What this video says seems pretty true, but also, lets not forget that Russia invaded into georgia (Gori), along with ossetian milita. The militia looted, raped, and destroyed, while the Russians refused to let humanitarian aid through the seige. Also, the US and EU are asking Russia (and not Georgia) to stop the attacks simply because Russia is so much stronger.
Saakashvili's plan of making Russia look like a bully to the west is working wonders.

And they don't have enough sense to at least look for independent media outlets to search for the truth. The message "Russia stared the war in South Ossetia" is a propaganda by U.S, probably because the government noticed: "Oh, we made a mistake back then in Iraq, not respecting the laws in the UN Charta, now we need to invent something to be even with Russia, so just blame the nation for the conflict in Georgia." Though I doubt, that U.S have doubts about their "preemptive war" in Iraq. Truth is, that people in South Ossetia are suffering since it was seperated from the SU, so they want go back.

Also, 2,000 civiliians issue is a disputed matter, we get somewhere in the 200-500's for all civilians casualties for some, some say up to 2,000, others say 250, realistically it's probably somewhere in between all that. I just looked that up too, which means that you're fudging the numbers or only looking at one source and have an agenda that is not in the promotion of human rights or justice.

I find it fascinating that people dismiss BBC and CNN completely, but in the same token take this video posted by some random person as the gospel truth. Both sides are at fault, it's quite clear there is a bias, whoever posted this video provides no evidence, no credentials and portrays Russia as just some innocent crusader.Red flags? there's a lot of idiocy on this comment board. First of all, South Ossetia (and to a greater extent, Abkhazia), were mostly populated by Georgians before the 1992 war. After that war, much of the Georgian ethnic group was forced out by the government of South Ossetia.
Furthermore, the governments of Russia and South Ossetia were responsible for most civilian casualties in this war. They even participated in ethnic cleansing. Why anyone backs Russia on this matter is beyond me.

You're right about all the fucked-up things done behind peoples' backs. Our own government usually isn't even honest with us, US citizens, and we can't really do much about it when they decide to do something overseas. We don't get to "vote" on whether to go to Vietnam, Afghanistan, whatever. The president says "go there" and the military has to do it. It's a fucked-up system, but it's not all our fault. What this video says seems pretty true, but also, lets not forget that Russia invaded into georgia (Gori), along with ossetian milita. The militia looted, raped, and destroyed, while the Russians refused to let humanitarian aid through the seige. That said, I'm disgusted that we (the US) supported Georgias belligerence in the first place. I'm not happy with either side, but the Russian position on this issue is the better one. The media certainly screwed up this story.

There were 1 or 2 short messages about us bombing some soldiers _near_ Gori and then it was said that we _entered_ Gori. Poland - a country in the center of Eurasia. Strategic place for anybody to control trade traffic and military bridgehead in case of war. So, they were always interesting for many countries, and always scare to be captured (and this is happened many times). That's why they always try to cooperate with stronger side in any conflict. And because of this, now they wanted to cooperate with US (by NATO).

Anybody can start war anywhere, it's only meenings how they prepare PR activities on TV, then people say who's bad, who's good. Recognized by Russia and UN for decades. You suck in the propaganda and think America has something to do with everything in the world. Neither side is right. War shouldn't be the solution. If Russia decides to do the same in Crimea some time in future, what will you say then? Let's hope it doesnt happen

Mikhail Saakashvili would never dream of launching a massive military attack unless he got explicit orders from his bosses at 1600 Pennsylvania Ave. Saakashvili owes his entire political career to American CIA and MOSSAD. If he disobeyed them, he'd be gone in a fortnight. An operation like this takes months of planning and logistical support. USA must have been working hand in hand with Georgian generals for months in advance.

even if this is true, that Russia came to protect S-Ossetia and Abhazia - their "help" should have ended to the borders of those region. There is no excuse for russian army to be in elsewhere Georgia especially now, when Medvedev has ordered to stop any activity. Why don't russian troops withdraw from Georgia?

- All documents about territory of former Soviet Republics was signed in 1991.
- Before 1991 Soviet Republics (including Georgia and Ukraine) was only ADMINISTRATIONAL REGIONS! Not pure national regions... or state regions.
- In 1991 USSR was separated on this ADMINISTRATIONAL REGIONS.

King David the builder united all of Georgia about 200 years ago, and yes, Ossetia and Abhazia were part of that unification. Territorialy both regions are part of Georgia. In 1921, Stalin, in order to keep the regions of USSR from breaking into individual territories chopped Ossetia and Abhazia into and made them part of Russia. At the fall of communism those lands were Georgian. Ossetia is not a rich region, it has never been. Why has Russia done nothing to help them before?

In my opinion, Russia had every right to defend the South Ossetians.
But they're STILL attacking the rest of Georgia with astounding force. THIS is why everyone (US, EU) is getting angry at Russia.

Saakashvili is trying to use the US to regain control of the two separatist areas. However, we didn't rush to his side like he expected. He's trying to drag us into it, but so far it feels like we're resisting it a bit.
Also, the US and EU are asking Russia (and not Georgia) to stop the attacks simply because Russia is so much stronger.
Saakashvili's plan of making Russia look like a bully to the west is working wonders.
