With so many people talking about it and this song being even the one that inspired it, why isn't Septette of a Dead Princess in the Suggestions Bar? -.-
The first movement kinda puts off most people playing this, as it misdirects how the whole song sounds, and difficulty level. I think it gets easier, and sounds nicer, the further you go into it :-)
(: I'm 11 and I'm playing this song! I started taking lessons when I was 4 years old and when I was 6 I played the 1st movement of this song! (x Btw, Ur really good!
is this the hardest of the movements? If not, which one is? I want to play the whole sonata, and I have mastered the first movement, and I am wondering if I am ready for the other two... Any suggestions?
@ruthheartmusic this is one of beethoven's greatest compositions.. nothing is easy, it can take someone years of practice to even be able to acquire the technical skills required to play this song well.
ha at 2:55 it sound like the part from beethovens 5th symphony. just watch beethovens 5th symphony on youtube buy user castout888 and go 1:02 you will see what I mean. its like beethoven accidentally mixed that part in or something.
I'm playing this entire sonata for my college auditions in January next year. I've learned the second movement, I'm halfway done with the first movement, and this one I haven't started yet, though it looks relatively simple, at the exception of the fast runs. It's a lot of question-answer work with the ornamentation and a lot of arpeggiated chords. This will take some time though....thank you for a wonderful performance. I know what to expect when I get around to this movement.
i could play this whole song on the piano. this song is also called "Beethoven Virus"- which is also played very well on the electric violin by Diana Boncheva. i love this classical piece even thought im only 11.
im confused....what is grade 8? i play but i have a private teacher that comes to my house soooooo we just play....all i have been told is that im intermediate leveled and not quite advanced yet....but what are the levels and how do you know what piece is what level?
@juicyvids I live in america and kinda understand your confusion. In some countries there is a standard piano level learning study. The levels are basically a classification of difficulty, as far as i understand it. And to find the level of a piece I assume you just look it up in whatever level classification system you are studying under.
I like the way you are playing, but i think you have misinterpreted some parts as a result that you played them "wrong" ( "wrong" sounds maybe a bit too hard...).
SH*T i'm having the grade 8 exam NEXT month i Havn't learnt all my songs yet.. and i can't even ply this song in HIGH speed and i ONLY had 6MONTHS to prepare.. :(
1:46 Love that call back to the second movement. Initially the second movement was my fav, but this has become more interesting to me. The first movement just has a lotta large chords.
@missmusica21 : Lol, I'm also 15, but only started four years ago and took lessons for only two of those years (thanks community college). Doing a music minor, but I try to learn classical pieces since they are so fun to play even if I embarrass myself by getting bored listening to classical sometimes.
wow! i love your beethoven pathetique, all 3 movements. ive done my grade6 in november and i got 28 29 29 for my pieces. i doubt it will ever happen, but i hope one day i can be as good as you! but in only 15 so ive got a LONG way to go :)
It is too difficult to choose just one! Each is spectacular in its own right. The 3rd is the most technically challenging, the 1st arguably the most powerful, and the 2nd the "prettiest". I personally enjoy playing the first, but I love all of them. However, if I were forced to choose just one, it would have to be the first.
So I had a pick a moderately challenging classical piece to learn and play for an audition coming up in three weeks. The site I looked this piece up on only gave it (VERY INACCURATELY) a difficulty score only one higher than Fur Elise, so told them I was going to play it.
@TheKingultraOmega Ya got it backwards. Septette for the Dead Princess sounds like THIS. I'm pretty sure Beethoven came before ZUN. (no offense to Touhou music, I'm a fan. Just making sure that credit is going to the right people)
