@lilplaya205 I just wanted to point out that not only did you fail to count how many times he went up the rope in 60s (title) but you think that cutting the people in the video by 40% (not even half!) would make the rope 4.5 times as long giving your complaint (I mean after the complete fail of the 4.5x in 60s) a whoping math fail as well. Thanks for posting, you're going to be my next demotivational poster.
wow omg !!! how the hell do you do that!!! at first i was like that ropes not 22m whos he trying to fool, but the guy goes up and down up and down whens it gona end lol haha thats amazing...is this you? the guy who posted the vidoe?
hi spartan! thx 4 yr comments! yes that's me - there's a group of us who train bodyweight at bondi beach, aged from 15 to 50. best cheers; train hard!
i so envy u, i love working out, but after 2 years you wish you had other ppl doing the same things with ya to keep ya going, but all ma friends quit gym and exercise after a few months, cant believe something was happening like that in bondi, next time i go bondi im gona try spot yas lol aniwaiz
@marcusbondi Wow. that is true strength. can you do a one arm chin up? that is my ultimate goal for this year. I can only do 5 or 6 chin ups with an xtra 25lbs on me. what is your workout like?
@rrpauldoran -You are wrong again, as uaual. I know this to be a world record. If you can't prove otherwise, which, of course, you can't; then the record stays. But then again, it should be easy for you to break LOL! Let me know when you break it; which will be never.... but train hard regardless; it's your only hope.
I love to do rope climbing. It´s very hard cause I am a heavy guy but I can do it. In a gymnastics training gym I climb like 8 or 10 meters I don´t know the length but I did it. I agree with marcusbondi, the climb down it´s pretty hard and he(marcusbondi) climbed 100ft. it´s obvious. I think that the climb down is harder than having a rest with an isometrical contraction every 7 meter. keep going marcus!
hi typaholic - the rope is 7 metres long - about 21 ft... it is climbed up 4 times AND down 4 times.. that makes the total climb over 100 ft. cheers.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
Really? Up AND Down you say?? Isn't it possible that gravity ceased to function on that day and you only went UP 4 times? Hmmm... something interesting on which to ponder.
Hi DrBjamin - gravity makes the climb down very hard; you have to use a lot of controlled strength to fight the gravity on the way down, to avoid simply just 'falling/sliding', and that would be using gravity... but you would die... train hard. cheers.
hi DrBjamin - sure, I understand and enjoy 'sarcasm' as a genre of social humour... but it doesn't really translate too well in text. but kudos for bringing it on. cheeers!
No offence, but I have to agree with both of you for a bit, but In my oppinion, its indeed harder to climb 100m UP then 50 up and 50 down ...
It also requires strength to climb down, totally agreed on that part, but its just harder to climb up then down ... atleast that's how I experience ropeclimbing (love doing it :D)
ps: Try using arms only, and do it upside down, it goes like your ass above your head and legs spread, and then start climbing (awesome :D)
typaholic, you should definately buy a ruler. I know, I know, you've always used your penis and it is always with you, but it seems to no longer be a reliable measuring tool.
I've seen many variations that demonstrate strength and endurance when applied to bodyweight exercises, but I've yet so see anyone climb at such a speed, for such a distance. Outstanding Marcus!
Marcusbondi, as a fellow rope-climber, I just want to say yours is a SERIOUS display of strength and endurance here. A few questions: How high is that rope? What is the diameter of the rope? How much do you weigh? I began rope climbing in 1998 and am no where near this level yet. Keep Climbing!
hiya magna! gr8 to hear from other ropers! the rope is 7 m (23 ft), diameter- about 5cm(2 inch) - I weigh 83kg (183lb). keep training hard; cheers bro!
This is one of the best rope climbing videos of all time. The skill, the setting, etc. How does one attain this level of strength and skill? Do you start with a wide variety of rope-based pullups? Climbers have the best physiques and tons of functional strength, I aim for the same.
Hi hrhadam; thx 4 your kind words. Climbing LOTS of rope is the best training 4 climbing rope; you can also do 'rope chins' by hanging a rolled towel over a chinning bar. Train hard, best cheers!
That's just crazy endurance man, gotta hand it to ya. I thought I climbed alot of rope but I've always been more of a power kinda guy. Seems like you got the best of both worlds. Good training Marcus!
Hi ableteam; many thanks 4 watching! Your amazing, legendary vids of versatility, skill & strength are awesome & inspirational! Best regards! ps- If you ever come to Aust, pls come train with us!!!
Nice one! I have always loves climbing ropes and lamp-posts, since i was around 13 i can climb up without my legs and quickly, never tried reps like that tho which is impressive. since i left school i have no rope to climb! what rope would u suggest buying to stick up a tree without ripping the hands? cheers
...good job...I just have to point out the guy that was doing push ups in the foreground...now that is a REAL exercise, anybody can climb a rope many times but only a select few can do a couple of push ups!...
Hey Marcus. Thanks again for that info. because I've entered the Ninja Warrior contest. I'm not as good as you yet but I'm training hard. Check out the entry video and write me back so I can give you the contest info. Thanks!
Respect man! I wonder if you can do it in a row - i mean in one piece. I think there isn't much rest in every descent, but nevertheless - respect.
