I gueess they used Bluescreen...to put the Luke and Mark together...I think they did same thing or something close to it for the Patty Duke Show in the 60's....no matter the reason it was done well.
@Astraldragon1 check out the quality of the image of Mark in his tux, it's much cleaner -- I would guess he stood in front of a projected image of the previously filmed bit with Luke. After Mark inquires about the Luke's clothes, notice that kermit's image is cleaner and sharper, so I think they switched the "second shot" from Mark to Mark and Kermit.
and the voice of a Robotech Commander in Robotech: The Shadow Chronicles, and plays a bit role in Wing Commander. Some actors/actresses just go behind the scenes however Hamil has had a few lesser known movies under his belt at one point in time.
They had splitscreen. It just wasn't done on computers the way it is today. There are some older movies that have used the same effect, though none come to mind. If I am wrong, which I might be, sorry, but I am pretty sure I am correct.
I'm about 99% sure that it was done with bluescreen. Luke Skywalker was on with the muppets without additional effects up until the shot at about 0:30 when he was patched into the background (via bluescreen and a separate shot of him talking in front of the same background) and his "cousin" walked in and interacted with the muppets. =)

Where is the ATV/ITC logo at the end
stuttsy83 2 years ago
The show is now owned by Muppet Studios; they would have replaced either of those logos with the "Jim Henson" or Muppet logos around the 1990s

Season 4 of The Muppet Show is scheduled for a 2010 release...let's hope that, like Seasons 2 and 3, it will be complete and not edited :)

99% sure? I'm just wondering what the 1% is.
googamp32 2 years ago
1% would be either splitscreen or green screen, both of which were not common in TV programs until the early-to mid 1990's.
