  • @anorup Thanks! That was indeed a surprise for me too!

  • Very good demonstration, and surprisingly dramatic. It looks like the airflow not only gets turbulent but actually reverses direction!

  • 2:11 for stall PS great vid =)

  • Is there a scientific name for air flow over the wing?

  • thats some airfoil pr0n right there

  • Actually enjoyed that, Thanks :)

    Great landing too

  • well done, thanks

  • second song's name? *__*

  • @Hearthbrake Massive Attack - Unfinished Sympathy

  • What a brilliantly demonstrated principle presented in a clear simple way. I loved watching the stall develop from the root and trailing edge out to the tip and leading edge.

    Well done

  • What is the name of second song :) Interesting video

  • you can really see teh airflow separation. well done

  • how did you mount the cam

  • what system did you use for takeoff

  • Gorgeous video. Thank you.

  • excellent video love the soundtrack

  • Beginning song is Robert Miles - Children.

  • Damn cool for a science project. Hope you got 100%

  • if you want to know the reasons for this effect of lift and moving vortex points research the magnus effect relating to newtons third law,

  • dit is in hoogeveen nietwaar?

  • Klopt :-)

  • Song at the beginning and at 5:35 what are names of this songs ?

  • the 360 banks in this vid... AND THE MUSIC is ftw!

  • DG505?

  • ASK21

  • If you notice, as the wing begins to stall the separation begins toward the root of the wing and moves toward the wingtip. It also begins at the after part of the wing and moves forward. Great reference video!

  • Thanks, great video! Reminds me of my gliding days...

  • What is this vid telling me please? Some techy detail will be appreciated.

  • like the discription says: it shows the airflow over the wing. in normal fligth conditions the threads on the wing stay on wing. but when the plane stalls and the angle of attack gets to big and the smooth airflow becomes a turbulent area of air. so you won't get any lift which makes the plane drop from the sky. the turbulent area can be seen by the woolen threads moving allvover the wing.

hope this makes it all clear

  • it's great!!!

  • is that an ask 21

  • I think it is!

  • Yes it is !

  • massive attack - unfinished sympathy

  • whats the name of the 2. song ?

  • it would have been great if the copy right thing was a banner pulled by the plane that would blow my mind

  • hello what is that song?

    nice video

  • Robert Miles - Children

  • The second one I think is moby!

  • Massive Attack "Unfinished Sympathy" - from the album that created the genre that Moby works in - "Blue Lines"

  • great vid 5/5!!!

can any one tell me the name of the song in the begining please/

  • Robert Miles-Children

  • i like the katana the flew by right at the end. those are fun to fly too!

  • impressive video

  • Prachtig om de stroming te zien veranderen van laminair naar turbulent, ook de verschillende overtrek niveaus zijn mooi te zien.

  • awesome vid thanks for posting

  • good video!

  • whats the name of those pink strips of material that theyve stuck on the wing??

  • wool lol.

  • lol

  • lol...or you can use... cotton thread?

  • too thin and light, probably. Would be hard to track by the camera.

  • waar was dat?

  • hoogeveen staat in de video

  • cool glider :D

  • What's the music called at the start?

  • Robert Miles - Children

  • Cheers mate

  • These gilders have their landing gear down , depends on the pilot , if he wanted the gear down ..the gear will be down.. :D

  • How come the landing gear stayed down?

  • Probably because it's a fixed undercarriage K21 trainer!

  • Oh ok - it just looks like one of those thingamyjig gliders with retractable.

  • Actually, some gliders don't have retractible landing gear... I've flown one of these gliders, and it's one which can't retract the gear... The gliders that are used in competitions and go really fast, those are the ones that have retractible ones!

  • wayne? This is an awesome interesting video about the behaviour of air around a gliders wing and not a study about gears or something

  • Festa det kameraet godt ja :)

  • Brilliant, what is the first song / piece of music? I've he4ard it before but cant think what it's called..

  • Children by Robert Miles

  • One of the earliest ever tunes of its type ;) Mid 90's

  • Very nice landing!

  • Do you mind if I borrow this video for a science project? I'll credit you.

  • Nice video, it would have been better if you showed the stalled wing during a spin :)

  • The glider type showed here (ASK-21) actually sort of refuses to spin.

  • I bet i could make it spin using the simulated spin off a cable break

  • lol i bet i could too

  • tried that ... it pretty much won't without spin weights.

  • fair enough.

  • nice!

  • Thank you ..

  • cool movie
