i wish music such as this was still around :(

  • A beautiful masterpiece!

  • whenever i listen to these, i imagine green fields, blue skies, and peace in the world

  • great, thanks for posting

  • Who are the eight idiots who thumbs down?

  • Singapore. @_@

  • the most wonderful song i have ever heard!

  • So beautiful!

  • wish i was there

  • So Talented :)

  • Wonderful, simply beautiful, Beethoven is a Genius. Congratulations to this orchestra.

Maravilhoso, simplesmente lindo, Beethoven é um gênio. Parabéns a esta orquestra.

  • The fact that Justin Beiber, Lady Gaga and the Jonas brothers (or other trash that is called modern music) can get literally a thousand times as many views as this video is... unspeakable.

  • This song is perfect!!!

  • Wonderful.

  • It is amazing what people can do... watch how they move in unision.

  • ... just to think that Beethoven was teh 8th or 9th child born of a struggling family, and was DEAF !!!

Music from God into his head and hands directly!??????????

    WOW

    Awesome!!!!

  • oh wow..

  • This music is just.. phenomenal. I'm in tears right now. Its such a beautiful piece filled with so much feeling. There is no way to appreciate better than with this beautiful and wonderful orchestra, respecting and recreating the beautiful masterpiece he composed so long ago. BRAVO!

  • I live in Dublin Ireland, so all the seats are given to the rich and well dressed !!! , I have no hope of attending a perfomance before i die ,unless I become an Irish Politician or a gangster which are one and the same here in Ireland. Pearse Doran.

  • EPIC

  • 7 people are not only iliteral but also deaf.period.

  • I would give anything to conduct this in my lifetime.

  • This is how Beethoven should be played. Oh my oh my this Texas girl's heart and soul are soaring. :)

  • 3:36 Just listening to the cellos playing is giving me goosebumps, I haven't heard anything excite me more than this beautiful song...

  • There's so many empty seats! People don't know what they are missing.

  • very nice

  • Beautiful music, truly wonderful... there are no words that can describe the beauty of this music ahhh :) Does anybody know in which year this was produced?

  • Beethovens music will change the wolrd from rock and roll, hip hop world to a clsical muic environment

  • Masterpiece begins at 0:35

    yes, really -_-'

  • wow

  • Ludwig should have written a double bass concerto despite his affections for Domenico Dragonetti.

  • .......Beautiful maestro... !!!

  • Who the F is that terrible bass? After such a wonderful lead in. Neither depth of tone, character nor ability. Wrong notes, light tone, no gravitas, no convincing of the audience. Sounded like a light baritone fresh from the Freshman year choir except he has no hair. GOOD LORD! (the rest was great!)

  • I saw this symphony back in April and was absolutely floored. Watching a video on youtube gives no credence to the amazing and awesomeness (translated as fear) that this classic gives when the chorus mass hits you like a wall of sound. Like the person below me said, this should be on your bucket list.

  • That was great!!!

  • Thank you for uploading. Truly a beautiful song.

  • love it way too much

  • Attending a perfomance like this should be on everyones list of things to do before you die.

  • @ff621 i've been shearching to attend a performance for e very long time now, but just can't find one.(live in belgium) o well, i'll search untill i find a concert! you're absolutely right, one MUST see or at least hear the 9th before his life is over...

  • @ff621 This was on my bucket list; so did it several times. Keeps getting better and better.

  • @ff621 Done it... and you're right.

  • @ff621 I wonder where the next concert for this symphony is being held?

  • @ff621 how about playing in a performance like this?

  • @ff621 WELL THEN IM READY TO DIE B CUZ I SEE AND I HEAR!!!!

  • @ff621 Or while you die - what a way to go!

  • No matter how many times I hear it, I get a wee tear. Perhaps the best piece of music ever ever ever.

  • I have been looking for this versio for so long. Thanks. Sincerely.

  • ok, so im going to sound ignorant, which i am (having only recently discovered my love of classical music.

but can someone please enlighten me as to the purpose of the conductor?

does it really make much difference who conducts?

I mean.. could you otell the difference?

i know this is probably a faux pas to ask.. but i do love music so very much and I am interested in any answers...

    thank you.

  • @Fishlet30 @Fishlet30

The way to lead a music performance is very important, because there is a sort of dialogue between the conductor and the players. I'm not a great composer or else, but It can be explained in this way; If in a great restaurant, the leader of the cook Unit is very experienced and skilled, then his talent will spread through his assistants and the dishes will be delicious. ; )

  • Fantastica!

  • Pretty awesome bunch of talents!

  • just perfect, not more, not less :)

  • @thorn3000 FOR ME IS MORE THAN PERFECT!!!
