  • Septette for the Epic Beethoven.

  • With so many people talking about it and this song being even the one that inspired it, why isn't Septette of a Dead Princess in the Suggestions Bar? -.-

  • great sound recording!

  • A good performance, but better when slightly slower than this as some of the notes could be clearer. Otherwise, good job.

  • Remmyyyy~!!!!! XD

  • Im trying to get this song as an extra list song in my 6th grade exam.

  • @Pokemonawesomeness86 You might not get it... I'm doing this song right now for my Grade 8 :/

  • Dear michielroosen, Thank you for uploading this video. I appreciate it! You did a wonderful job. I want you to make more videos. - Me

P.S. You got the speeding + dynamics awesome!

  • Yes, Remilia!

  • I instantly heard Septette of a Dead Princess.

    Vary intradesting...

  • C'est fantastique! Bravo encore!

  • Do u know what a pedal is ?

or do u just don#t like it?

  • @888167 Ah, the pedal isn't really necessary in this movement.

  • @TheRealJuKo yeah it's not necessary but I think a bit pedal at some points would be nicer.

  • The first movement kinda puts off most people playing this, as it misdirects how the whole song sounds, and difficulty level. I think it gets easier, and sounds nicer, the further you go into it :-)

  • *looks casually out of the window* - brilliant!

  • he looks so bored. XD

  • AHA HERE IS PROOF OF NOT ALL ASIANS AL "all that great" AHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAA

    ps im asian =P

  • (: I'm 11 and I'm playing this song! I started taking lessons when I was 4 years old and when I was 6 I played the 1st movement of this song! (x Btw, Ur really good!

  • Fantastic!

  • I'm 11 and playing this song now! I hope I can achieve the same result as you!

  • This is beautifully played, I really struggle with this piece when i approach this speed.

  • This is beautifully played, I really struggle with this piece when i approach this speed.

  • I'm working on memorizing the 2nd movement now, but my goal is to learn this entire sonata :) Beethoven is awesome.

  • I'm playing this for my grade 8 examination!! ^^

  • are u the n who played for the grade 8 examination?:0

  • type down beethoven virus and there is this awesome remix to it [ASIANS ARE AWESOME!!!!!!!]

  • wow is that how fast it's supposed to be!! I better keep practising.

  • Charisma Break! XD

  • is this the hardest of the movements? If not, which one is? I want to play the whole sonata, and I have mastered the first movement, and I am wondering if I am ready for the other two... Any suggestions?

  • Playing this for my diploma, love it, pathetique is simply one of beethovens best compositions!!

  • Magnifique!!!

  • You know whats funny, light is supposed to go faster than sound, but in the vid, sound is coming out first. O.O Other than that great job!

  • I'm playing this for my grade 8 exam tomorrow!! Not as fast though! :D

  • Thumbs up if you came here because of Remilia Scarlet (anybody?)

  • @brandpanz No, but I was weirdly thinking that The Melancholy of Marisa sounds like it was inspired by this piece.

  • @brandpanz Same here, after hearing the first eight notes the first thing that sprang to mind was 'Touhou'. Glad to see i wasn't the only one :)

  • @brandpanz so right man. So right.

  • to everyone doing their grade 8 and learning this piece,

    dont worry guys(:

    its easy.

11 yrs old here and passed grade 8 when im 10!

    seriously! it is very nice

of course i still play with some mistakes. but i assure you just put in all your heart and u will find that the song is beautiful.

    its the art of life.

    ~MUSIC SAVES MY SOUL

  • @ruthheartmusic

You must be a god T_T

  • @ruthheartmusic lol you still have mistackkes

i know it is easy but to get the tempo and dynamics that perfect is very hard

  • @ruthheartmusic and thats why it is so hard

  • @ruthheartmusic this is one of beethoven's greatest compositions.. nothing is easy, it can take someone years of practice to even be able to acquire the technical skills required to play this song well.

  • i honestly cannot play this without making at least a few mistakes.

  • ha at 2:55 it sound like the part from beethovens 5th symphony. just watch beethovens 5th symphony on youtube buy user castout888 and go 1:02 you will see what I mean. its like beethoven accidentally mixed that part in or something.

  • WHAT is grade eight???

  • @TheParadisis

in some countries there are 10 grades for begginers piano schools than 4 years of baechlor degree and than 1 year for magisters degree

  • @TheParadisis grade 8 level piano

  • So excited I'm learningthis for my grade eight - you are such a good pianist :)

  • Aye, I'm doing this for my grade 8 also, very excited, but you know it's going to be tough when it takes you 5 minutes to get through one page.

  • Try to hear Septette for the Dead Princess. The opening sounds a bit like this. Maybe it was based from this?

  • Recently played this for my Grade 8 piano exam so I know how hard it is. I never once played it completely perfect.

Well done for being able to that AND dynamics AND keep the tempo regular. x)

  • wow.

holy crap why are you playin so well

gonna play this in music exam cbf

    wish me luck T^T

  • I'm playing this entire sonata for my college auditions in January next year. I've learned the second movement, I'm halfway done with the first movement, and this one I haven't started yet, though it looks relatively simple, at the exception of the fast runs. It's a lot of question-answer work with the ornamentation and a lot of arpeggiated chords. This will take some time though....thank you for a wonderful performance. I know what to expect when I get around to this movement.

  • Beautifully played. My 14 year old daughter is working on this piece. LOVE it! :)

  • If you could up the irons for any composer of classical music, it'd be Beethoven. In fact, I'll do it now \m/ \m/ YEAH!!! >:D

Seriously though i love Beethoven's pieces, i'm learning this and it's flipping insane. You are amazingly talented :)

  • V3 from O2Jam

Septette of the Dead Princess from Touhou EoSD

  • uh-oh... i'm seriously screwed for my 8th grade exam...

guess i should stop procrastinating and begin?

and beautiful playing, i hope to achieve the same result!

  • @bbrittanyyful same for me girl ;D but where dy live?

  • @LightandLight in the us; how about you? :P

  • i'm learning to play this piece now, it's not very hard:)

  • Great! Thats Amazing!!!

  • That was amazing.

  • applause

  • I thought this was a grade 10 piece?

  • Not to include the pedal movements... godly.

  • i could play this whole song on the piano. this song is also called "Beethoven Virus"- which is also played very well on the electric violin by Diana Boncheva. i love this classical piece even thought im only 11.

  • im confused....what is grade 8? i play but i have a private teacher that comes to my house soooooo we just play....all i have been told is that im intermediate leveled and not quite advanced yet....but what are the levels and how do you know what piece is what level?

  • @juicyvids I live in america and kinda understand your confusion. In some countries there is a standard piano level learning study. The levels are basically a classification of difficulty, as far as i understand it. And to find the level of a piece I assume you just look it up in whatever level classification system you are studying under.

  • beautiful!

  • DAAAAMN! you must have practiced at that for ages! I am sooo impressed! if only I cuold play like that .. :(

  • omg. you are so talented. btw how much does that piano cost? it sounds really good.

  • congratulações do Brasil!

  • Remi. She stole this too.

  • @DudeDie222 Remilia~

  • isn't this op 13?

  • Im doing this song for grade 8 abrsm and this is the easiest out of the three. I love it and its the most fun to play

  • screwed for grade 8 :/

  • This is awesome O__O. Thanks Remillia that her theme bring me here :p i love both

  • I would suggest a bit more pedal at the beginning.

  • The pathetique is just Epic.. It's like telling a story..

  • i think that the dynamic is perfect!

im done laerning this and im 13:)

  • My Brother used to play this Beethoven Sonata for me when I was a kid. Love the Pathetique so much.

  • ...Septette for the dead princess..'Nuff said.

  • I like the way you are playing, but i think you have misinterpreted some parts as a result that you played them "wrong" ( "wrong" sounds maybe a bit too hard...).

  • SH*T i'm having the grade 8 exam NEXT month i Havn't learnt all my songs yet.. and i can't even ply this song in HIGH speed and i ONLY had 6MONTHS to prepare.. :(

I AM SOOOO GOING TO BE SCREWED... oh F*CK

  • haha cute

  • That looks like a really classy flat :)

  • That was the best piano playing I have ever heard! Keep up the good work.

  • 1:46 Love that call back to the second movement. Initially the second movement was my fav, but this has become more interesting to me. The first movement just has a lotta large chords.

@missmusica21 : Lol, I'm also 15, but only started four years ago and took lessons for only two of those years (thanks community college). Doing a music minor, but I try to learn classical pieces since they are so fun to play even if I embarrass myself by getting bored listening to classical sometimes.

  • wow! i love your beethoven pathetique, all 3 movements. ive done my grade6 in november and i got 28 29 29 for my pieces. i doubt it will ever happen, but i hope one day i can be as good as you! but in only 15 so ive got a LONG way to go :)

  • My favourite piece by Beethoven by far. Also, how come this only has 200k views? Are there really that few that appreaciate real music and talent?

  • idiot

  • Hmm I love Beethoven, he's so awesome. And this is totally my favorite piece he wrote.

  • I think that the sound is slightly ahead of the image in this video...

    However, great jod!!!

  • God: Damn you Beethoven for creating beautiful music. I should make you deaf.

*Beethoven becomes deaf and still creates beautiful music*

God: .... you should die now.

  • there is even a virus type!

  • Very nice.

  • nothing to concern except the quality of sound in the video

  • is that you? because if it is, you're really good!

  • dude you have no feeling or soul. it sounds like your jus pressing buttons or doing a routine

  • u r magnificent .. !

  • You suck shiiiit.

    Moron.

  • Hahha, used this video as reference for my Music History and Theory classes. Thanks!

  • Im finished learning the 2nd Mov and the 1st is just way to hard!! Is the 3rd Mov hard because I am planning on learning it!

  • 3rds the best no doubt

  • Amazing! thanks for the upload, i'm playing this for my grade 8 exam! :D

  • Amazing

  • nice job! thanks for the upload, i'm playing this for my grade 8 exam.

  • Which movement do u guys lov the most

I need to decide gonna send in my art supplement 4 carnegie:)

  • @whitesnowable

It is too difficult to choose just one! Each is spectacular in its own right. The 3rd is the most technically challenging, the 1st arguably the most powerful, and the 2nd the "prettiest". I personally enjoy playing the first, but I love all of them. However, if I were forced to choose just one, it would have to be the first.

  • i put this on as a background tune to listen to while i was doin work, didn't know it was this long.

  • Beethoven Virus!!!!

  • bravo!!!!!

  • So I had a pick a moderately challenging classical piece to learn and play for an audition coming up in three weeks. The site I looked this piece up on only gave it (VERY INACCURATELY) a difficulty score only one higher than Fur Elise, so told them I was going to play it.

I think I might be screwed.

  • Nicely done!! Amazing!

  • I just looked this up to see what it sounded like 'cos I'm learning it for my Grade 8 piano exam.

    ....

    I really wish I hadn't now..

All hope just died when I started wondering how many fingers he had..

  • @kitcatinthehat i'm doin it for grade 8 too....i don't think i'll ever be able to play it that fast

  • Comment removed

  • @kitcatinthehat its a really good song, i just finished my 8th grade, good luck with yours.

  • @kitcatinthehat I'm with you on that one. I'm dreading having to play this at full speed now...

  • @kitcatinthehat dude its fucken easy :)

  • @kitcatinthehat

I reallly really need tips on how to concentrate on how to play this piece...cuz while I'm practicing my mind wanders....

  • @kitcatinthehat wow my life is over. i only just switched to playing grade 8 and chose this piece. and i only have 6 months to prepare with additional 3 other buddies...noooooooo T_T

  • @kitcatinthehat what kind of grade 8 piano exam do u have

playing this in grade 8 is crazy

    this is atleast grade 10

    unless u are in china

  • @HASKHD

Well I don't know what your system's like wherever you are, but in Ireland piano grades only go up to Grade 8.

    It goes, Elementary, Preliminary, Primary, Grade 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8.

    Final year, woot!

  • @kitcatinthehat i c cause im in canada and this is an arct song now

we have 1-10 and than arct this song used to be in grade 10 but rcm boost it up to arct

    thanks tho

  • @kitcatinthehat It's on the Grade 8 syllabus now? aw man! lucky guys.

  • @kitcatinthehat dont worry(:

i played this for a concert!

and it is quite easy if u have the determination!

i can still remember the piece(:

    its beautiful.

    just like what music is--------------------beautiful

  • Sounds like Septette for the Dead Princess.

  • @TheKingultraOmega Ya got it backwards. Septette for the Dead Princess sounds like THIS. I'm pretty sure Beethoven came before ZUN. (no offense to Touhou music, I'm a fan. Just making sure that credit is going to the right people)

  • @ProudWildGreenBeast

    Thank you captain obvious.

    (No offense)

  • I normally love Yamaha pianos, but for some strange reason its not fitting well for this composition, too bright for my taste. Of course, I liked the video.

  • you are the real artist ;) i like that how are you playing ;)

  • timing is a bit off but some really beautiful playing! lots of potential!

  • great performance and great recording. out of sync in some places but in most ways awesome

  • Lol! women love lovely 'bad guys', whatever that means...

Btw, this piece is pure perfection, makes me feel like kicking some ass ^.^

    Very well performed!

  • did beethoven study musical theory, or did he get it all by listening and playing?

  • @Laudan08 beethoven study all his life, the others kid's was playing whit the ball or something and hi never did that, always was studing, hi lived under the shadow of mozart, and it was very hard for him

  • great, but a little too fast. more emotion-this is a very musical piece.

  • @mozartHeavenToHell wait a sec... what does a 'very musical' piece even mean ? A piece of "music", is, by definition, "musical". No piece can be "more musical" than another... and neither can a piece be "very" musical, since there is no degree of musicality in any piece - it's just music.

  • @dissentrix "very musical" means very emotional.

  • @mozartHeavenToHell oh ok thx i just wanted to point it out

  • Very nicely done. Great HD video, and great sound quality. Lovely home too. Cute pianist also. I mean, what more can one ask for, right? lol

    ( :

  • @lllllllllllllll88

You think so? Miself im good at piano and I think Im a nice person but I suck at women, they rather prefer electric guitars and rude and Motocyclyst guys

    I think. jaja

  • Very nice. Lovely home too. Cute pianist also. I mean, what more can one ask for, right? lol

  • excellent

i did this part on theory history 4. i just wanted to listen at this. it is such a wonderful piece!

  • perfect speed! actually i liked it better than freddy kempfs version. XD

  • this is one of my grade 8 pieces.

    oh dear.

  • This song is known as V3 in O2jam, Beethoven's Virus in DDR machines, and now is the official ABRSM Grade 8 song! Lucky me i'm taking grade 8 this year! wish me luck~

  • good job getting the right notes, but WAY to fast. it is allegro. not presto. i can't hear the 2 note slurs.

  • Bravoo!!! = GREAT!!!

    I love your piano!!!!

  • Septette for the Dead Princess is definitely based off of this.

  • Watch your tempo from 55 seconds to 1:08 - detrimental loss of developmental tension. Many nice inflections, but, you need to practice this slowly and deliberately a bit longer. Bravo!

  • This sounds like "Septette for the Dead Princess" from Touhou, haha. Great piece.

  • i'm leaning this right now. its really nice to be able to hear it online while i learn it so thanks for putting this up.

  • tempo is not regualr there are accelerations due to crispations. then sometimes the speed is lower. Is not Chopin, but beethoven and the rubato is not used.

You must work a few to reach a convenable interpretation.

  • @antinoos2008

YAWN, Though I understand why you say that, but regardless of how this guy uses rubato I dont think one should attack or condemn any kind of experiment or variation on a piece especially because of period accuracy nitpicking, they have been played in straight fashion many many times why play like that again? I think it is musically unethical to discourage invention, even average examples of it, because it needs to be practiced far more so we move from interpretation to invention

  • Beethoven Virus is a remix of this

  • amazing

  • u didn't emphasize the difference between the forte and piano part of the piece. like at 0.58, i think u should make it more piano and put a little more pressure on the chord to make it a definite crescendo. there are some flaws during the piece, making some kinds of "dip" in it. however, u did a nice job "hitting the notes", though.

  • wow ! ! ! , perfect~~i love it

  • you're really talented and gifted!!! well done! beethoven is my favorite composer..!

  • omg it's perfect :O

  • nice job, very clear notes, but don't rush!

  • simply great...

  • O2Jam =P

  • Wait what? Isn't this Septette for the dead princess?!

  • im 10 and im learning it rite now XD no really im not kidding

  • the first 20 seconds sound like beethoven virus

  • yea, cuz you totally know that, cuz you lived in the 1800's, mozart is way better

  • Do I hear a incorrect note at 1.36?

  • sehr gut

teilweise etwas zu schnell aber insgesamt super

  • @smiley1144 Ich stimme zu

und im nur lernen Deutsch , aber ich didnt möchten, dass du alleine fühlen

    : )

  • Michiel - Always enjoy coming across your selections on YouTube. You are quite good.

    SGH

    USA

  • Very elegant, clear thanks for sharing. I wish you add another more emotional interpretation.

  • brilliant
