  • Hello I have a question, on the very last barre chord at the end the g string playing the e before the g will not sound it buzzes or its muted it is driving me nuts, my barre is properly set . any suggestion please

  • Peo, i absolutly love your videos! Do you know how to play Villa Lobo's etude 11?

  • My favourite Etude and you really make it sing. Utterly outstanding!

  • the chord changes are a doozy around 2 minutes...i had a difficult time getting those down...great job, very romantic sounding and musical. I like the contrast between the varying parts of the piece, great interpretation.

  • Estoy estudiando esta obra y es de gran ayuda su interpretacion, Felicitaciones.!

  • Always beautiful and delicate Peo!

    Thanks a lot!!

  • @mrwormburn

Difference being that everything he does IS worth posting.

    Thank you.

  • Perfect tone.

  • You are great!!!

    Thank you very much!!!

    Best wishes from Brasil!

    André

  • The sound of your guitar is very good, or also the quality of your recordings are very good. Can I ask where you set the microphone in the recording of your videos?

The etude got very good - I liked it. And these Villa-Lobos's etudes are not exactly easy to play.

  • Wow. Why are you not more famous than the greats like russel and barrueco? Your playing is better than them in my opinion!

  • LOL. Thanks a lot. I think it's because I am very shy... :-) But I'll change that.

    Thank you.

    Per-Olov

  • My teacher told me of a story about Barrueco, as an encore performance he made his guitar out of tune, just wound everything down a bit (randomly) and when he played, he played it all in tune by bending the notes to the correct pitch lol. And he is supposed to be the worlds best sight reader, he can sight read literally almost anything. perfectly.

  • @loofascraper I have to agree with this, it's the best version I found so far.

  • i realy liked how you played this study...especialy the introduction, it is a real chalange !!

  • Very nice!Awesome interpretation!

Thank you for sharing these pieces Per = )

  • Thanks for listening.

    Per

  • Not bad, but I think it's too gently. You should also more think about the sound in faster parts. Anyway - it's good. Thank's for posting

    *And sorry for language mistakes

  • Thank you for your comment(s). I will think of that next time.

    Thanks a lot!

    Per-Olov

    Per

  • Wow, just saw that I posted here a year ago... I didn't even remember... I'm sure I was as fascinated as I am now...

  • LOL. That's the good thing with bad memory: you can have the same joy from the same thing over and over agin! LOL I know the feeling!! trust me! Well, thanks for commenting again!

    Kindly,

    Per

    Kindly

    Peo

  • When God created this poor country, Brasil, he touched with his hand in two men, and one was Villa Lobos.

  • Sorry ... I'm just being curious; but who was the other man?

  • Pelé.

  • of course! Thank you.

  • "Etyde" instead of "Etude", even in the video... LOL

Rexicano, you should consider that you are not welcome with such an unfriendly behavior!!! I plan to ban you, frustrated and poor childish boy. You must have a sad life... and a lot of troubles. Keep cool boy! Life is light, and not only sadness and rules!!! Go outside and look at the birds singing in the sun... Here is life!

callaprima... A ranting fool, a nutbal... Muhahaha!

donPabloArturo found the right way to comment.

    Brilliant.

  • LOL Thanks for the "defence" Jean. But don't bother. We all have our right to tell what we think! Negative or positive.

    Peo

  • Subtlety, poetics and melancholy. Applause.

  • Thanks for the applause! :)

    And for listening.

    Peo

  • I agree that it's stupid to compare everyone to Bream and Segovia; they are wonderful musicians with exciting interpretations but this is also some very enjoyable and skilfuly played music. Very well done and thanks for letting us hear this!

  • Thanks! I'm glad you liked it.

    Peo

  • It's not stupid to be aware of who is providing you with good ideas on how to interpret a piece; especially when they also knew the composer.

I'd say there were a few minor technical errors here, weak rest strokes and a bit timid in the interpretation...but then I know the music and it's history. But I guess awareness is dumb to you, Forrest Gump.

  • Wow, I thought this was very well done, with clear tone and focused musical intent. It is slow and somewhat labored sounding but in my opinion that is a perfectly legimitate interpretation to this piece, which lends itself to a kind of hesitant, dreaded feeling, particurlarly in the introductory section.

  • You're getting a pretty bad tone there in places and it sounds likes a nail problem. Needs a whole lot more virato and expression. Too flat and boring...plus most scale runs are passionless and sound labored. Segovia has an old recording of this and you need to hear it...or Bream. It's a diffucult piece and needs a lot more polishing.

  • Thank your for your comment!

    I will practice more. I promise :-)

I'm hounored you took your time.

    Peo

  • Rexi I think your comment was very cruel. You forgot 2 very important thing.First;every player has his own taste he plays however he wants.Second;you cant compare any player with the unique players of the world .It is easy to say play like Bream but at real life it is a impossible wish, best you can do is being a good BreamImitation.Peo has a very good Musical taste enjoy his music. He composes, arranges, plays.Try to understand his music dont be a square.

  • Well, I am sure the player understood that he meant well with his critics. It *IS* a matter of taste, but Rexi just said what he thought might help. And don't get me wrong, Andante, I understand that your purposes are the same.

Well, it's a pleasure to hear Villa-Lobos, no matter how it's played (and it was well played).

  • Rexicano. I looked at your channel to hear your examples of passion and perfect scales. I found nothing there. Please upload some of your songs we would love to hear examples of laborless speed and Segovia-like tone and power.

  • Try to follow along; As I said, See examples of Segovia or Julian Bream. If you can't tell the vast difference between them and this effort then you should go back to listening to Abba.

  • What is it with you guys. Segovia??? Bream??? They are bad musicians. Especially segovia. And please sir Kindgren, take another look at the score and learn how to count.

  • HA, HA, HA! ...we all know how many famous Japanese Classical guitarists there! Put the Sake cup down and go back to watching those bug eyed cartoons and singing karoke while you make another Toyota. Idiot. The most famous Japanese "musician" is Yoko Ono!

  • I did not mean to offend you, but i think that carlo marchione or zoran dukic or so are far better. And i agree that most japanese guitarists suck. and i like sake but i also like ozawa(conducter)good luck with your study

  • So, you trash talk two of the giants of the Classical guitar world...and didn't mean to offend anyone? Segovia and Bream had major composers write music for them and toured the world to great acclaim. Playing on their level requires skill, not luck.

Peo's trouble, as you see it is "counting," but that's not really it...it's his rushing through some phrases where there should be more rubato and lack of tone color in the right hand.

  • Hi Rexicano. By accident I saw this "discussion" for the first time today. YouTube never noticed me about it. I think you in some ways are right. And I have taken notice! But I also believe in artistic freedom. I CAN count, but choose to play the way I do. I would love to hear you play. Respect,

    Peo

  • Pls dont compare me and peo.Peo is a much much player then me.And as a musician i am in search about what to do

Peo knows exactly what he is doing.I am learning lots of things from his clips. Pupils must respect the masters.

  • as good as cem günenç : )

  • I've learned a lot from your videos about tone and volume control. Thank you for posting this.

  • Fantastic.

  • fantastic. i always liked that one. brilliant work on the scale passages and making that melody sing amidst those dense-as-hell chords. very fine.
